Calculated shipping makes it more complicated for the buyer. When I changed to flat shipping, my sales boomed! Free returns are a must if you want to make this a business. Tells the buyer you have confidence in your product.
@cayleyelaine Agreed. Don't forget that ebay charges final value fees on shipping so it is important for sellers to know how each model impacts the profit. I love your videos by the way! Learned so much about style based pick ups and bolo brands from you. Thank you for creating such valuable content!
You absolutely can block buyers with O feedback. There is a setting. That said, I have been a seller for over 20 years, and never had a problem with a buyer who is new to eBay.
UGH Missed the live again! BUT hopefully next time. I've been a little busy? :) I'm DONE! I did it! I'm so excited it's over and I actually did it! Everything is boxed and numbered! Except larger pieces will stay on hangers. Loving it already! SO easy to grab the solds. I wish I didn't wait so long but at least I'm there now ;) It's been a busy 2 weeks but it's kept my diet doing well with all that exercise!!! :) I still can't believe I did it. Removed 1400 hangers from clothes!!!! So excited it's over....
@@cayleyelaine it was overwhelming to say the least! But so worth it. Sadly I was two weeks too late to get it done! I have my very first Item Not Found! But I have enough history it didn't hurt me but I sure don't want anymore of that!!
If you promote your items even a small percent on Ebay you end up paying the same if not more in fees than Posh. Ebay takes their percentage off of the total purchase price, including shipping and tax. Plus if you have a store then you have that cost, I am not sure why people say Ebay is so much less in fees.
@ Hmm maybe, Ebay always says how many of whatever type of item you are listing is being promoted when you go to list, I was surprised at the percentages they said were promoted.
I list a couple of things on Depop. As I mentioned during this live, I don't believe in adding another platform unless I can give it a full effort. Since I have limited time, I chose to list everything on the 2 platforms with the most users.
I Love your videos! I have a question. If you have a pair of jeans that say they are 38x30, the jeans actually measure 40x30. What measurements do you use? Help!
I don't have dimensions or weight on my calculated shipping because I don't package the items to know what package or weight it will be. How do you figure?
I weigh the item and then add the weight of the bags I normally use. I recommend weighing a box and bag so you know what to add to your weight estimate.
If you change a flat rate, eBay automatically changes the policy to that price for all listings using that flat rate policy. I just guess on shipping of previous items. I still haven't heard how you know shipping cost without the zip code. Maybe eBay knows my zip and when I look at your items, it shows me what MY cost would be?
That's only true if the seller has business policies setup, which most do not. Yes, ebay calculates based on the buyers address that is provided at checkout.
@@cayleyelaine No, I know that. I'm asking how do you have the shipping already listed before it's actually bought. From just looking at your store, the shipping cost is already listed.
@kyrasmith5554 when you put the dimensions and weight in the draft and you choose calculated shipping, the buyer will see their estimation based on those numbers. When I go to print the label for an order, the same info stays.
I just started selling two months ago. I do not offer free returns. I’ve sold 9 items. I’m not making a lot of profit on the items if I do free returns I would actually loose money because I don’t have bins near me so my cog is not low enough. So I don’t know what to do. I want to do free returns to sell more.

To each their own. 💛 I say if it works for you then that's great!

I never do free or discounted shipping. However, l do take advantage of Make a Deal day on Poshmark when Poshmark do the discounted shipping. 🥳💓💕
I do calculated shipping and free returns. I actually had a customer who told me that she will only buy from sellers who offer free returns.

Don’t forget that you pay eBay fees on shipping and taxes so I feel like the eBay discount kind of offsets that.

True, but most people don't use promoted listings on ebay.

Hi, I notice you only use the two platforms. I'd like to ask what's your opinion on curtsy and depop and/or why don't you list on those platforms??

I put the tag size in the title and drop downs but put actual measurements in the description.

You could do buyer paid returns as a happy middle.
How does fast shipping work through Ebay? For example someone that may need overnight or today shipping.
It’s an option on eBay
You can add it as an option on your listing.
Can returns be massively updated to free returns??
Yep! Just have to bulk edit your listings and change the return policy.
