Dang, you are alright with someone family to have something horrible happen to them but a snake eating his meal is to much? I think you might have your morales in a twist.
I am sick of seeing people spread their lies/ignorance about feeding live. It's all about preference. Mostly the snakes preference. Many snakes simply will not eat F/T food. Period. As long as live prey is of appropriate size and the feeding is supervised then there should be no issue. It's only when you leave the prey item alone with the snake for hours that something could happen.
I know that snakes are supposed to eat animals, it's nature and I know that. What I hate about this is when assholes post videos of the guinea pigs suffering, so people can entertain them selves with it. It's sick. I'm an animal lover, I own many animals, but I can't feed a snake an animal. I'm too sensitive for that.
Oh my god!!!!! Whay are some people so goddamn stupid!!! Snakes eat smaller animals. Spiders eat flies, cats eat mice, dogs eat rabbits, wolves eat lambs. Its predation, something that has occurred for all time. What did you people think you were going to see in this video??? A snake and Guinea Pig playing cards!?!?!? Don't watch it if you dont like to see it. And for the record, yes snakes can eat pre killed food.... doesn't mean they will!!!! I had a python that would only eat live rodents!
I gotta agree with RemylJones. My boa was getting frozen rats, but she's turning her nose up at them now. A live feeding or two and she should be back on frozen.
ive had about 60 snakes so far in my life and i feed live, and ive never once seen any damage to my snakes or have any parasites. all my snakes have lived to the maximum age limit for there species so i think feeding live is ok. frozen thawed is just too boring, the main reason i got a snake was to see it in action, not have them just sit around there whole lives doing nothing. live prey all the way.
That one really struggled, more than most. Was it a poor wrap or a tough guinea pig? It took a good minute and 20 seconds before it lost consciousness and the agonal gasps began.
@Bulif you've obviously never had one. They're a very cool, low maintenance pet. Also, it's funny watching people freak the fuck out when you have a 5 foot boa
I appreciate your sympathy for animals, but I would ask, do you give animals any credit for intelligence? This snake is a professional hunter in and out of the wild. It holds the prey in such a way that it can't be bitten. I think a snake can understand the difference between the people that keep it and it's dinner.
They can in fact some one even eat a prekilled animal. It's more of your preference unless you have a picky eater. Live animals can often make dreadful screams the entire time they are being constricted and could be dangerous do the snake if not watched carefully.
@smo2445 I'm a good keeper (I own a ball python) and I always feed live. As long as the feeding event is supervised, there is nothing unethical, or immoral about it, nor is it dangerous to the snake.
Seriously no good breeder or keeper feeds live. Sure its a little entertaining to see the power of snakes but watch animal planet. I've only fed my ball live twice to get him back onto frozen after a five month fast. Sure in the nature they eat live, but in nature they don't live in a glass cage with artificial lighting. Save some money and your snake and feed frozen thawed. Btw I will give you some props for the cage setup, I wish I had time to actually make a cool cage like that.
not cruel!!! its a feeder guinea pig. and he said it only ate live. the snake has to eat or it die. and snake make very good pet, dont have to give full attention and care like mammals and get a lazy hog. just feed and water and u get a cool-looking python!! simple as that, of course some people are scared of snakes but i like snakes and arez giving u advice! PCE
Gah, I don't know how you feed it with live food, I have 2 snakes, Red Tail Boa and Black Mexican King, don't get me wrong, it know its the food chain and everything, I just wouldn't have to heart to feed them live food. Mine don't mind frozen though, but they're still fussy, as my BMK won't even touch a rat, and my RTB wouldn't even entertain a mouse.
Freshly killed or frozen (thawed, of course) rodents will keep your snake free of unnecessary wounds. Cornered rats bite like crazy. (You would too.) Frozen foods also help keep your snake free of parasites.
I know snakes need to eat and everything (my sister has one) but this is just........... i feel horrible watching this!!! the poor little guy struggling...... :'(
Although Youre NEVER supposed to feed and snake in their cage , becaue then when you try to pick him/her up out of the cage they will think youre feeding them and bite you .
First of all, owning such an animal is irresponsible and I have the utmost disdain for anyone who owns one, knowing half of them a-holes will end up releasing it in the wild, endangering native wildlife. Hopefully, one day, anyone who "liked" this video, will be rounded up and released as game for other humans, now THAT would be sport.
@MasonC2K That's right keep on rationilzing having a 'pet' snake that you have to feed with live 'prey'....is that the horse before the cart??? don't have a snake at all--they are not pets--they are wild animals. You make a mockery of the word 'preference'.
take away the cage and thats nature its no different... your just making sure that your snake WILL survive. in the wilderness its just the same. Damn idiots who think animals eating is inhumane... get your ass in that cage and wait for your snake owner to feed you something and how would you feel?
Food: rodents. The only physical activity that he remain in a terrarium are hunting because seek prey, catch and kill exercise are important for an animal that is because muscles. We advise give prey live if you can, under surveillance so that the snake bite is done. But be aware that a snake that is hungry, and accustomed to full health will not bite LyracBOOMBOOM
Why would you endanger the life of your snake feeding live? And why post it? You are killing our hobby! This is why it is being legislated out of existence!!! If you have a brain people, THINK!
good vid... but I wanted to hear it scream while being constricted.. music sucks.

Snakes will attack and consume anything they're capable of swallowing whole. Anything is fair game, depending on the size of the snake.
I like the video but would have been much better without the music. Nice snake too!
beautiful snake love the video
Awesome snake! It makes me sick that some people don't understand that snakes need to eat. Sorry people, snakes don't eat salad.
Oh my god!!!!! Whay are some people so goddamn stupid!!! Snakes eat smaller animals. Spiders eat flies, cats eat mice, dogs eat rabbits, wolves eat lambs. i love guinea pigs and snakes but this just crual

that is a real beautiful boa.

how did you make that??
Absolutely love the tank set up bro. I own a RTB myself. Plan on custom building her a tank before too long.
Nice snake, ignore these stupid haters, crying about the circle of life.
nice snake and beuatiful tank you have :)
That one really struggled, more than most. Was it a poor wrap or a tough guinea pig? It took a good minute and 20 seconds before it lost consciousness and the agonal gasps began.

how old are they when they are fully grown?
Shouldn't feed her on the substrate, she ate a lot of it that time.
actually she only eats the living, I tried the frozen, nothing to do is stay eight months without food for that I give her the living.
Take the music of i wanna hear the guinea pig squeal.
Snakes are really fucked up.
I appreciate your sympathy for animals, but I would ask, do you give animals any credit for intelligence? This snake is a professional
hunter in and out of the wild. It holds the prey in such a way that it can't be bitten. I

Whats the song called? I'd like to know.
nice cage, nice boa
They can in fact some one even eat a prekilled animal. It's more of your preference unless you have a picky eater. Live animals can often make dreadful screams the entire time they are being constricted and could be dangerous do the snake if not watched carefully.
Its fascinating to watch this, to see how the snake can live on its own with precision and patience,it is very brilliant.
dude you really need to post this video with original audio
@smo2445 I'm a good keeper (I own a ball python) and I always feed live. As long as the feeding event is supervised, there is nothing unethical, or immoral about it, nor is it dangerous to the snake.
@bkrbkrl
Do you eat you're stake cold ??
I don't...

snake as a pet is the second most dumb thing in the world beside war
I know snakes need to eat and everything (my sister has one) but this is just........... i feel horrible watching this!!! the poor little guy struggling...... :'(
