Jonny, rebuild the joint on your Miroku !!!!!! You know how to do it, you know it will provide for another century of service and you know it's bad form to shoot a gun in need of servicing. So fix the gun. I would also suggest that you give Ant's EELL a thorough cleaning and a bit of a touch up to the wood. Because if Ant actually sees his EELL in it's full glory then perhaps he'll start taking proper care of it.
I’ve got an old Miroku 900 and a new Silver Pig and love them both. Use them both for hunting and the Miroku is my long range gun with 30inch barrel and the Baretta with 28 my close fast action gun.
Good guns both worth having. Not tried a miroku yet. Got a silver pigeon though which i love but not as much as my caesar guerini. Would never sell it though. 😊. Keep bringing us these brilliant video jonny. And the small Yorkshire pudding. 😅🤣
Great vid. Not much separates both brands. Comes down to fitment and preference. I was after a Silver pig and was recommended to check out Miroku. I picked up a 1995 made MK10 G5 for half of new price and it fit me like a dream.
I really liked my silver pig adjustable, but absolutely love my MK38 sporter, changed out the butt pad and have a trap forend, all good. I love the clunk!! Great video lads.
I like the honest admission of rust on the gun after weeks in a press and then out shooting again .I'd be slightly like that when I shot but now retired .But of course premium guns such a miruku and Beretta are high quality smokepoles and that's the difference great video 👏👏🇨🇮
Perhaps The recoil you're talkin about on the Miruku is because it's got some play in it? I have a Miruku and it started feeling like it was slamming me more when it loosened up
I had a Miroku which I often wasn’t able to shoot my second barrel. I was told that I hadn’t released the trigger properly, but I never had that problem in my Berettas. A good friend had exactly the same problem with his!
Prefer beretta to look at, had a EELL. Can’t shoot it anymore as my body shape changed and i can’t get one to fit! Gone to miroku as it fits perfectly and I’m totally converted!! It shoots like a dream and is bulletproof 💪🏻
I've been a Browning owner my whole life, and I finally encounter a bad one a new 725 Sporting, after three different issues with the gun, that one had to go. I recently picked up a used 725 and so far so good with this one. FYI Browning's service which hasn't been the best in turn around time these days was actually very good for me.
I love how Beretta o/u guns look. And now the big however... Beretta o/u guns just do not fit me like a Miroku does out of the box. Yes, yes, they could be made to fit, of course. And now they come with a stack of plastic doodads to try to accomplish that, but the time and trial and error of that process. What tells a lot about Miroku's quality is that when Browning first went to Miroku for manufacturing, there were a lot of there goes the brand comments. Those didn't last long. If you're going to buy a gun to shoot it and shoot it hard you will be hard-pressed to find one that goes bang as many times without fail as a Miroku.
I was always beretta for years ,until I.picked up a miroku ,now my 2 go to guns are a mirouki mk11 side plate 30inch And my clay smasher mk38 grade 5 32inch sporter both fitted with teauge titanium chokes and dam they shoot so good still got 2 berettas and had loads over the years but miroku are better finished better wood and better handling
Couldn't get on with the low comb beretta, so bought a Miroku MK38 Sporter. Loved it, just had to sell as its getting heavy as I'm getting older. Looking for a lighter 12bore that's like a Miroku?
Any gun you shoot well and it fits you , is a gun you should shoot.. I've owned at least 10 different trap guns , most I could shoot well and take trophys. Barrettas ive had a combo , top single this one I won a handicap shoot in high winds with a 94 x 100 and got a yard &a half punch.Rottweil unsingle 34" several brownings a stainless bt99 which took me to the grand. A Perazzi mx200034 unsingle that gave me a All American team membership.. Stick with the ones you shoot well..
Hi Jonny, Good morning. Thanks for this gun vs gun video. One more gun vs gun I personally would like to see is Fabarm Elos Allsport VS Rizzini BR110 sporter. Currently I own one of these, but really want to see the comparison of both of these against each other. I'd do it, but can't afford it. HAHA. All the best,
Small price to pay, i am sold miroku know that they can sell the guns with harder wearing pins- but they make a gun that runs forever so they need some aftermarket sales😂
I bought a brand new beretta silver pigeon 3 last year and it spent more time at GMK than I had it. Ejected the bottom cartridge into the breach, the ‘high gloss’ finish flaked off and the fore end broke. I’ve just bought a Miroku and I love it, pound for pound the stocks are about 3 grades higher too! I’ve got more figure than most Beretta stocks now.
