We have used the "build your vehicle" app on the Ford website and contacted our local dealership about purchasing a 2016 or 2017 Transit Connect during Ford's March promotion. We already have a 2010 Transit Connect, but we're hanging on to it, as our son will be finishing law school soon and joining Dad's law practice, and will need his own vehicle to make courthouse runs.
It's nice to see ford bring back family oriented mini vans. We are NOT a minivan family but it is still nice seeing vehicles like this hit the road. And with an ecoboost engine if we ever considered one. This would be first pick. Very impressed with ford on this one. We have just and ecoboost f150 crewcab and a short wheel base expedition. We love these vehicles and I can't imagine going with Chevy. They're trucks have very trashy fuel mileage and the suburbans are just too big for a family of 4.
At last, European style SUV coming to America and they they show the perfect vehicle for city operations even for large families. It is based on the Focus. FWD makes it efficient. But you could try the Nissan NV200 since it is a cool Renault Kangoo. Hopefully, turbo-diesel engines will be provided one day.
MSRP of around $25500 for the XLT short base with the EcoBoost engine! Lots of room for a small family like my own. We currently drive a Mazda5 MiniVan. I would love to test drive it!
Very nice overview. Thanks. One question. With the second row seats positioned up and out of the way, how much storage length do you have from the seats back to the rear gate in both the short and extended versions? I was hoping the featured vehicle would be in the low 20's instead of the high 20's
I like this vehicle. I currently drive KIA Carnival 2013 and would wish to use it for Products transportation but it's too big for a busy traffic city like Riyadh. This 2014 Ford Transit Connect looks to be my ideal dual purposed vehicle.
You absolutely cannot compare the 2014 with previous models. I've had two of the previous, and just took delivery of my 2014 Ecoboost cargo van with long wheelbase. Unlike my older ones, the Ecoboost will go as fast as you need on any grade at any elevation. Mine has just 400 miles on it, mostly on last night's drive from Colorado Springs to Albuquerque with about 700 lbs. of cargo. My van has options of Ecoboost, long wheelbase, back-up camera, single-disc CD, Bluetooth Sync, side windows, tinted glass and heated mirrors. Cost was right at $28,000.
Yes, on the 5 passenger, the seats can be completely removed. On the 7 passenger, the seats fold completely flat. But even then, the Van still has (slightly) more cargo area
Ford has designed the Transit with meticulous attention to detail! The undersized engine. The weak transmission. These design characteristics will give you a vehicle that lasts 3 years.
I own a 2010 Ford Transit Connect. I love this vehicle! The body was manufactured in Turkey. The drive train was built by Ford in Spain. It all works together to get me there and back. All over New Jersey, New York and the entire Eastern United States. A truly fine car... truck... van... friend!
I would like to see how your 6'3" would fit lying down in the back. I'm 6'2" and looking for something that could be set up for camping. I appreciate the height but these look too short in all the variations I've seen. Anyone making camper conversions with the Transit, or any suggestions for another vehicle to meet this need?
I own a 2015 Titanium Transit Connect and there are a few things that are not as they should be. The driver cannot turn on the cabin lighting, the heater for the rear passengers makes a $2 hair drier look like a winner, and the vents in the third row do not fully close.
OK I knows I'm a little late, since this was posted in January but I've never even seen one of these. Hope you and the family are all doing well, it's been a LONG time.
2.5 and 1.6 liter? Can someone please explain why you'd need that big engines? In Europe the same car is sold with either 1.0 Ecoboost or 1.6 Diesel. Also looking at the Transit, you get 3.5 diesel and 3.7 petrol, we buy the 2.2 diesel. The older Transit was sold here with an optional 3.2 diesel 200hp, but was faced out because of to high emissions..
2015 used is only $ 14,000. really cheap for the capability. the engine is not that responsive but the purpose of these cars are space , sliding doors and etc
Your mistaking Ford for GM. No car manufacture will compete against GM for that award. Also almost every manufacture had some type of recall this year. No brand is perfect its funny when people say the German cars are suburb over all other manufactures their not. When a VW drives by and the transmission whines when going forward proves they aren't built rock solid like people like to think. I am a Ford guy and always will be they make great products and have quality products. When a brand like Ford competes against Mercedes Audi, BMW, Lexus, Etc. and there products win more awards that saying something. Ford Flex has to be there most luxurious vehicle. Ford's Ex-CEO Alan Mulally strived for Quality in his brand I he succeeded. I'm being biased and Im sorry I just think Ford needs to be looked at as a quality brand and forget about its past in the mid to late 1990's. This is probably the only Ford Vehicle that halls passengers that actually have hard plastics in it.
***** look at the videos too the right >>>> you will see the new chevy express and ford transit are the same made by Nissan, they change some basic parts like the grill but the bodies and drive train are all nissan
Awesome headroom demo!! I'm 6'4" and this car looks great!
If that 6'3" guy sat on the back seat without being cramped, I would've been very impressed with the car. Good presentation.

