Soft spoken Lennox Lewis at his best was the total package. The last undisputed Heavyweight champion emerged as cream of the crop against some of the biggest punchers in Heavyweight history. Lennox avenged his only two defeats by knockout. He didn't make excuses for his losses, he said, *"It's Heavyweights, you can get caught, but i won the rematches in style,"* and *"Show me a Heavyweight champion without a loss and i'll show you a fighter that fought a lot of nobodies."*
In my opinion 59 year old Lennox Lewis is the GOAT. To hear him talk so clearly and eloquently after going up against 18 Heavyweight Champions is remarkable.
The 18 HW Champions Lewis faced: *Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Hasim Rahman, Oliver McCall, Mike Weaver, Henry Akinwande, Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer were later recognized as WBO champions, British HW champion Gary Mason, European HW champion Jean Chanet, Commonwealth HW champion Derek Williams, Canada HW champion Razor Ruddock, IBF/WBF HW champion Michael Grant and WBC International HW champion David Tua* [[ technically not all were 'World' champions but champions nonetheless ]] *Other notable mentions; Olympic HW Silver medalist Riddick Bowe, Olympic HW Gold medalist Tyrell Briggs, Andrew Golota, Zeljko Mavrovic, Frans Botha and Phil Jackson.*

Lennox Lewis is possibly the best heavyweight ever. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he's not a loud. flamboyant personality. But in the ring he was an absolute master of his craft. Another great fighter that didn't get the recognition he deserved was Larry Holmes. At his peak he was the best. He would take his time and absolutely pick his opponents apart. He ended up losing a few fights but that was because he stuck around too long after his skills had diminished. But at his peak there was no one better.

Fury will secretly have doubts despite his bravado, Usyk will adapt and overcome and will not be as easy to hit this time.

fury has always proven he can be confident one minute and not the next . eg before the klisthcko rematch. and with the usyk fight he was doing well until usyk clipped him on the nose. that's when he started panicking. but he was courageous and tried to go toe to toe with usyk which was another mistake. the only way fury wins it is by a boring slow boxing match but usyk can box even better i think .

The irony with Lewis-Holyfield 1 is that Lennox gave Fury the blueprint for how a good big guy beats a good small one. The secret I think was to master the range and use his reach. Fury seemed much more keen on dropping his hands so low that they provided no obstacle to Usyk coming in and meant he, the giant, was always and bizarrely punching upwards. If you remember whenever Holyfield came in he ran into a torrent of long, straight, heavy punches which kept pushing him back or upper cuts which almost knocked his head off.
Of course you can’t blame Fury for having only average punching power whereas Lewis was exceptional, but I do blame him for not conditioning himself well enough to throw lots of hard punches throughout. How can a respected, world champion boxer have a body like that?

if chisora couldn't rough up usyk, fury can't ... in fact it was because fury tried to engage in round 8 which gave usyk the chance to score on the inside ... fury's only chance is to box and be patient really a boring style fight like he did with klistchko . the only difference is usyk is a smarter more versatile guy than klistchk and he already knows more about fury now ... usyk is good for the division. without him we'd just have fury and wilder shouting at each other lol

Hello Folks, Tyson is the comeback kid (man). Look at his record. There was 3 rounds about 5, 6 and 7 where Fury was relaxed, composed and enjoying the fight. This was his opportunity to make a move and finish off Usyk but Tyson played around a little bit and didn't take the opportunity. We had enough of rabbit bring home the bacon. He is the one and only KING for a reason. Put on your dancing shoes mate we going to town to do some Rocking and Rolling singing and dancing with Don McLean and Glen Cambell.
Joe Parker and Anthony Joshua would be a stunner.

Unfortunately, that's the case with many modern fighters as they are pampered, and there's so much money at stake. Why did it take so long for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao and why has Fury not fought Joshua and why have Joshua and Wilder never fought? Lomachenko has had 21 professional fights in 9 years! Marvin Hagler had almost 60 pro fights in the same time frame. And let's not mention modern boxer's enormous entourage of chefs, sports psychologists, dog walkers, nutritionists, Lomachenko being the worst with this.

    • @cnwil4594

@@cquilty1You make absolutely good points. Old school boxers fought each other multiple times, often more than 3 times. Each time the bouts were exciting, because no one knew how each outcome would be. They also, despite being the champion, took on top 15 or 10, and didn't make excuses about a fighter wasn't on their level, because they knew style made fights. They were at risk each time they took on an opponent. It's quite embarrassing to see today's boxers with less total fights than those badasses back in the day had knockouts. With respect to Mayweather vs Pacquiao, perhaps the fight was too prolonged, but remember, Mayweather is older than Pacquiao.
