Silly, please understand you can only get the mouse for 30 if you buy wholesale meaning you buy like 10 or more items. So you spend R300 on 10 wireless mouses that works out to R30 each. If your dumb self went to China mall and bought 1 mouse it's retail price is R79. The concept of wholesale Vs retail is simple. I know you thought you were smart but today you found out you don't understand something a 10 year old would know. Good luck in life bruh. You gonna need it.
I no longer buy on takealot I saw their prices are unfair. I now buy from the supplier

I agree with you. I started out with investing on my own, but I lost a lot of money. I was able to pull out about $200k after the 2020 crash I invested the money using an analyst, and in seven months, I raked in almost $673,000

1. The only way would be through a courier affiliated with Takealot (they have discounted fees)
2. Only distribution centers can be used, theres one in Kempton Park (JHB) and another in Cape Town

Takealot just allowed private sellers to start selling, so all you need is your ID, but for tax purposes I would suggest registering a business (I made a video on the easiest way to do this on my channel).

-How you handle returns or warranty issues.

1 - > R460 pm + 15% - 30% of selling price (may be high but their organic traffic is worth it)
3 -> Basically just fuel since I dropped everything by myself, so lets estimate R100 per drop-off
4 -> Returns honestly suck so if I ever do get them (which is rare since i sell quality products) I just let Takealot dispose even though they allow you to fetch it.
He said he paid R30 for each mouse and sold it for R150 each and made R70 on each mouse

Congratulations. Well done! How do you handle warranty and returns? Do you repair the items or just replace them with a new unit?

Thank You! Honestly, returns are quite annoying. Takealot doesn't give the option to replace the customers product, instead they refund immediately.
So when I get a return (which is quite rare because I make sure my products have decent quality), i just let takealot dispose it because its not worth the time and money to get the one product back
@@The_SuccessEquation So you would have to have some sort of reserved funds available in your Takealot account that they could deduct from when a customer does a return? So technically a client could return an item within a 6 month period for whatever reason and be awarded the full purchase price since you aren't allowed to do a replacement? Chinese products are generally mass produced and of inferior quality. I don't think they would last for 3 months let alone 6! This would mean a seller would be stuck in a perpetual loop of refunding clients and this does not make business sense. I take it that repairs are out of the question since replacement parts and labour can get quite pricey. I guess the only solution would be some sort of hedging that the seller could do, probably buy some good quality products and sell them alongside the cheaper ones but then again a newbie would need money and some solid selling experience to be able to do that.

Let's not make a mistake, Takealot surely "Sellalot", but the cost of warehousing and shipping etc. is an extra that is passed onto the consumer - Takealot is NOT cheap and the seller is paying extra for the benefit of a National market!
From what you said above it would seem that the seller is in for another surprize when there are breakages & refunds involved?
I work for online company which we also send items into take alot so my boss actually doing what you do but with thousands and tjousands of products i want to know where do you even take your first step if you want to sell on take alot ? 🤔

All the products in that video sold purely through organic traffic so no ads
But recently I've been using the ads to boost sales

Currently working on a video that covers every single step of the process. There are no "masterclasses" needed in order to get approved, but once your application to be a seller is accepted they want you to do an "Onboarding" which is just a bunch of videos that teach you about their policies and how the whole thing works

Great video! Is it feasible to begin selling on takealot as a sole proprietorship, so as not to have to register a business while still testing the waters? I see that they allow you to apply to sell without needing a registered business, but wanted to know if there may be other downsides in your opinion?
In my experience, the biggest downside with not registering a business is tax. Income tax (from your personal account) is way much more compared to company tax (from your business account). If you make under + - 90k a year you might not pay taxes as a small business. But even above 90k the rate is way lower than income tax rate.

As a previous seller, there "hidden fees" not mentioned here like your shipping to takealot (if you don't do it), storage fees, takealot commissions which vary per category, maybe there even more now. Selling on this platform is a volume game. Returns were a mess back then, not to mention sometimes you get a returned product not in original condition and you have to sell an open box with items missing or just write it off. The policies benefit the buyer not the seller.
Takealot does have a darkside to it but there are workarounds to everything.

Hey if possible can you share how you took your stock to takealot,warehouse,and how much did it cost you.
Bruh make a deal with the China Mall guy to supply and barcode everything and drop it off at the warehouse and you just sell on Takealot and take your cut and give him the rest

Honestly I've tried opening dropshipping stores which have wrecked my brains, however, this makes me a lot more hopeful when it comes to this money making method.

Quick question: what about the packaging and aspect of selling your products on takealot? Do you package the products yourself and how do you market your products?
Yes packaging is your own resposibility, most products if you're buying from a supplier, will come in it's own box which is suitable to send to Takealot, you will have to barcode the product with Takealot's own barcode. (If you are selling your own product then yes you should make sure you package the products individually in boxes)
Marketing is also your responsibility by either trying to setup external ads or using Takealot's ad program by creating ad campaigns and allocating ad spend.
