For my own preference, I would use tomato sauce along with Rotel because there are enough stewed tomatoes in the Rotel...Other than that you did a great job...I will be making that for the Fall weather.

I love this! I don't rinse the beans or corn, because it seems to need that for a heartier soup. Also, instead of rotel and chilis, I used 3 oz of tomatoe paste with the 2 cans of tomatoes. Also, I chop onion up into the meat while cooking. Thank you for the recipe! I'll be letting it simmer throughout the day for supper tonight. I've eaten it before, just needed your video to refresh my memory. One more thing, I used 1 pack of taco mix powder, but then I added 1/2 package of chili powder, McCormick, which gave it a beefier taste. Absolutely!!! I stopped eating rice , in all of my bean and peas. I don't like pasta either ( chili mac). I make my own cornbread and biscuits...( thanks Momma). I wanna make this with a tomato based roux ( tomato gravy) ?? Doesn't hurt to try , right ??

My older sister passed me this recipe. She used ground turkey. I’ve made it at least almost a dozen times. It’s a keeper. I use little soy curls instead of meat. With or without meat it’s so super good!!! 😋

Delicious! I leave out the can of chili's as the Rotel is pretty spicy. I add quite a bit of Beef or Chicken Stock instead of water to make it more "soupy". LOVE THIS!!! YUMMM

I dumped the whole cans of beans with the juice and then use another can filled with water for each can of beans that's added. The only can that I drain is the corn before I put that in. Another great thing to add is hominy. You drain that and rinse that before putting it in.
Best choice tomatoes & green chillies is the same as Rotel and cost 79¢. If you want it thinner, put some beef broth about a cup, or 2 with maybe more chilli powder, an old senior citizen grandma, 50 years cooking I quit measuring a long time ago, and invented recipes Because I got tired of making the same things for years

But, my Taco soup tasted more like chili, which isn't a bad thing, but it didn't have the "taco" taste. I even ended up adding some more Taco seasoning. I wonder if it's supposed to be like that?

Hominy instead of corn, add fresh onion and garlic, cilantro. Really brown the beef, not gray. A jar of homegrown black eyed peas, with the green husks, juice and all, elevates this recipe
I dice up an onion and cook with my ground beef, and I don't drain the corn. I also add in a can of crushed tomatoes in place of some of the water. Adding some dry beef bouillon powder will give it a beefier flavor...careful though, it is also salty.
I made it exactly as the recipe and I gave two bowls to our neighbor and she told me that it was delicious. But I did make it + 3 of the recipe and my Husband and I ate it still he just can't get tired of it
Going to give his a try, I`mmmm sure it`s great.. Tip , when frying the hamburger use a potatoe masher and it will be easier to break up the ground meat.

I was just looking taco soup up just to make sure I am not forgetting anything I just use diced tomato's and I use Beef broth and I add the water too Of course Oh Yeah I also put cilantro in it and olives because I don't like spicy stuff and I add a little bit extra of that spice called cumin

Be careful how you tweak this recipe. I've been sorry about my tweaks and had to return to the original recipe... even adding back the ranch dressing.

It does make up into a lot of food, more than what you'd think just looking at the ingredients.
