I'm so glad I've found your channel. This is the first tutorial of yours that I've completed and I'm looking forward to seeing more. Very informative, relaxing and time just flies by! Btw Instead of adding transform at 21:00, you can uncheck the "Consolidate seam" option in the mirror node and it disconnects the shared edges.
You can change the subdivide algorithm to "OpenSubdiv Bilinear" and it won't change the shape. It will just add more resolution to each axis. Great video again. :))
You're one of the best houdini instructor on youtube. You explain everything in an understandable way. I have just one question: I'm trying to guide a simulation on a sphere using a twist node and tweaking the "lenght scale" parameter, but when I run the simulation it doeasn't move at all (use guide checked). Whyyyy?
Sorry for the late reply, for some reason UT didn't send me notifications for some of the comments. Uncheck Distance to Strength and pump up the Strength parameter to something crazy like 100, just for a simple test to see if everything is wired up properly. If so, you should see some action, but a lot of vibration.
I did another video showing that starting around 3-4 min mark (the link is timestamped to start exactly where I add the force): th-cam.com/video/jTsanNmte-E/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!
Transferring UV's between different geometries can be tricky, but I've done it before with 2 identical geometries. I've never transferred UV's from two different geometries (different polycount). But you can try to use the attributeTransfer node and see if that will help you.
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification from TH-cam! In H19.5, I believe SideFX changed some the UI a bit for the RBD Solver Guided Collisions, its now in the Advanced tab for some reason, but I'm working on a newer updated RBD video that will come out soon and it'll have some more exciting things.
@@Damich Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification from TH-cam! Sadly, H19.5, changed some the UI a bit for the RBD Solver Guided Collisions, its now in the Advanced tab for some reason, but I'm working on a newer updated RBD video that will come out soon if I ever finish editing. BUt it'll have some of the newer updates too, like motionclips modifying RBD sims and it'll include the guided sim similar to this video.
of all the hundreds of tuts I've watched learning new software and techniques, yours have been one of the easier to get
Thanks so much for the gracious comment!
Excellently explained. You are one of the best houdini teachers online.
Thanks!! And you're the best for watching!
thanks so much for these awesome tutorials that you are doing. They are very clear, simple to follow and learn.
Thanks so much for the generous comment!

oh! I did not know that! Thank you for sharing! This will come in handy.
Another excellently explained tutorial. I appreciate it so much, thank you.

nice!, how can we add force like wind to the rbdbulletsolver
I did another video showing that starting around 3-4 min mark (the link is timestamped to start exactly where I add the force):

Great tutorial but I dont think you need the boxes surrounding everything you are talking about. Its a little distracting.
It doesn't work in Houdini 19.5.
Yes I have the same problem

BTW - one of the most craziest idea is to use FEM simulation to guide Bullet )
NICE IDEA! I'm gonna play around with this. If the next video gets delayed, you'll know why now LOL I get distracted very easily.