I can't tell you how relieved I was when the elephant in the room was finally and clearly identified in this video... the fact that both of you don't have a clue how to pronounce "Miroku". So I will promise one thing right here and now. When we finally get you to Japan, prior to taking you on a tour of the Miroku factory, you and I will spend an evening over several sturdy beers (IPA being my preference), we will cover various underlying issues such as history, culture, linguistics and colonialism; and regardless of whether we get to the bottom of why people of certain nationalities routinely murder the pronunciation of foreign words or not... one thing I do promise. By the following morning you will know how to pronounce Miroku correctly!!! And I guarantee that it will sound nothing like the way you have pronounced it up until now. :) Here's to hoping this dream of mine comes true! And thanks for yet another fun video.
I've had a Winchester 101 Trap gun for 50yrs. Had 3 Beretta Skeet guns in the last 25yrs. Looking for an older Win 101 for a Skeet gun. Win 101 (Miroku) =10 Beretta =8
Beretta for me, I've been to the factory myself. I wonder if other brands (ie miroku) could keep the same level of quality having that big of a production.
Considering Beretta are mostly machine made guns clicked together it's hardly a big feat to "keep quality", would be far harder for Miroku who hand finish/smoke in and sight barrels- which says a lot considering they are renowned for top level quality/reliability
Can you do a review on the Fossari CRX9 BSS if you can get your hands on one? Been looking at this brand with boss style action and removable trigger. It seems to be a lot of BANG fir the buck. Would love to get your perspective on it. Thank you.
For me, aesthetics plays a big part in my appreciation of a shotgun. I find both my Beretta 682's very pleasing to the eye, and they shoot as well as they look. Here in the USA we have perhaps the the best Beretta warranty service there is in Cole Fine Guns and Gunsmithing in Naples, FL. As far as the Miroku is concerned, if you had a dog that was that unattractive, you'd probably be tempted to shave its hindquarters, and make it walk backwards.
Johnny you need to sell that m38 and get a new one. I have sold two 725 sporters and regret it. Some day in the near future I plan to get another. Don't get me wrong I obviously upgraded and shoot it really well.
Had a Lanbar 2087... conservatively, I would've put 40000 shells through it. Never failed me. Meanwhile, the Miroku mk10 I traded it for has done 1 firing pin after 5000 shots. So, he'll and back, I'd take the Lanbar...
No comparison, Miroku over beretta 7 days a week. In Aus you can get a grade 3 Mk10 competition grade gun for less than a 686, to match the Miiroku you pay 2-3 times into a 694, and still they aren't finished anywhere near Miroku quality, mass produced by a company who cares more about IT and marketing than actually making guns
Im a first time buyer and torn between a beretta and a miroku second hand.... im looking to spend 300-500.. as far as i can gather i should go for the miroku at that price point?? any opinions?
Hi, im relatively new to shooting clays, ive applied for my shotgun certificate but still waiting for it. Ive got my heart set on a miroku mk38 trap 32" but do i buy say an ATA for £800 just to get me started and upgrade later or do I buy a miroku straight off the bat?

I have owned and shot a lot of Miroku and Browning guns, much prefer them to Berettas. One thing I dislike with Berettas is when you open them, you have to hold the barrels down, as the gape to load the lower barrel is compromised. The banter between these guys is too fun. Good show!!
It's always nice to see two good buddies teasing and torturing each other.
Should make a mini series of restoring the miroku👌👌
Always amazed at how well Jonny shoots guns that couldn’t possibly fit him…..
so glad to see the Miroku out again! it is the gun that turned me on to shooting a big heavy Browning CXT as my main gun for everything.

"The stock is sized for malnourished Yorkshiremen". RIP Ant 🤣
Nice video! I have FN browning B25 29" barrel and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world

B25 BEST GUN......my brother also has it, he cuts the game to pieces, I have never seen such power before in any gun

I'm here in US and love to see the double guns, keep the showing of good Guns.
Miroku ftw ❤️ was my first gun and I will buy another some day
At the end of the day they are both great shotguns. I would buy either one. Great video!😊
Both guns are equally good, great for new shooters and also reliable
