It's so funny to see the whole portable phone thing. I remember how excited my mom and grandmother were to be able to so freely move around while on the phone. Now, everybody has a cell phone that can go anywhere. Interesting what we get used to.
Love this show. A real classic. Anyone notice when they taste the wines before people turn up, William samples a dark wine and the other three drink a light and they seem to comment on the same wine.
What I found funny was that in this episode it is William trying to be diplomatic and calm and collected and its Hester who is coming out with the snarky comments about Sonia especially when she's had a few as well
I thought even better was the sequel, French Fields! It's also found on TH-cam. They move to France for his job. He speaks French and she doesn't! Lots of fun that series is too!
Happy days, indeed. Remember when we were out all day, no cell phone, no answering machine at home. The phone at home could ring all day and no one gave it a second thought. I have a cell phone which is turned off unless I need to make a call. I happen to like not being bothered when I'm out and about.
I once bought a pair of Anton Rogers’ screen used pyjamas at a charity auction. They smelled of brandy, bacon and eggs and Hestor’s blouses. It took me ages to get rid of the smell.
They showed one clip in another episode when Hester was decorating the living room at the front of the house and there was a huge garden or field in front of the garden, then another episode where they are driving back along a country lane and then they pull off the lane into the drive of their house, but yet in other episodes like this one you can see a busy main road in front of the house.

I carry my cell phone in case I need to call the Auto Club. Otherwise, it's not used. And somehow, my life flows along.
I spent 2 years in turkey me and my husband we had one cell phone and he had to take it to work so I had no phone and no problems it was wonderful
