Lol, the actor for Azula looks like a younger version of Achara. This looks very promising. I'm hoping Netflix doesn't fumble this, they did a good job with One piece, so I'm hopeful 🙏🏾
We’re going to see the Fire nations attack on the air nomads and I think with Azula being shown that they might show either flashbacks of her relationship with Zuko or maybe we’ll see her sooner than we originally thought. Though those fire nation soldiers flying up to the air temple looks sick, I can’t wait to see the actual bending.
Yeah that was the attack on the air nomads maybe we'll see them use dragons and as for Azula that's how young the actress is they actually made her age appropriate cause she's only 14 in the original series but I could see them making her look a little bit younger in flashbacks
I just hope they will made Aang's personality a Outgoing, Optimistic and a bit Goffy Playful Type of a Kid like in the Animation. Not in rhe Live Action Movie that make him a Dull.
The sad thing is, if you look at the behind the scenes for the live action film, when the actors for Aang wasn’t acting, he had the natural charm and goofiness of Aang.
We don't talk about that movie. Mainly cause it sucked as ATLAB movie. If they called it differently and named the characters differently it would have been a nice fantasy flick.... But they didn't so that's that.

I just hope Aang's personality will be like in the Animation Series. Optimistic, Outgoing, PlayFul, a bit Naughty and Sometimes Goffy and sometimes he can be a Pain in the Ass. Especially to his mentors and Friends. Aang can be a loose canon sometimes.
Only thing i'm worried about now is the character portrayals. I've not seen much humor or smiles except for the end of this teaser. Hopefully they capture the entire spectrum of personalities from the show, like Once Piece did. Otherwise, it's just a better M. Night version, where live adaptations mistakenly think they need to be more serious to be more realistic.

The show has a lot of ties Tibetan culture,history and Tibetan Buddhism. Even the original creators has mentioned it. As Tibetan this anime will always place special place in my heart. Ang- character is based on Dalai Lama Momo-tibetan dumpling is called momo/also Grand ma is called momo in tibetan Apa- means father in tibetan Gyatso- is last name of Dalai Lama in tibetan Tenzin Gyatso Many compare this story as fire being China and air being Tibet and ang (Dalai Lama being Tibetan in exile)
It's funny that you mentioned the Earth Kingdom looked Chinese, because I studied Hung Gar kung-fu (of course from China) and I always thought the motions in earth bending (from the cartoon) looked like they were based on Hung Gar movements or kung-fu movements in general.
I'm hopeful with this. I just hope they do it justice like the One Piece Live Action did. I will hold off expectations until either they give us a full trailer which shows some dialogue, or until I have watched the first episode.... They'll give us a proper trailer, right? like One Piece had the teaser and a proper trailer..... I'm also cautiously excited to see Yu Yu Hakusho live action (which I wasn't even AWARE of until I saw the trailer/teaser.....

The cast fits, I'm relieved about that. But this seriously was unnecessary for Netflix to do. Because the animation is too perfect to tamper with. I'll be honest, it doesn't look awful. I've recently finished all of One Piece to the end of the Land of Wano story and as a fan very much enjoyed the live action show and can't wait for season 2. I can't stop forgetting that time when the actual film was going to be released back when Avatar you know the one from James Cameron was coming out at the same time and they somehow change their name to just The Last Airbender or something because they knew that if they named it Avatar it would cause confusion in the marketing or some crap towards each other
While The original will always be amazing I think the live action could definitely improve on some things like: The pacing for stuff like Sokka's one day of sword training and the extreamly short buildup of his & Yua's relationship. Possibly switch round some of the gang's antics that happened as though still enjoyable/important they personally felt way too risky/impractical to me when it was so close to the big battle & they were literally hiding out in the Fire Nation. Altering the Avatar Day episode (as Kyoshi is cool & I loved detective Sokka but the town was annoying to a truly infuriating degree). Having Iroh act so flirty to June (because eww) & having the girls that hang off Aang during their visit to Kyoshi island look so young (instead of making them appear the same age as him, because it always felt silly to me for Katara to be jealous of what seemed to be six/eight year olds). As well as cutting out stuff like The Great Divide, Sokka entering a haiku battle (funny but useless) & Aang making that zoo in Ba Sing Sa (I get that he felt bad about the animals but it was boring). And lastly by adding stuff as original ATLA was limited by the 20 minute run time & the fact that it was supposed to be for children. Fleshing out Katara/Aang's + Zuko/Mai's relationship more, giving some actual closure to Zuko's missing mother storyline (instead of hoping fans look for that random comic about it), showing Zuko/Iroh actually interacting with Lu Ten, having Katara & Zuko appolige to Sokka & Aang for some of the stuff they said in the Southen Raiders episode, showing more of Azula/Mai/Ty Lee's dynamic (especially when they were at school together), more details about The White Lotus, more Kyoshi, utilising June a bit more, giving us a bit more backstory for Combation Man, giving us some kind of update on Smellabee & Longshot after Jet dies, more of Azula/Ursa's dynamic & Iroh/his brother's dynamic & Ursa/the fire lord's dynamic + more Roku/Sozon's story from Sozon's side to really see how his hunger for power could lead him to betray his best friend, actually show Ty Lee's sisters & giving Suki more personality than just being Sokka's GF/a Kyoshi Warrior - would all be ways to positively expand on the source material. Those are just my thoughts though.
Fire Nation Thai? I dont see the conection at all. To me Fire Nation is 100% Japan with some bits of Korea. Earth Kingdom is China, Air Kingdom looks like Tibet and Water Nation looks like Ainu/Siberian peoples-Inuits. Love you and your reactions btw!
I'm pretty cynical so I never get hyped. But I did think the music was doing its darndest to try and get me hyped, I'll give it that. Wait and see, Netflix funded one good live action show and we have no reason to suspect they were especially hands on, that isn't any kind of guarantee of quality. I raised my eyebrows at some of the casting but I will reserve judgement until I see the performances. Fingers crossed it will be good, the production values look solid.
Never saw the original animated show or its spin-offs. That's probably why I didn't find Shyamalan's live action movie half-bad. This show looks fun, I'm in! If this is more faithful, I wonder how it will change my perception of the movie. Maybe I don't care, because I don't half any nostalgic connection.
I think this casting is pretty dang good. I feel like if I was casting people for this role, the casting decision I would find most difficult for me would be Uncle Iroh, because he has such an iconic voice in my head that I couldn't separate myself from. That part would be challenging for me. So far this trailer looks awesome!!! 🔥🌊🪨🌪
and Dante Basco has a pretty iconic voice as well. But I think Paul Sun-Hyung Lee has got what it takes. He's got a great fatherly roll in Kim's Convenience that shows he can be comedic and goofy and his roll as Captain Carson Teva shows he can also be serious. He's got the range to pull it off. I think it's all down to the writing.
