Great review! I believe I own a version that's nearly (and perhaps completely) identical in optical design, the S-M-C Takumar 55mm f/1.8. Aside from the lack of multi-coating in your Super Tak, I've heard the f/2 max aperture resulted from a restrictive plate installed by Pentax to sell a downmarket version of their existing 55mm f/1.8 without having to reengineer a more budget lens. In any event, my Takumar was the first adapted lens purchased for my Fuji cameras and is still one of my favorites along with the Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 (Sonnar version). The image rendering and bokeh of these old Taks is just outstanding and I can't imagine ever parting with mine.
Great Fun!!!!! I always enjoy Your videos (Food For Thought)!!!!! Thanks!!!!!! I have not sold My older lenses (mostly Nikkor) many older than 60yrs...... Also 50's Leica n Russian n Japanese lenses!!!!!! The adapters are so inexpensive it makes it even more Fun!!!!! :) :) :)
@@johnyoung1606 It’s true the cost of the adapters and the bargains you can find on vintage manual focus lenses make it a lot of fun. Back in film days if you shot Nikon and wanted to try a Canon lens you had to buy a Canon body. Thanks for watching.
Jules, that lens has surprising sharpness. Pretty impressive. Enjoyed the video, have a good week.
@@leod1671 It is very sharp and inexpensive. Thanks Leo.

@@randyk1919 You are correct that the 55 2.0 and 55 1.8 are the same except for max aperture. Thanks for watching.
