Exactly, I did it too for so long. We even have (although mostly past tense now) this dynamic some evenings where he will get home, and I will be like "ooh, wonder if he wants to talk for a while" and he will literally be in a nope (confirmed by a mutually agreed upon busy status for communication) that, as SOON as I shift into doing whatever for me, he will feel it and go "ooh, let's hang out." It's a trip to watch the shifts in real time.

The masculine in my mind and my dad are very eerily similar when it comes to their traits.. both positive and "negative". I also have a father wound that Im trying to heal.. does he represent this wound like how it happens many times, if so.. can me waiting for him to be better be an expression of that father wound? because it happens when we are kids and we wait for our dad to love us,to do better and we justify..
I feel lost not being able to discern whether this is me believing things from my wounding.. if you can help me understand Id be incredibly grateful