Well done no nonsense overview.

Are you 6ft3 by any chance? :)
You did a great job !!! I noticed they build this over seas am I correct? Which is a plus in my opinion

AWESOME. At 4:34.. the script reads "if that is not enough (insert Vana White gesture here)"
Great review. :)
Great presentation. When is this Transit Connect going to have a diseal engine as they have in England and in Europe?
Any comments on reliability? Cheers
Great review!
I don't know why people keep saying the Transit Connect is made in Turkey. It is made in Valencia, Spain. The previous model was built in Turkey.
I think you answered your own question :)

...I failed to mention the mileage of 29 mpg all on cruise control.
Make a 2020 review of the wagon!
he forgot to show that the passenger front seat will also fold flat which gives you even more space to put stuff in.
Can back seats be removed completely? If so, is the cargo height area in this Wagon same as the Transit Connect Van's? Thanks so much!
Yes, on the 5 passenger, the seats can be completely removed. On the 7 passenger, the seats fold completely flat. But even then, the Van still has (slightly) more cargo area
Can you get a V6 version of this?
very nice..
nice one. thx.
Ford has designed the Transit with meticulous attention to detail! The undersized engine. The weak transmission. These design characteristics will give you a vehicle that lasts 3 years.
At first I thought the van was too small, until the presenter mentioned that he's 6'3" tall.
I wanted the headroom and open ramp back of the old one to roll in full sized bicycles. This new version has lost it all! Bummer!
People saying this car is made in Turkey. In every review from Europe they state the vehicle is made in Spain.
I own a 2010 Ford Transit Connect. I love this vehicle! The body was manufactured in Turkey. The drive train was built by Ford in Spain. It all works together to get me there and back. All over New Jersey, New York and the entire Eastern United States. A truly fine car... truck... van... friend!
SPAIN
what i think is weird is that the XLT cost a few hundred $ less than the XL. any reason why?

adam büyük arkadaslar ben k.maras kemak a gıttım baktım buyuk yanı her yeri geniş tavsiye ederim
It's definitely not a Caravan or a Town and Country
Please sell this in the Philippines. I will buy one.
What the heck, nothing said about performance, very disappointed.
Great! I can wear my stovetop hat.
Too bad there's no diesel.
THERES A DIESEL IN CA
word from Dearborn is that ford is doing away with sync and microsoft
2015 used is only $ 14,000. really cheap for the capability.

it's ridiculously over-priced
araba mı küçük adam mı büyük :) ?
Her ikisi de bence 😀
30 grand with tax? its all plastic and Korean made electronics...ill bet its under recall already

Haywood Ublowme Yeah and Nissans are unreliable and made of plastic...
John Terrazas I was being sarcastic, why the hate? Also most cars are fiberglass, so most car manufacturers aren't plastic.
John Terrazas True, but I'd consider the body panels the car, the interior is just the interior
