- Tens of thousands in Myanmar took to the streets on Sunday (Feb 21) to protest against the country’s military coup, a day after the police and soldiers opened fire in Mandalay, killing two people. CNA's Leong Wai Kit tells us more.

Freedom is always hard earned with blood. Never take that freedom for granted, and always hold those in power accountable for their actions.
And most, if it's not all, of those protesters can't even differentiate between democracy and freedom..
Democracy is not exactly defined as freedom..
They are often used interchangeably but they are not synonymous..
Democracy is indeed a set of ideas and principles about freedom..
Democracy is the institutionalization of freedom..
Democracy is the law of freedom..
Part of the democracy is agree to disagree, self respect and mutual respect to each and every person but I found none of those in these people..
The behavior of these protesters had shown that they are not ready for democracy..
it is a slow process in order to apply in reality especially in country like Myanmar..
It can bring more harm than good if people do not fully understand what democracy is all about..
so, be aware of what you're asking for..

Given military of Myanmar has no traditions of willing to listen, they will shoot even more. The martyrdom of two other protesters simply examines this. Dear God, save my Myanmar.

Since the violence has escalated, NATO needs to come in and control things. The people do not want a military government. They have had it before. The international community doing nothing is wrong. We wish outside world to have a much better insight into how manipulation the military can creat to cover up the actual events which is happening right now in Myanmar. The country just started to crawling back from decades of suppression under military regimes, surprisingly being untouchable by any other countries to take actions on issues like human right and democracy moments. It is wise to note why these dictators are unbelievably wealthy , running so many different companies at different sectors of Myanmar economy.
UN peace keeping force should monitor the CDM protests. If possible military will take the people’s lives.
Yes, make sure protestors don't throw stones or use sharp objects to attack police, then everybody have peaceful demonstration.
That Angsun lady is no good either because she turned a blind eye on the atrocities against the minorities in Myanmar. I hope she doesn’t come back and once and for all Myanmar experiences true democracy.

Myanmar people have been fighting against the military since 1988, nearly 10,000 Myanmar people were killed by military at that time. Google 8888 uprising and 2007 saffron revolution, Rohingya is not the only victim, educate yourself.

There has also been another death recently. A night guard was in his duty time at the time and a car full of police/soldiers stopped in front of the guard. When the guard asked them where they're planning to go, one of the soldiers on the car aimed at the guard and shot him right through his face. The bullet poked through the guard's eye and skull and died on spot. PLEASE PLEASE I BEG YOU ALL TO HELP US STOP THIS INJUSTICE AND VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS. THIS IS EXTREMELY BRUTAL FOR soldiers to be over exercising their power and killing innocent citizens. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

The situation is chaotic. Both sides has their stories. The general public can judge for themselves. ASEAN has a non interference policy within member countries. I strongly believe member countries should engage with the military leaders. Find an amicable solution for the current crisis. Hoping for the best.🙏
