Thats not what kagenashi is. What happened there is just they straight up simplified the designs and didnt follow the character design sheet, and then they did kagenashi(shadowless) which is a technique that requires a lot of strong sense for drawing volume without relying on shadows. Both correlates since kagenashi relies on good linework which is more pronounced/apparent when you do it in sinplified designs, but it not just because they did kagenashi that the entire style changed.

Its a bit sad that a young and upcoming talent in the industry got kneecapped by KADOKAWA and the BANDAI subsidiaries with their ass production decisions. 8-bit and blue locks staff both in s1 and s2 has a lot of firepower albeit its not as strong as the big studios but s1 literally pulled Ikuo Gesso but straight up their entire firepower disappeared after episode 5, Hajime Nihira was also responsible for some if the amazing s1 moments from chigiri's dynamic run during his first awakening and isagis direct kick in OP1
@@slippy47 I feel like kagenashi is a cop out method. I know plenty of 90s anime that would embarrass the anime that are released these days that rely on kagenashi. 90s anime that are shaded 3-4 layers and still have smooth animation.
This animation, this direction and this final soundtrack is what represents the blue lock manga in its essence and of course Isagi's scream when he scored the goal by "luck" was very gratifying. ❤
Kunigami wasnt in any of the mandatory training Blue Lock went through….. I wonder if he was sent to like another Blue Lock location and completely wiped everyone there. That would be EPIC

Isagi is absolutely the mvp of this match. Every goal happened cause of isagi. Because of him, rin was able to block goal. Because of him, they were able to create many chances to score goals. He blocked Sae and Shidou. He also scored a goal. He got 1 assist and scored 1 goal and he also assisted yukimiya and that's why nagi was able to score the goal. He also assisted rin and that's why rin was able to score the goal too.
Absolutely no way rin is mvp. Lol rin wasn't even able to block sae and missed all of his chances. Not to mention he wasn't able to help other players like isagi. As sae said he was the heart of blue lock and this match. He is the true mvp.@@carlovsky4340

i would say isagi and rin are both mvp Rin's improvisation allowed the first goal (even ego said it at half-time), he scored the second goal, he assisted isagi when sae came to stop him from making his direct shot, he stopped Shidou from scoring by taking a hit, thanks to his marking on aiku isagi was able to stop shidou, he destroyed the defenders of the U20 team apart aiku who managed to deflect his shot towards the end, he stopped sae in the final seconds of the match allowing isagi to score the final goal he was really amazing
