The Everett Railroad Hauls Revenue Freight with Steam Locomotive 11 | Dec. 17, 2021

- With Everett Railroad's steam shops being located in Claysburg, a ferry move is required to Hollidaysburg before the passenger train can depart. This time was a bit different, however. #11 picked up a few rail cars ready to leave from their industries on the journey back, saving the work from their normal EMD power. We caught #11 after it was ready to head to Hollidaysburg and followed it up before it dropped the cut on the siding for Norfolk Southern to pick up Monday.

When a gallon of diesel is 5.00
And a ton of coal is 100.00 bucks
Steam makes a comeback
Ironically enough, that steam locomotive was converted to oil burning. 😑
That’s a pretty iconic sounding whistle there…
That would be her 5 chime!
That little baby pulled pretty well! Of course, unlike the old days, the cars had roller bearings.
God I love the 5 chime
This was really interesting. Never in my life have I seen a steam locomotive pulling revenue freight.
It was a first for us too!
There is something so satisfying about watching an old steam locomotive doing the job it was made for.
I love excursion services and all but theres something great about this old loco still running revenue freight
NICE TO SEE OLD STEAM PULL FREIGHT SEEMED LIKE IT HAD NO PROBLEM GREAT VIDEO
Wow, now there is something you won't see everyday!
Yup! Everett Railroad always does stuff uniquely
That's pretty funny at the end when number 11 is pulling away that truck is pulling gears trying to sound bad ass..... nope not even close!!! and I'm a heavy haul truck driver out here in oregon LOL
Gotta love a Mogul.
Its like a full size train set and I love it xD
The 5 chime steam locomotive whistle sounds a lot like the K5H train horn.
Great footage! How often does this steam engine haul revenue freight? Is this a regular occurrence or was it just this one time?
They sometimes will during the ferry move from Claysburg to Hollidaysburg for excursions, makes more sense then running the diesel down back later
@@philadelphiasouthernproduc5759 hope they run 11 smokebox first sometime. now THAT would look cool.
Yeah, it's fun still seeing tiny 11 pulling high cube boxcars. Not sure if they'll have it come out smokebox first since they wye it in Hollidaysburg (if needed) before returning to Claysburg
