Bruuuuh this is one of my fave songs EVER. Y'all channel is really bringing life back to songs forgotten which happens naturally thru generations. Y'all dope for that 💯
"Don't you know don't you know you should know!" Yessir! Folks wrote the HELL out of songs back in the day, and singers sang the hell out of those same songs. No auto-tune or studio tricks - just straight singers. Man. More After 7? "Can't Stop," "In the Heat of the Moment," "Baby I'm for Real (Natural High)," "Nights Like This," and "One Night" will get you started.
that's my favorite part of the song..yo the lil brother kevon Edmunds sung TF outta this song. I'm a 89 baby. this song came out in my yr so its definitely a vibe and my low key love language 😩🤦🏾♀️🥰🎶🎤
That run he starts at 4:20 .... legendary Black vocals. If you're someone who really sings, I guarantee you go in on that part every time you hear this song lol
I loved After 7 and this song is beautiful. Broke my heart when Melvin Edmonds passed away too soon; Babyface's older brother. Great choice of song brothers! Thank you for posting.
Listen to the song "I care about you" from the group Milestone, which has the two singers from After 7 and KC and JoJo from Jodeci. And watch the song from when they were on the Oprah Winfrey show! It'll show case their voices live and it's a treat to watch the women go crazy!
Yeah….u guys getting there lil by lil…lol so many more to discover still. I had that After 7 cassette and wore it out playing my Walkman in the subway going to work back in the day along with Guy, LeVert, Jody Whatley. Al B Sure!, Karyn White and of course Keith Sweat. So many other great R&B singers. Favorite kind of genre 🔥
see, now y'all done tapped in. Now you have to really go through After 7 catalog. And they are still making music to this day. RIP Melvin Edmonds who was the first person who sang on this song with the opening lead vocals followed by his brother Kevon with second lead vocals. This was a trio of men who could SANG
Hit like before watching the reaction! 🙂 My favorite After 7 song! One of Babyface's masterpieces!👏🏾After 7 delivered on the vocal front! Listen to the words!! Pure love song! Thanks for the reaction! Take care. 🙂
Here is the track listing on their debut self titled album released in August 1989. All tracks except 1 and 4 were produced by Babyface & L.A. Reid. Kayo and Darryl Simmons produced 1 and 4. 01. Don't Cha Think 02. Heat of the Moment, #5 R&B, #19 Pop 03. Can't Stop #1 R&B, #6 Pop 04. My Only Woman 05. Love's Been So Nice 06. One Night 07. Ready or Not #1 R&B, #7 Pop 08. Sayonara I believe Don't Cha Think and One Night also may have entered the R&B charts but can't confirm that. No skips on this album.
P.S. Kevon Edmunds is one of the best male singers ever. I've actually heard him called the male Whitney! A lot of my friends and family thought it was a woman singing!
Yeah he's a counter tenor. The best in history. The next closet to him is Emmanuel Johnson lead singer of Enchantment, or Mark Middleton from Blackstreet.
And after the Tony's comes After 7? The New Jack Swing years. What pleasure have you brought to my ears tonight !! These are Babyface's brothers and cousin by the way.
Definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever! "Walked 1,000 miles sailed 1,000 seas, nothing will discourage me." That was a dope statement! 😍 Composition, arrangement, melody --- all on point. GREAT song!!Thanks for posting. Consider another banger from them, "Baby I'm For Real"! 😀
After 7 Is Not In The Old School R&B Conversation Enough!!! I’m So Glad Y’all Reacted To This! They’re One Of My Fave R&B Groups! Y’all Have To React To “Sara Smile” &/or “Not Enough Hours In The Night”
A classic! Good to see you guys going down the wormhole of R&B from this era. If you ever get a chance, I recommend Milestone “I Care About You.” They consist of Babyface, two of After 7’s members (Babyface’s brothers) and K-Ci & JoJo.
Loooooved this song. My unc was a music head growing up so I knew a lot of songs that I prob shouldn't have. I remember hearing this song on the radio. Glad I grew up in the era with classic hits like this.
I love it when next generations learn and enjoy the great music that has come before their time. So many classics and legendary singers and songs to experience. I wish i can experience these for the first time again
Brooooo, This song was my jam back in the day! I would play it every day all day. I’m 52 years old now I have a 13-year-old and she knows this song by heart because I play it all the time.
The Groups back than men or women sung about love, and sung from their hearts that’s the difference and when you hear them it gets straight to your soul and heart, and men showed love to women they where more open about their feelings and expressed it more than today generation I love the music back than.
Youngloods - this is my favorite r&b group of all time. I love love the reaction. Its nice to see the younger generation appreciating the music I grew up with. This was the group's most successful hit but they have three albums from 1989-1996 that are all fantastic. I highly recommend you peep them. Shout out to Kevon, Melvin (RIP), Keith and Babyface & L.A. Reid for what they accomplished. Timeless.
You two just don't know!! This was THE slow jam and it's so awesome that you're bringing this to a new generation of listeners. Bravo!! Fan of you guys forever!!
After 7 were in a group called Indiana University Soul Review. Years later I was in that group for a semester. When I was there, we got to performed with Patrice Rushen.
After 7 the two lead singers are Babyface older brothers. The first one the sang passed away two years ago. They got the best slow songs and these guys can SING. check out their live performances on here
Y'all are on one today! These groups during this time (The 90's) were something else! Check out Can't Stop. Also, check out their cousin Babyface "Whip Appeal" and the group he came from, The Deele "Two Occasions"

Yes!!!! Def one of my all time favs.

The two lead singers are Babyface's older brothers, Melvin (the one with the heavier tone) and Kevon (the high tenor). Face wrote and produced this
Kelvon is the Baby. Mevin was older..
Definitely Babyface’s older brothers. Babyface is the youngest. Google.
When Babyface is the least talented vocalist in the household…sheesh! (Notice I said “vocalist”, not overall.)
@@brynneholt1990 facts
@@antionettemason1617 Kevon is a year and change older than Babyface but for a long time looked the youngest
