Blah blah blah What a waste of time and resources, these apes are useless and cost alot to deal with. Tell me what they do besides eating swinging in trees, eating some more. What purpose do they serve? Don't give me the seed spreader nonsense either.

6-8 years. Of course, most of the infants that arrive at the rescue center have been forcibly separated from their mothers, so the rescuers have to do a lot to ensure they're getting the nutrition they need.
@@TealCamel Thank you Terry. Sometimes I'll b watching a video and see an infant suckling and also the sibling which i can't tell what age doing the same.
@Mike Wall It's true what Terry Gamel said, the orangutan with its mother will be around 6-8 after that she will be independent, but there are also some cases that it doesn't last that long because the mother gets pregnant too soon because she is forced to mate by lustful males.
@RubberSidEdoWN 799 all babies will go to rehabilitation appointed by the government, if we are adults and wild we will translocate to other better habitats
What are you talking about Liz? The macaques you see in videos are not in danger of extinction here. The IUCN lists them as threatened, not because of population, but habitat loss. Their population is actually increasing. There are some threatened species of macaques here, but most people will never even see a National Geographic episode featuring them, much less see them in person. The monkey video monkeys are a huge challenge for the people who have to live with them. You’re never going to see big action by the authorities for that reason. People tend to report the truly awful abusers. But foreigners flooding the authorities with tips about minor issues helps protect the really bad people who intentionally harm the animals. If you really want to help then support one of the domestication programs currently underway. Support research into food based sterilization technologies.
@Gravity Is Wrong you are very right, our difficulty is the limited habitat and infrastructure, we always look for new habitats every year that can support the life of orangutans and we protect that habitat by monitoring and patrolling
You must also understand the protocol used during rescue, they must be clinically tested, wild animals cannot survive in their habitat because they are still babies. Orangutans grow up around the age of 6-8 years

Incredible how relaxed the little orangutan is when the doctors are checking him out.
@rand quadrozzi
she has been given anesthesia so she doesn't stress during the examination
Its not good this is fake!!!!
He's such a well behaved little guy, for what he probably has been through.

This has to be so traumatizing and so scary for this baby
Is that Dr. Birute Galdikas in the video? If do, the baby is in very good hands. 👍
@Kim Absolutly she has decades of dedication in terms of orangutan rehabilitation

I have a question. At what age does a orangutan stop taking milk from Momma Orangutan? I enjoy watching your videos

Dr Birute Galdikas ?!! My Respects
@RubberSidEdoWN 799
betul, Dr Birute Galdikas sangat konsen untuk menyetujui orangutan, yayasan ini juga mitra kami.

Checking it over carefully, as would any doctor when a child has been abused.
IT TOOK THREE GROWN MEN TO HOLD DOWN A BABY ORANGUTAN THAT WAS NOT IN THE BEST OF HEALTH - CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW STRONG A FULL GROWN ORANGUTAN IS???
