Now, from time to time, I put on the record and jump around until I find the start of Scarlet Begonias. It plays for 20 minutes, and for that time, memories of driving through the Basin and Range regions of Utah and Nevada heading west towards SF on the 50 drift in and out of whatever I'm doing. Since then I've listened to countless shows from different eras of the Dead's near 60-year run and for my money, the experience peaked in spring of 1977 on a few shows in the Northeast.
