A few extra tidbits to complement what we see on this episode. - Baek Yoonho, the fiery haired big guy, is the S-rank hunter that's the president/leader of the White Tiger Guild, we learned that when we saw him training back in ep 5. -The person Yoonho left behind on JuJu Island is the guy who was fighting alongside him against the ants back in episode 1, the ninja-like hunter with wolverine claws and electricity based powers. - That red-haired glasses guy is the S-rank president/leader of the Hunters Guild, being the only guild with two S-rank hunters (Chae, the blond girl with pretty eyes, works under him), and thus the strongest guild in Korea. -The purple haired B-rank hunter from the Hunters' Association had already appeared before, all the way back on the hospital during episode 3. He was the one who used the mana measuring device on Jinwoo to see if he had reawakened.
An explanation of this episode: While the source material is the novel, the anime is also fairly close to the manhwa. This episode consist to a big part of anime only scenes. But this is good! A big critics point of solo leveling always was that side characters barely got any backstory or noteworthy screen time. The anime does a way better job in showing them and giving them a personality. For example, if we strictly go by the Manhwa you wouldn't even know yet who Cha Hae-In, Baek Yoonho or Choi is because they will appear later in the story. The people who read solo leveling really appreciate this approach and even thought it feels slow and "boring", it's necessary for the world building and to actually care for the characters later. Nobody likes side characters without any background or personality. :)
@@AniMangHwa_ design is very close. They mainly differ in clothes that they wear (mainly SJW) and the faces are a little long for some characters. There is nothing that is majorly off. That moving pictures can't be as beautiful as a single shot in the Manhwa is obvious and logically. Solo leveling was praised into oblivion for the art, the anime never could hold up with this yet we get insane animations in the fights. For example you can't animate the "how" scene from ep6 like it was done in the Manhwa, yet they did a great job how they made it in the end. And the cerberus fight was way more impactful in the anime. Regarding character design let's wait and see how Cour 2 will look. Remember that after THAT ONE arc he will get a new haircut which would be a great chance for a new character design (the female (and male) reactors will be simping so hard)
@ArunChoudhary-official God of High School is more convenient to animated and the art style is not up there with Solo Leveling while Solo Leveling is just Top-God Tier Art it's hard to animate that shit and it's gonna be like 1 ep every month
These episodes need to be longer or come more frequently cause waiting for them each week is gonna be the death of me, I love how simple the plot is but the execution and animation is just done really right
In the manwa they show that Mr Song has an S rank as one of his students, the one we see that asked why he didn't retire as an hunter after losing his one arm
Yeah they really hold u for anticipation episode after episode like and I really had a moment with seeing the group from the beginning it's alot of emotion I was feeling at seeing the previous group from before like I'm overwhelmed 😳
Probably interesting for you (and others): There is like a making of special of solo leveling which shows some design drawings and it also shows several drawings of a character that will appear later at around chapter 100-105, currently we are at around chapter 30. So the making of pretty much confirms Cour 2/Season 2 if not even more. :)
@@FlexiejayAnime Exactly that's what I thought too and after surviving the dungeon in ep 6 or 7 one of his associates who was with him in the hospital heard of the raid, perhaps they are purposely trying to see if he's hiding his rank ,the mission doesn't seem coincidental 👀
Some of the hunter convicts were probably just normal prisoners who Awakened at random, there's no known way to predict or trigger someone turning into a Hunter, so they're grabbing anybody they can get in a situation like this where there's going to be a dungeon break (monsters escaping into our world) if they don't clear it.
Only the reactors had a problem. I just kept watching a new reactor each day episodes 1-7. I've watched around a dozen or so reactors now just for this series. So I'm not addicted or anything. In some series, the titles are misleading. That is they are intentionally chosen for the obvious but wrong reason and still apply to the episode in another way.
Ya this episode seemed very slow and a bit like filler which is odd in an anime season of only 12 episodes. Feels like the show started up very quickly and is now grinding at an awkwardly slow pace each episode. After the 12 eps its not going to feel very fulfilling I imagine.
They're doing more world building and getting side characters some content unlike the Manwha that only focused on Jinwoo. This makes the world actually feel alive.
They are adapting around 4 chapters of the Manhwa per episode, and actually the Manhwa isn't the source material but the light novel is. This episode (and the anime in total) adds a lot more back stories and show more of the side characters, which the Manhwa really was lacking. So the ones who read the manhwa really acknowledge the approach of the anime. Solo leveling just had an insane start, which maybe make you feel the pacing is off, but it's actually pretty consistent. Without these backstories and World building nobody would care about these side characters and it's just SJW does this, SJW does that.
@@JustinStrife But the crux of that is the 12 episode season. If you had 20+ episodes I feel like it would make more sense. With this few, you're leaving a lot of story and main character development behind.
@@julesvr5205 So long story short, this was a filler episode mostly. Some of the side characters are interesting, the guild masters and what not, but then you have scenes like the limo where the CEO is explaining to his son how guilds work.....the son who is a hunter who obviously knows how they work. Just to fill time.
