3:45 Conversations like this are good to see. An experienced dealer educating a customer without being condescending or the purpose of the conversation being for any financial gain. With how popular watches had become in recent years, a lot of the new dealers that sprang up don't handle their customers like this. I think it's always best to spend your money with the right people and service like that goes a long way. Good stuff!
You guys are absolutely spot on with your buying and selling process. I'd rather pay extra knowing that the items are real, proper paperwork, and you have a safe environment. I feel gutted for that guy that swapped his watches for the fakes.
Absolutely gutted for the guy who swapped his watches for fakes. Sadly it often takes a terrible experience like this to learn to only deal with trusted dealers. The price for peace of mind and certainty is well worth paying when dealing in these sorts of sums! Years ago I got done on a switcheroo scam for a video camera for £200 but I'm sure that experience has saved me much more since then and no doubt more over the coming years

Story sounds a bit shady .. you offered him a £1k less to conclude a deal but he swapped them for 2 fakes in Costa’s .. Then comes back up yo you to show them .. I ain’t no Columbo but I smell 💩 !!!
Been watching channel for few weeks you boys seem like honest lads down to earth i enjoy the channel like seeing people do well. I’ve been on the AD “waiting list” for over a year now for a 41mm date just jubilee fluted bezel and a 31mm lady datejust. Have do I check stock and come in store is it appointment only? Cheers
Regarding the 2 fake Watches. Did this Geezer put these 2 pieces on EBAY? If so I thought that Ebay do a lot of checks on the watches offered & it’s EBay who verify it?? If that’s the case can this guy get his money back from EBay? I’ve sold L.V bags etc on eBay and they have to be verified first. Or did this guy meet the buyer in Costa Coffee without going through EBay? In which case he’s not getting a refund. I buy & sell watches on the side if I’ve got time. If I haven’t then I recommend they speak to you. It was Jimmy Tippett that recommended you. All the best. Jamie 👍🏻
Yes I don’t buy that Geezers Story after checking out EBay’s TOS. I think he went to sell those two watches in Costa Coffee to a dealer in Costa coffee where the lighting etc etc is not good & normally packed. Hes tried to offload them fast and the dealer has done his due diligence & said no!! If he had a meeting at all with a dealer. Hes sent you photos etc for a quote & you’ve said £21k & now he’s tried to sell then both to you which is daft as like you I know how to spot 99% of fakes and you’ve looked at them & held them & both probably felt off & take the back off & it’s from china With a quartz movement. I’d still buy from you regardless as I know you sell a quality package with the watch. mmm 🤔 I think he was trying it on. All the best. Jamie
@@TrottersJewellersTV it’s just not worth it for £1k. He’s learnt a hard lesson. Almost as bad as buying a watch in the Hatton garden street! No box or papers most of the time. You’re a well known trusted dealer for a reason. My pal Alfie best set up shop in Hatton Garden selling watches. You should hook up if you’re sourcing a watch & vice Versa. Hes a good kid and still learning. 👍🏻

The guy with the fake seemed a bit sketchy imo. Are people that dumb not to get them authenticated. Maybe I'm just sceptical.
