    Possibly one of the best evenings ever! John is a rare gem - talent, humor, more talent, more humor, etc. Ach! If you ever have the joy of working alongside him, you are blessed.

    Us composers/producers are quite clumsy when we start a session. There is always this random moment of worry where we have no sound or our MIDI device isn't working when in actually we just forget to turn the monitors on or plug in our device.

    Say what you will about the movie, his work on X-Men: The Last Stand is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. It was so good, I remember after watching the film in the theater, I went out and found the sountrack in the store. I've done that with only a handful of films in my lifetime.

      ShockwaveGamer1 If I’m not mistaken I think he only owns his poodle moose and all the other dogs in his studio are owned by other team members of the studio

      The first set of cooky vocals can be heard in "Sid's Sing-A-Long" and "Mini-Sloths Sing-A-Long" from Ice Age: The Meltdown!

      +Daniel Jesús Valencia Sánchez This was a master class given at a SAG/AFTRA event showcasing vocalists and choirs in film scores, so he's showing samples from various projects utilizing vocals!

      @FilmMusicMedia  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Fedor Voronov He's showing some samples of his workflows from older projects that utilize vocals so there's a bunch of stuff from scores like Ice Age: The Meltdown and Lorax!

    i don't work with loop, i' am a big fun of John Powell, but i didn't understood all he told about, because i'm italian, can someone write what he say?

    It's both hilarious and tiresome seeing how he made the one part of the movie where I had to cover my eyes in the theater. All improvised by singers and mixed, instead of composition-based. That's not often explained in music, that part of it is the sound effects and improvised samples. Thanks for your time there, John! I still enjoy your work. Just, the instrumental parts, though.
