I just love extremely scholarly neurotic characters who’ve spent like thousands of years studying a science meeting a sorta unstudied carefree character who offhandedly says something that fully ensorcels the first character.

This always is a sort of trope...makes me think of the "virus" moment in Independence Day when drunk Jeff Goldblum's dad gives him an idea of how to fight aliens on their mothership.
If I had a nickel for every time Brennan introduced a black female NPC who was one of if not the most intelligent people in the campaign who becomes completely enraptured by a Zac Oyama character who’s intelligence could not be lower, I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t much, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Clearly Brennan has a type.

Everyone is having fun with this this but Gorgug did make an empathic beacon of hope to help his friends even though he was in a self induced bad trip, buried deep underground, and in a magical domain designed only to be navigated by following your darkest fears.... And. It. Worked. The mind unburdened indeed.
Gorgug was really pulling off magical feats that shouldn't have been possible purely because he was stupiud enough to try them
… yeah someone get Gorgug in some Wizard classes, let’s see if he takes to it. Could probably help studying magic from wizards as an artificer, so you can better understand the innate nature of the spell, maybe learn to think of how to use it more versatile rather than just recreating the effects of the base spell, stuff like that

@@TheThreeHeadedDragon Not simply talking raw power but as the ideal Image of Wizard: Kind, wise, mysterious, magical, bit mad. Again, these are just my top 5 favourite. I allow Dr Strange is a sorcerer (even though by D&D rules he's a Wizard).
I have not laughed harder this year than when I watched the whole bit of “make that 3” where Fig dismisses her Rawlins disguise for Ayda, and follows with “watch me run”
Between Ayda's laugh and Plug's laugh... Brennan is a genius at spectacular laughs
This reminds me of the episode of *Red vs Blue* where Caboose meets the AI guarding a world-destroying weapon & passes all the tests by being... well, Caboose. Carolina, Felix & Locus all tried to pass the tests & were bombarded with warped memories/personal fears that they couldn't overcome. But Caboose, not having a thought in his head or a care in the world, had a full conversation, made a new friend & was dubbed the greatest warrior alive

Honestly I love the idea of a character who's intelligence is so low, but their wisdom is so high they can sort of see the fractal pattern of reality all their life but learn not to question it. Especially when it comes to transcribing magical phenomena, rather than following a formula to create a result. For example, a wizard might be able to write a bespoke arcane spell to create firestorm with enough time, research and effort. A cleric can have access to firestorm because their deity wields it. A low intelligence barbarian may be able to idly doodle a scroll of firestorm because they saw a forest fire as a child and the weird patterns they see in life aren't important enough to question or concerning enough to ignore.
Can I just say that the first time I heard Aydas voice, I almost fell asleep from the pure gentle smoothness of her voice, or should I say Brennans voice

This was one of the first D20 clips I ever saw, and I remember having truly _no_ context for who Gorgug was or what it meant that he had cut the rope. I also remember _knowing_ that he wasn’t permanently dead in episode 2, because he hadn’t cut the rope and immediately regretted it yet lmao

I’m kinda sad that he took a level in artificer cause that means he broke his promise with Ayda
I think he got artificer by doing stuff not reading. Which I think is nice since he is like his adopted parents.
Artificer’s don’t get magic from book study technically so...technically not? He uses magic through his tools and mechanical knowledge. (As someone who’s played an Artificer before)
He did not study wizardry
He never read a single word of wizardry
I think Ayda would understand his situation with Zelda.
