Daniel, I can relate to that feeling very well. In fact, that's how I felt throughout most of my 20s, both in my personal life and professional career. It was a sense of stagnation that lingered until my late 20s when everything unexpectedly changed within the span of a year, not exactly how or when I had anticipated. Reflecting on those periods of "pause," I now realize their significance in shaping my journey. As I entered my 30s, I discovered the value of those moments of stillness and became grateful for them, making the most out of those opportunities. In fact, I consider myself fortunate to experience such stillness. With age, more pauses naturally arise, and these periods provide invaluable time for learning, growth, experimenting, creativity, and finding balance. The truth is, once you commit to permanent decisions like marriage, homeownership, or starting a family, additional pauses are sure to come, or you may discover new aspirations. It's an ongoing cycle. At your age, you possess a level of maturity, life experience, success, and independence more than most. Enjoy the stillness, use it as time to reflect, learn and grow, and you’ll end up where you need to be.

Definitely felt like my life was on pause for a while. I graduated and then couldn't find a job for 8 months and a couple days ago, I finally found one that goes exactly in the direction I want to and it made the wait and the struggle worth it ! Like you said, keeping a positive mindset and pushing forward was key.

I completely feel you. I’m 55yo and always did what I (thought I) wanted, changing jobs and taking the ones I wanted, but at the same time always feeling unsatisfied (that’s why I kept changing jobs). Until one day I heard someone saying that it was a mistake to chase the job we wanted to do; that what we had to do is to think of the kind of life we wanted to have, and then look for jobs that allowed us getting that life. It was kind of a revelation, and allowed me to stop that “always chasing” way of life I was having my entire life. Now I’m working towards having a job that will lead me to the life I want. Being in “chase” mode might not be the same that being stuck, but both might lead to frustration. Thanks for the vibe of your videos. Big hug from Spain. On behalf of my 4 dogs too 🐶

My (now) wife and I were in a long distance relationship for 3 + years. She was in the US and me in the UK…the whole time it felt like our lives were on pause! If it helps…it’s worth the ‘pause’ and we’re stronger for the experience!

I get where you were going! And you hit the nail on the head with being grateful. It took me a while but I realized if i verbally process what I’m grateful for; i can feel the heaviness of feeling stuck actually leave. Then I can do what I need to do!
Because honestly it’s the story of our life. We will always GET and always WANT. It doesn’t go away; which is why gratitude must be a lifestyle. I’m thankful you show us how to be DOPE AF!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about feeling like life is on hold and reminding us that we're not alone in experiencing this. I can really relate to that feeling right now as I'm getting close to finishing my master's degree later this year. I can't wait to be done with studying, move to a new city, find a bigger place that feels like home, and start a new chapter in my life. I also believe it's okay to feel this way as long as we keep working towards our goals and appreciate these moments, while being grateful for how far we've come.

I stopped worrying about getting furniture I like haha. I want the longtime to keep piece painting and lamp? I get it as long as I can afford it.
I totally get you! Some days for me here is home and some days it is not...love and hate. My family is in Norway.

For a while I also felt my life was on pause and for a while that my dream was taken from me cuz I had taken a break from school for a bit. It was just me being in a bad mental state. But having that “pause” or freedom of having time to my own, not having to worry about classes and just exploring and experimenting new things, ideas, and hanging out with friends and family literally has transformed my life for the better. I feel like a brand new person and I feel like it’s important to take a pause in life (if we can) or if we get those moments. At first it seems like a bad thing or upsetting but with time, in hindsight, that pause seems like the best thing ever. It makes you realize your true self, your true ideas, goals, and just resets yourself.

I feel this so much! I graduated last year and I'm not yet able to move on, in the literal sense. I'm still in the town and the house I was in for uni and I can't move out yet because I haven't found the right job yet. Thankfully, I do have a job but it's not where I want/need to be. In time, things will change. The only constant in life is change.

Been in the same situation. You will miss the routine and the stability of it all. You will have a lot of time in your hands, but please reflect on what you want to do next. Maybe do creative things or a small online shop. Or start that one project you've been thinking about for so long. This transition period is an opportunity most people do not have, make the most out of it.

Daniel, this past year I have related so much with what you're going through. I have been putting things off until I complete my degree for the past two years and I am close to finishing now but I could have still been working on my hobbies and goals instead of simply waiting. Now I've been working on making videos, working out a lot more, as well as planning some traveling this summer to make sure time is not being wasted while learning new skills. The way I see it time doesn't wait for anyone and anything could happen to us at any moment so it's better to live and enjoy each moment

Daniel, agreed on "life being on pause". It's something I've found myself sitting within for the last year. A couple books have helped me understand this feeling. I May Be Wrong by Bjorn Natthiko Lindeblad and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Worth checking out.

