We can’t wait for this slower lifestyle. We are going to retire in Italy and are so excited. We even started a channel about it! 😊. Thank you for sharing these. We really enjoy your videos!

I already did! I went back to college in my 60s and was afforded the opportunity to study abroad in Florence. Came in 2015, stayed an extra year and then returned to the States to acquire another Visa and get rid of everything I own that wouldn't fit into my suitcases. Got my citizenship (Jure Sanguinis - my dad was Sicilian) in 2021. I am now 72 and it is the BEST DECISION of my life. Much cheaper rent, great food, great friends, parks and piazzas everywhere, and no need for car, and no fear walking my dog in the Strozzi Gardens at night.

I find myself slowing down (aging). It makes life much less stressful. Wonderful tips. Italians live a great lifestyle (most anyway). I love it!!! Thanks much. 🥰🥰🥰

I hear you! With years I find myself changing and being drawn more and more to nature, quiet places, slower pace. If someone told me even a few years ago that I would be thinking about living in the countryside or on an island - I would never believe them! I was always attracted to big cities and fast pace… but times change and we change with time…

i'm happy for your experience and of course you can have it in Italy but at the Age of fifty eight i'm still hard working. I remember my experience working in New York, in the nineties: here People walk fast but work slow.

Amazing video, valuable information! You are gorgeous, as always, Anastasia!!! Thank you for your creativity, for your warmth and smile!!! It seems that Italians live as if they do not have depression, as if everything always goes as it should. I, too, always fly at high speed, and especially in resort towns it is difficult for me to adapt to the slow way of life. ❤

I love all of your videos. I was just in Rome recently my first time and I loved it! Except the trains, too many pickpockets, etc. But I loved the food, the fashion, the architecture, art, the people. I also went to Venice and the island of Burano. And Im curious if your blouse might be from Burano? I love it!

Thank you so much🙏 Even though with years I lean more and more towards artisanal boutiques and bespoke ateliers, I make an exception for some exceptional brands and one of them is Zimmermann. That’s where this blouse is from😊 Hope you had the most special time in Italy and will be back soon for more food, fashion, fun and memories!

Hi.. Thanks for all your videos 😊 should I wait to go to Rome in september 2026 insted of september 2025. I was in Rome in may, but I never come into the colosseum, where i buy my tickets, they change the date three times so I missed it.

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Based on what you shared, the most important is finding reliable websites to purchase your tickets from. I talked about this topic a lot in one of my latest videos: th-cam.com/video/EeywFO1p6Dw/w-d-xo.html Of course, next year is a Jubilee year in Rome, so it will be very crowded but you can still come and enjoy as long as you have all the tickets, tours, activities, etc booked far in advance and on trusted websites. You can also work with a travel agency to organize all of this for you. Here is a link to my travel agency in Italy: fabulousvita.com

I'm leaving soon after a month reconnecting with my roots, at age 74 I can tell you that many older people can hardly walk and poverty is evident. As much as the fresh food is amazing, there is a lot of struggle here. I watched the news today and have spoken to many locals..the increase in poverty is terrible and they have a crisis with youth depression and lack of opportunity.

Local fresh food markets. For example, in Rome my favorite is Campagna Amica Market on Via di S. Teodoro 74. I featured it in this video: th-cam.com/video/vCvK45fArGM/w-d-xo.html

In qualsiasi supermercato di qualità. Trovi sia pasta che olio per tutti i prezzi. I mercati Campagna Amica vanno bene per i prodotti freschi e qualche particolarità.

As an Italian resident I'm sorry to say that this video talks about stereotypes. And you make the typical mistakes that foregners do: thinking that what you see in a city is the same in other cities. No way, mate.
1 - Slowing down? Where did you see people slowing down in working days? You probably refer to tourists rather than to residents.
2 - Going for a walk: yes, it's wonderful. But people tend to do it during bank holidays. If you work, you don't have time for a walk unless you are a public employee and have no family responsabilities.
3 - Seasonal food is only for vegetables. Of course. I'd say fresh vegetables and fruite. How can you say that seasonal food has not chemicals? Unless you have your own garden, vegetables and fruit have chemicals and preservatives!
4 - When I heard the supposed habit "dolce fa niente" I really got upset. Are you serious when you say that you've been living in Italy for 10 years? Where and when did you see people doing sweetly nothing?
5 - Sundays: I've travelled a lot all around the world and I've noticed that in every single country sundays are dedicated to relax and family.
I apologize for my comments. I tried to be polite. Try again.

I am Italian from the North and I also lived in the US. I guarantee you that the way of living is quite different and any Italian would recognize it. The video doesn’t say that Italians don’t work, but that they work and live differently. They appreciate the small things and value social life more.

Dear friend, I'll tell you the meaning of the word ozzio as opposed to its opposite: "In ancient Rome, idleness (otium) and shop (negotium) were two antithetical realities.
As can be seen from the same morphological structure of the two Latin words, the second derives from the other: negotium is the negation of idleness, since: nec-otium = non-idleness."
For the Romans, idleness was not doing nothing but a moment to reflect on one's things and oneself, therefore it was a break from business (nec-otium ).

You clearly go around touristic places a lot because, let me tell you, we DO hurry a lot! Sure, when I'm just chilling I (and every other italian) might walk slowly and enjoy the sights but during a regular day when I am commuting to my job? You better not stop in front of me or slow me down because you are going to be rudely pushed aside! Ti asfalto proprio...
