- My neighbor started charging people to use my driveway as a parking lot, claiming, it's a public space now. When I filed a complaint, he laughed and said, you can't stop me. What he didn't expect was the tow trucks and fines that shut down his operation. Let me tell you about the time my neighbor decided my driveway was his new cash cow.

I live in a small, quiet town near Louisville, Kentucky. It's the kind of place where people nod hello, but mostly keep to themselves. That's how I liked it until Rick moved in. Rick seemed alright at first. He kept to himself, mowed his lawn, and didn't cause any trouble. But about six months ago, I noticed something weird.
Rick started tearing up his front yard. I mean, completely ripping out the grass, digging up dirt, and dumping gravel everywhere. I figured he had some quirky landscaping project going on. Little did I know, he had bigger plans. The next weekend, I noticed a couple of cars parked on his gravel yard. At first, I thought it was family or friends visiting.
Nope. Turns out, Rick was charging people to park there, especially on Saturdays when the town's farmer's market brought in a lot of traffic. I thought it was odd, but honestly, I didn't care. It's his yard, he can do what he wants, right? Then came the day I came home and found a car parked in my driveway. I was confused.
I didn't recognize the car, so I assumed it was a delivery guy or maybe someone lost and stopped for a minute. I gave it a pass. But the next weekend, two cars, both of them parked smack in the middle of my driveway. I went next door, knocked on Rick's door, and asked him about it. He acted like it was no big deal.

There are plenty of people in areas of the city nearby who rent out their driveways as parking spaces, but they rent their own driveway …
OP didn't want to know where Rick was going? I can understand that. But if he is feeling particularly vindictive, what he could do is follow him to his next residence and advise his future neighbours how to deal with him. And ask them that when THEY drive him out, follow him to his next location.
Rick really thought he could just take over your driveway like it was his own? That smug attitude made his downfall even sweeter. The tow trucks and fines were the perfect karma! 😂🚗💨
They're right about the nod and keeping to themselves in Kentucky 😂
I swear i dont see what cops are for. Smh
Nice to know there's a legitimate HOA out there.
That's why the story is pure fiction.
@@TherealSBlair nah, there are some instances where they can and will take warranted action. Our problem was a barking dog who barked all night long for months. We complained, and the neighbors finally took their noisy dog inside out of the cold. They tried it again next year with the same result. Don’t understand how the dog wasn’t bothering them. We lived two acres away, and the dog was in their own backyard.
And about two years ago, the HOA was able to squash a permit for a used tire processing center a mile down the road. Best of all, our HOA cost about $50 a year and doesn’t care about grass or cars. Unfortunately, a neighbor had broken down cars in his driveway for years so there’s the flip side.
I solved the daily hours long outside tuba playing myself by sending an anonymous postcard telling them no one wanted to hear that. I was polite about it. It stopped until the next year, and then for good. Play that in your own house!
@quix66hiya22 glad yours turned out well. In my experience however, HOAs are generally nightmares.
Umm cops should enforce the law
I LOVE HOA/ NEIGHBOR FRIM HELL DRAMA😂
