Bruh what truly tragic was seeing what kind of lame old and pitiful former band of the hawk griffith once had. Thankfully it's been replaced now. The band of the hawk has been reborn by those who are by far more deserving to the name band of the hawk. Hopefully you can find your consolation in that.
My boyfriend recently had me watch all these movies in a gamble to get me into it. Yeah, this is probably something more for veteran fans who've known the franchise for a long time, but even my heart broke when he just LOOKED at Casca. My first thought was, "How can you trust anyone after that," after what Griffith did to her... I legit sobbed at this ending. OTL And I've decided to read up on the manga now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the last time Guts cries. This was his last outburst of self pitying emotion. Now he only screams and rages against those he hates. It hurts to see a feeling man turn into a machine of rage.
Chronologically, in the Black Swordsman arc, Guts was crying after the Count died, I forgot why. But at the time, he was a sadistic selfish sociopath, so when he cried, it showed that he was more than that and actually had genuine feelings for others. (I think the crying had to do with the Count's daughter)
He was crying because he saw Griffith again in the Behelit's dimension. That reminded him of all his friends he fought with in the Hawks and what happened to them.
He cried because he remmebered Casca whenTeresa said him "It is your fault, Monster" and casca said him "it is your fault" when griffith was beat by Zodd
Miura will always be remembered as one of the greatest artist, not only as a mangaka. When I heard the news, the fact that Berserk isn't over yet doesn't mean anything to me now. We lost the opportunity to see the end of Berserk but most importantly we lost a man capable of turning paper pages into beauty. I feel empty. An emptyness that will never go away, that cannot be filled with anything. Idk why i always felt like berserk would never end and when i heard miura was sick i was sure about it. I'm usually wrong about everything i really wish i was wrong this time too.... Farewell to this beautiful piece of art and rest in peace Kentaro Miura. Thank you for everything. Half a year ago I revisited the manga and when I was reading the "Guts run" part I had the regretful Idea of putting this beautiful and painful re-arragement of 'Blood and Guts'... It took me almost 20 minutes to read that part because of my tears; I couldn't read it correctly because I was crying so hard. I'm being serious, I'm not a person who cries over fiction so often, but this just broke my heart: Sadness, anger, frustration, emptiness, impotency all of that and more mixed while I was trying to read it. Update: R.I.P
Dunno why everyone call the movies shit. As a Berserk manga fan I believe it's better quality than the two other animes.... even if both of them as a completely different atmosphere.

The original anime had way better ost and pace, and as some other wrote the 3D is really a turn off, I would rather buy an HD Blueray of the old anime over the new movies, but there's only a DVD collection.
I actually quite like the films. The 2016-2017 series however is unwatchable to me. The amount of unnecessary camera movement makes me queasy and not in the way that berserk should.

Every time I listen to this, I can almost feel Guts' despair. The song starts off feeling like a facade of stoicism and gradually feels like the guitar is progressively weeping. Before finally recollecting itself back into stoicism to repeat the process until it quietly ends.
This piece of music is amazingly fitting for not just any adaptation, scene, or arc, but literally all of Berserk. I left this playing earlier while I read through the climax of Conviction and beginning of Millenium Falcon, it's totally perfect.