I don't think I'd use hangers with the wide end caps for trousers. They're designed for suit jackets to keep the shoulder shape filled, but with trousers you're going to be fighting with them being uncentered, which makes the hangers not line up evenly, and it's much more noticeable with the wide end hangers vs hangers with a uniform thickness. Still think using natural wood is a good idea though, I have the natural wood hangers from container store in my closet

Hey Daniel, there is one particular thing that many older friends of mine started when they felt like their life was on hold, which is learning an instrument. Music is one of the only things that you can practice almost wherever you are, at almost any time and you always have a next goal to look forward to and work towards. I have personally been playing violin since I was five years old, and it has connected me with so many people, helped me through so many hard times, I wouldn't be the same person without it.

This is the last place I expected to be making a comment on this topic, but I am so glad you recorded that segment on feeling stuck! What you said had me sat on my sofa stunned because you more or less described how I feel, and a the very similar situation I find myself in currently, particularly around location! I've been living in Hong Kong for 7 years now, and as much as there is so much I love and the countless fond memories I have, it just isn't for me anymore. I too feel like my life is on pause, and it just effects every aspect of life day to day. Constantly making compromises or decisions with the thought 'I will do that later when I am settled in the right place' can drive you insane! I have already taken the plunge and decided I am returning to my home (the UK) and I really hope this is the start of building towards what I really want in life. Thanks so much for that segment, if anything it just reaffirmed that I am making the right decision and the fact it is simply not healthy to stay in this state of feeling stuck. Make a plan, and get out! Wishing you all the best bro!

I totally understand the feeling of your life is on pause. I am 22 and my father and I decided that our trajectory together is going to be to open a cafe together but that takes time to wait for the right cafe to go for sell and blah blah blah. I live in California and so being able to purchase a home feels like such a long shot away but I want so badly to build a home and have a home of my own with my partner. Even so much as getting an apartment together right now is impossible. You're not alone, we just have to try and enjoy the waiting room as much as we can right now and take advantage of it!

You're not really part of their everyday life and they are not really part of yours.
Its missing all the little things that happen everyday.
And not being able to enjoy your time alone because it would be so much better with that other person.
Life kind of pauses and only continues when you're with them.
Its holding off your happiness for some unknown time in the future.

Dude I wish I had watched this when it had first come out, because holy shit that "life being on pause" segment really hit home for me right now. I'm currently taking a gap year after my first year of college, and I might end up having to take another one. While I know this is for the best, and that my year (or two) spent working, learning about myself/pursuing hobbies I didn't have time for while in school, and figuring out how to live as a self-sufficient adult will be rewarding and pay me back later down the line, it does suck that I'm going to be behind all of the friends I've made in terms of graduation and whatnot. I'm really just trying to remind myself that the path that's marketed as the default isn't automatically the best for me, and you saying that it's okay to feel like your life is on pause came at a good time. I hope everything with moving to America works out for you man, if you ever open a brick-and-mortar store in New York, maybe I'll make the trip to visit from here in Massachusetts :) Best of luck in all your endeavors and thanks for the fantastic content, take care of yourself

You should get a wooden dowel to replace the metal rod for hanging the trousers. It wouldn’t bend in the middle and it would add some more contrast to that space

As far as the sheets go.. they’re all lying 😄.. changing them is always shitty. And mate, in the past I’ve been in a long distance for about 2.5 years so I can kinda relate to what you are feeling but believe me.. you’re actually moving forward as we speak and in a couple of years you’re gonna look back and see how far and fast you’ve moved forward since then ( now ). Cheers! 💪🏻

About the pillow recommendation, I forgot the name but get some pillows with bamboo inside, bc it has great compression but still remains plush and it is great

Loved the video Daniel! Will you be releasing your new trackies (the untapered one) in navy?

Tip to AVOID CHANGING DUVET SHEET REGULARLY and still have CLEAN sheets: use a flat sheet between you and the duvet (like a hotel does).
    1. Considered more luxurious
    2. Better in London summer
    3. Reduce need to wash and change duvet sheet regularly (which we all know is the main pain)

im in my early 30's and i still feel like I'm in a constant transition in my life, from relationships, to places and even the work. I feel like it's constantly evolving into (hopefully) something wonderful, but it's definitely tiring. I'd take your moment of stagnation, doing what you can in those moments and embracing that time to focus on the work and/or peace in front of you.

I got the posture pillows from ikea, they are like $50 a pillow but amazing for your back and neck.
