@@JP-wg1rt First I would make the sides not cardboard, it's offputting from the cleanliness of the front, as well as the recycle symbols on some of the fronts, most of then are fine but two have imprinted recycle symbols in the middle that looks like shite in my opinion, lastly LED strips are super cheap these days if you know where to shop, I would put an LED strip on every side inside instead of just one to improve the uniformity of the lighting. Hope this helps.
@@JP-wg1rt Well, I would cover all 3 internal edges with LED strip but if that isn't possible due to cost, I would at least paint the inner edges of the cardboard white or at the very least cover the inner edges with the aluminum foil (if you can't get white paint). This will make the "panels" more evenly lit and brighter over all. Also, I would paint or cover the external cardboard just to make it look more like a finished product. Also, if you crumple and uncrumble the foil a few times before applying it you will put thousands of little creases into it that will help diffuse the light even more evenly.
@@zachcrawford5 and maybe paint the outer edges... its personal preference but I think black or white would look better than cardboardy brown :) or use foam board... usually you get these cheap in a local store
Dang, pretty good! I would take the time to cut/solder the LED's so that all 3 sides of each triangle would be lit with LED's and have them hooked up to a wifi controller. I don't trust that if I tried to do the cardboard parts they would come out as clean and nice as this. So I might actually make that with wood. As for the backplate. If you cut to shape the entire object or atleast sections of it, then the back would act as another stabilizer holding it all together and you could cut less. If I make this its for the fun of making it, I honestly never saw the appeal in the nano leaf stuff.
led strips are like $20 - $30 for like 1 or 2 metres depending where you buy from, you only need like half a metre for this project so that's like $10 - $12 and the tinfoil is like $5 for the whole roll and you can get the other stuff lying around your house
If you want a free light ... open your damn curtain... seriously go pay 300$ for the ''real'' pure shit.... that is way cheap.... obviously it wouldn't be free but that is really nice
