Jake the snake is a legend wwe needs him on the creative team his promos and creative ideas are still gold miss the wwe in the 80s better than today wwe
I think that's why his promos are so great. He maintains the ethos of a big match but alludes to himself going over because he's just more dangerous and cunning. Totally keeps kayfabe and promotes himself while protecting his opponents profile.
In my opinion the best promo/talker back in the day… Him, Million Dollar Man, Hulk, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage i rank at the top in the 1984-1993 time frame..
Unllike todays wrestlers Jake didnt rant and rave and scream or try to get fans chanting along to their stupid catch phrases. He was cold and to the point and you knew he meant business
Jake is another wrestler from the glory days of the sport of professional wrestling who could have his face aside of "art of a good promo" in the dictionary.
I think Vince had his mind made up about Jake being a face by this point. I remember a match Jake had against Macho Man on Saturday Night's Main Even when both were heels for the Intercontinental championship. The fans went wild for Jake. That was a good indicator.
Jake has them cold serial killers eye, his promos are simple but sooo effective. One of the greatest
Well after learning about his upbringing he definitely could have gone that route.
What was and still maybe is to this day, behind the eyes of Jake Roberts, was resentment, pain and anger. 😏
I still get chills listening to his promos!!!

Holy crap...I'm in such awe of this man.
Seems like 86 is the sweet spot for Jake promos, never trying to be cool, he just is, pretty crazy he's facing other heels as a true loner.
Jake is a rare man for promos in that he manages to big up his opponent then still walk away from the microphone leaving yo uin no doubt who will win.

JAKE PROMO ARE TOO GREAT !!!

“They use you to clean tunnels, in your off time..” 😂
Jake Roberts always gave the best promos
Even when Jake was being pushed as a babyface he still had that Heel persona.
I think he was still a heel at this point.
@@EnforcerX71 more like a tweener.
You the man Jake I'm a big fan of yours
They should bring back every guy from the 80’s to teach these
Current guy how to cut a promo

The interviewer has trouble controlling the volume of his voice

He made that hair cool
Jake is way scarier then a guy full of tattoos

@@rodzor we get his point even though his sentence isn't grammatically correct. You should of been a teacher.
First comment 3 years ago. Second comment 2 years ago. Third comment 1 year ago. So I just came to comment this year.
And in 2022 it's still should have-and yes I'm a teacher, an excellent teacher.
I love how they lie to people about André being there just to swerve em with Steamboat
Heel vs. Heel? They must have been testing the water for Jake's face turn already...

Use you to clean tunnels hahahahahahaha
Resnick is no Mean Gene.....
And Mean Gene was no Marty O'Neill! That's a joke, son.
He looks like Ed Gein a tad
