    I’ve watched more album tutorials than I can count, but this one (hands to God, HANDS TO GOD!) is probably my favorite one. Thank you . I’ll be making this one for my daughter for Christmas.

    The CCC Design Team certainly made the right decision in choosing you to join them! I have been following TH-cam creators of mini albums for over 3 years and can't believe this is the first time I've seen one of your videos. You are amazing, and so are your albums. I love your teaching style and your great sense of humor. I can't wait to start making this album.... my first project in 2023! Thanks for your attention to detail and clear instructions and filming. You are extremely talented. I have subscribed to your channel and can't wait to catch up on your past videos and look forward to your new ones! Keep'em coming Caroline!!!

You are a wonderful teacher at explaining all the many surprise elements you use in this album, and your technique seems so much easier to me than some others I have seen. You make it look easy enough for even me to do. I love everything about this wonderful album, and can't wait to get one ready for some family Christmas memories. I have saved you to my favorites. Thank you so much for taking the time to share how you created this wonderful album. CCC is blessed to have you as part of their design team. I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

    Hi Caroline, just found you, and I'm a new fan and here to stay.... and I love your crafting banter. It's so refreshing to find someone that chats with us as if we were there crafting with you and more importantly slows down enough for us to enjoy watching (and listening to) the process. I doubt I'm speaking just for myself, but it's not just about learning, it's about enjoying the process of learning.

    Hi Caroline, I am so excited you were asked to join CCC. I don't know why you are shocked, you are amazing, and equally as good as any of those artists.... For real. I love how you are so generous, caring, funny, and giving of yourself to your work. I honestly watched this video within hours of your posting it, and then went back and watched again right after jotting down some notes to put here. I HONESTLY meant to get this to you at least within December. I know you understand how ridiculous December is, and especially for crafters with craft fairs and such... SO, I hope better late than never helps. I want you to hear the thoughts I had the first two times I watched. Grab some coffee, this might take a min. (I tend to go on and on).
    First, congratulations !!! I love the introduction to the video. You are an AMAZING Designer. Give yourself that grace girl !! Enjoy and take it in.. My fingers are crossed for you that you will get to go to Hooper soon. Let’s put it out there, by the end of 2023 !!
    Thank you for taking the time to explain the way you do certain things and the hints you give to making our crafting easier. I have never been one to use the frames, saving paper the way you do, what a brilliant idea. Changes my way of crafting now, and saves my junk drawer from getting a little more fuller… lol.
    When you started the waterfall flap cut, I thought why in the world… Then, my jaw dropped in the genuineness of it….I love Michelle Allen’s way also, I thought I had seen all of her video’s back to the beginning too.. I love the removal of the adhesive on the ribbon also.
    I am so anxious to see what all you create this year. I am glad you are feeling better. Take it slow, be kind to yourself as you tell us. GOD bless you :) Cami

      I love both of my guillotine cutters. The larger one is the Dahle 533

    Great album Caroline! I love your tutorials you explain everything very through, I’m hoping to try your gusset on the hinge. Where do you get your tape from? I seen some at my last retreat and didn’t get to ask the lady.

    Great tutorial with very precise instructions. Really appreciate that as I am new to albums and do enjoy them! I do have a question, where did you get your mitering tool? Definitely need that to finesse my corners as I am not too happy with the end results, needs improvement. I will be getting the spacers from CCC. Thank you for your very helpful tutorial.

      Thanks so much, Roxanne!
      I used the equivalent of almost 2 paper packs but did not purchase the “packs” instead I purchased individual sheets so I could pick and choose which ones I wanted to double up on.
      Thanks, again, I really appreciate it!

    Cool album! Why are corners trimmed of the sliver piece and then mitered?

    • @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline
      @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Joyce.
      Thanks for the great question! In Tamra’s design for wrapping the album, she cuts out the square corners to keep from having to pinch that little piece in when wrapping. The sliver cuts made after the preliminary cutting out of the corners is to refine that corner cut specifically at the part of the corners that are closest to the chipboard. You can simply stop there and finish wrapping as Tamra does, but I’ve added the miter cuts to reduce the bulk at the corners once wrapped. The end result is the mitered corner with the notch out of it.
      I hope that makes sense???
      In this video
      th-cam.com/video/yomiO-C5T34/w-d-xo.html
      I go into more detail about the corners and what I cut and why. Beginning at the 9-ish minute mark or so. I hope that helps.
      Thanks, again, for the great question.

      @@CraftingCreatingWithCaroline I do understand the process but I still don’t get why you trim it then mitre. Why no just do mitre and save the trimming? You cut off what you’ve trimmed anyways🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

    • @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline
      @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joycehuff9769 because to only miter it would then require the little piece close to the chipboard to be pinch/folded in. The process of cutting the squares *and* mitering produces a refined notch cut near the chipboard that eliminates the need to push a piece into place.
      To only cut the squares removed the need to pinch the piece into place but creates bulk on the back side when wrapped.
      Cutting *both* the miter *and* the refined square eliminates bulk *and* the need to pinch the piece into place.
      Hope that helps

      What I’m trying to say rather ineloquently, lol, is that the trimming process is for the area right next to the chipboard. That part isn’t cut when mitering alone. Sorry I’m probably not explaining this well. 🤦🏻‍♀️
      The other video I linked shows the little parts that are cut when trimming (time is 11 minutes 40 sec into the video)

    I have that corner round punch I turned it over wrote the number that goes with that size and then can see when I get the corner straight.

    Caroline, is there a mathematical formula to determine how to make the floating hinge for any size spine? I’m terrible at math. I tried it and it didn’t make any sense. Lol! (Btw, I made this album and it is so cute!!!)

    • @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline
      @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, JoAnn!
      Great question! It’s 2 x the width of the spine plus 1/2” for the width and the height is equal to the height of the pages.
      Then you score it on the width side at 1/2 the width of the spine, then add 1/8” and score and add 1/8” and score again. Then add the width of the spine and score, add 1/8” and score again, then add 1/8” and score again. You will end up with a piece that has a section 1/2 the width of the spine, a set of (2) 1/8” sections, a section that is the width of the spine, another set of (2) 1/8” sections, followed by a section that is 1/2 the width of the spine.
      I hope that makes sense?
      And, yay!!! I’m so happy you made it and even happier that you like it! 🥰

    • @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline
      @CraftingCreatingWithCaroline  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For example:
      If your spine is 2” wide, the width of your paper would be 4 1/2” wide
      (2x spine)+1/2”
      And you would score on the 4 1/2” side @ 1”, 1 1/8”, 1 1/4”, 3 1/4”, 3 3/8”, & 3 1/2”
      If your spine is 3 1/2” wide, the width of your paper would be 7 1/2” wide.
      (2 x spine) + 1/2”
      And you would score on the 7 1/2” side at 1 3/4”, 1 7/8”, 2”, 5 1/2”, 5 5/8”, 5 3/4”
      The height is always = the height of your pages.
