Hon. Dr. Saia Piukala confirmed as WHO Regional Director for Western Pacific .

People’s Representative for Vava’u Constituency 14 and former Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Saia Ma’u Piukala has just been confirmed by the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation as next WHO Regional Director for Western Pacific in Geneva, Switzerland. Hon. Dr. Piukala was elected by the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific. Hon. Dr. Saia Piukala is the first Pacific Islander appointed to the role.
