  • Hello dear viewers :)
    In this copper scrapping episode, we will be scrapping some massive copper transformers for a major copper payout in the next couple of days. Those copper transformers were bought by me from one of my customers and have really good copper yields, that's why I'm very happy that I got them. I will be showing you how I scrap all of those copper transformers and exactly how much money we made with them.

    You see I knew there was more to my punch, chisel, and metal working hammer. And the disk for the angle grinder you recommend works like a dream....your making me proud 👏

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, they are great tools for copper recovery, that's how I started my business, with just a hammer, a good wood chisel and a table. Great to hear that the disk works, I really like those disks, they work a treat and you can use one disk for like weeks, which makes them really cheap. Problem being that they are steel disks and therefore they can really hurt you when they break, you have to be incredibly careful when using them. Thank you very much for watching 😊👍👍👍

    The one thing I do differently is I don't pay for my scrap. There are enough wasteful people out there...

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing, but if you don't own a car and have to walk 10 kilometers to scrap in the city, you think twice about risking an entire day of work and potentially not getting a dime for it. Besides that, it's illegal here to take scrap from the streets. I don't care about stuff like that but the real problem is that there is no scrap on the streets over here to begin with, just trash, as people here are forced to bring their broken stuff to a government recycler that may or may not do it as good as a scrapper and that may or may not operate at a total loss, as they are payed by tax money. Over all, crappy system. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed, I still don't get why people even use aluminum for them. Sure, it's cheaper, but it's not nearly as good and doesn't last nearly as long. Goes beyond me. 👍😊

    • @Man-in-da-shed
      @Man-in-da-shed 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scrappingadventures290 there you hit the nail on the head. It don’t last as long, it’s consumerism. However Aluminium does have better heat shedding properties than copper, its why old fashioned soldering irons had copper sinks to hold the heat. So if they cut costs which create heat, then they use aluminium to shed the heat faster, but again it’s just down to cost savings.

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, it's the same with everything that uses resources as a main component, they are changed and switched around until they notice that the thing doesn't work the way it was intended to originally and then they have to go back to what worked. Oh well, that's how it goes, not a whole lot we can do about that, so might as well make the best out of it 😊👍
