Well, we do know that he was just expecting for this to be the only game in the series, and Maleficent was planned to be the final boss before they decided to add Ansem to please the FF fans.
@@superlombax1561 Exactly, but, seriously, being a FF fan or not, it has been better that an unique character - beside what he has become, was meant to be the final boss. The first KH was a lot more FF-ish, the other ones are a lot more Disney-oriented, and this is really evident: KHI is a lot more darker, with more malinconic vibes; the others, are lighter in this way, and less melodramatic (not talking about the story, of course).
@@simonesantamato7290 Tbh, I always felt the first KH was the most Disney-like in the series, while later entries of the series were more FF-like. There’s a certain “innocence” in KH1 that resembles the essence of Disney animated films. It might have to do with the protagonists having more child-like personalities opposed to the teenage ones later on, unique world locations like Traverse Town are more cartoonish than future unique worlds like Radiant Garden, and the plot was fairly simple revolving around this dichotomy of light vs dark compared to the more elaborate storylines that cropped up later on with Organization XIII, the unversed, and now a parallel world called Quadratum. One thing I did notice is that in KH1, there was a cathedral theme (such as the numerous stained glass windows during the dive to the heart segments) that was slowly dropped as the series went on. It’s too bad imo, because I thought it bridged the artstyles of Disney and FF wonderfully.
I would like to say that what he had in he’s head were drugs, but he doesn’t look like the type. After careful examination I would say that Nomura was influence by sleep deprivation hangovers and Red Bull and coffee infused workdays. It’s evident by the incoherent and crazy writing.
I really found cool and interesting the fact that those are technicaly born from the spell "holy". As in, something like that got corrupted? Things are bleak.
Now imagine watching every movie, TV show, and video game depiction of Order 66 cut together in one video, but with this song playing in the background.

Funny how the original KH1 Midi sounds even more orchestrated than the actual orchestrations.
They’re trying to do too much with the music in more modern titles. They should stick to the KH1 format for good scores. Simple & clean.
