    Sir, there is a method you can use to fix the crack and show no sign of crack by color.
    Use resin to fill the crack and sand the crack with sandpaper and the particle of the wood will fill into the resin and unify the color.
    Thi is work on small cracks and is used to fix small crack on burl woods. I know some woodworkers use planer and epoxy.

    My husband and I are buying a house that is 100 years old this year. My office has original hard wood flooring that has been painted. I plan to remove the paint at some point. I cracked the seem of one of the wood boards with a office chair wheel. If I send a picture via e-mail can you help me and tell me if your product will work for me? I have a mat to put down as protection after I fix the crack. Enjoyed your video and thanks for your help!

    I just spent $5,000 for a new redwood fence and 4 days later I am noticing a few very fine cracks - should I be worried I don't know. My painter recommended putty to fill the screw holes so maybe I will try the putty on the crack before I stain. He recommended Crawford's vinyl sparkling paste. I think this is white so I am going to return it. And buy a tube he is recommending. They don't have Redwood so I thought Pine might be the next best color. I did email them for recommendations.

    Hey Jaden! Thanks so much for the inquiry. Unfortunately WoodFil EPOXY won't likely stop a split from continuing down a piece of wood. There are many great videos on youtube from other channels that have great how to's on that subject. Sorry that we are not more help and thanks again!

    If cracks start on the end can you clamp the crack together or will the epoxy not hold it together?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and good question. The epoxy has some adhesive qualities to it however we are unsure of it's long term holding power on such an application. The cracks that were filled in this piece of wood have not split any further and we made this video over 5 years ago. I don't know if I would rely on it for a structural piece. Let me know if you have any further questions!

    Does woodfil epoxy strengthen the crack? I have a chair that the support leg is slightly cracked. I wonder if this just fill the gaps or does it strengthen it to prevent from further cracks. Thanks!

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Ragamala and thank you so much for your questions. Generally WoodFil epoxy is best for filling cracks and it's main purpose is not as an adhesive. In the application you are suggesting it would likely add some additional stability from further cracking however may not be the best long term solution. Please let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day!

      Hello Jaden! Sorry for the late reply, we must have somehow overlooked your comment. WoodFil EPOXY will not keep the wood from continuing to split. • @Kampelent

      Hi Scott, It would be able to fill in any seam and bond it together however I would be concerned that over time it may split at the same crack again due to the flexing.

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Lorenzo! WoodFil EPOXY is completely waterproof and will end up being more durable than the wood. The tubes are listed as the color of the wood not the stain type. Can you add color to the epoxy by mixing in pigments or by staining over it. However the epoxy will not absorb stain in the same way as the wood since it is not porous. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Yes this product is still available and it can be purchased from www.americantechnologyinc.com. And when you say temperature restrictions do you mean heat or cold? Thanks for the great questions!

    • @antbotwoodworking4668
      @antbotwoodworking4668 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kampel yes, I’m wondering if I can still work with this material in an unheated garage or if it needs to be a certain temperature to fully cure.

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@antbotwoodworking4668 the material will work in lower temperatures. However once you get below freezing you cannot mix the materials together as they are too hard. However out of curiosity I just took a tube of material, froze it, allowed it to warm up in my hand to mix it, then threw it back in the freezer mixed and the material fully cured. Ideally the epoxy should be allowed to cure in warmer temperatures but as long as you aren't working in extremes in should work. Hopefully that answers your questions, however if you have any more please feel free to ask.

    Do you think this product would work on a very deep crack? Would I be able to reapply to fill it until it was filled?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James! Thanks so much for the question. A short answer to your question is yes you can as WoodFil does not shrink or expand so it can be layered on top of itself. My longer answer would be that depending on how the deep and wide the crack is it may be more or less challenging. If there is a bottom to the crack then it's easy to pack the material on top of itself. If the bottom of the crack is open you'd have to create a way to stop the material from coming out the other side. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask or contact our customer service representative at (800) 837-4971.

    how is this different than the wood epoxy sticks from Home Depot?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carson, Good question. They are of similar compositions and designs. Both are two part hand mixable epoxies. Ours are specifically formulated for wood (which home depots may be as well) and WoodFil EPOXY comes in 5 wood grain colors. Have a great day!

    If the piece of wood were already split it two separate pieces could this work to join them back together?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kim! Thanks so much for the inquiry, if I understand your question correctly you would be joining a piece of wood together that completely split. WoodFil EPOXY can be used as an adhesive to join wood back together. However I would say keep it mind that it's not a liquid and when using it to put two pieces back together it can be challenging to clamp as the EPOXY has to be pushed out the sides. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask! Have a great day.

    Comparing 0:00 with 3:15 shows the different in the whole wood's color. At 2:55 they skipped the process of making the color uniform, so I doubt it was easy

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. In the video as mentioned the different in the woods color is due to the fact that the wood was finished. The tube of WoodFil EPOXY that was used is our standard walnut color which was formulated to match well with most dark walnuts. Also the epoxy can be finished which helps with the color match. It would have been a good idea for us to leave a shot of the unfinished sanded epoxy which would have shown how easy the process actually is. We will keep that in mind for further videos. Have a great day and thanks again for your comment.

    • @debrathornley2974
      @debrathornley2974 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a couple of your replies answer my question: Do you match the epoxy to the unfinished or finished wood?
      Looks like you need to match it to the finished wood. So, if you know what that will look like, you can pick that color directly from the tubes. Otherwise, you need to finish (at least) a small bit of wood and match it to that. Right?
