    Thanks for the review. I was gifted one of these, fully assembled and I wanted to know how to adjust the tilt. Just as you said, pulling the lever out allows the chair to tilt back and pushing it back in locks the chair in the upright position. That's the answer I was looking for.

    After 2-3 years of use the faux leather is almost deteriorated. It got scratches, damage and dirty quick so I decided to clean it with a laundry detergent (what I had on my hands at the time). Don't know if because of that or something else but after a while leather got sticky and melted on armrests and the sitting part. But. This is hands down the most comfortable chair I have ever owned. I fidget around a lot and enjoy sitting with my legs up in weird positions. Its wide enough for my large a$$. Thinking about upcycling it with DIY armrests and other parts. Will see how it works out.

    Bought from IKEA...no problem in assembling...After a year of normal home use, the pads 'plastic' covering began to fall out...the armrest broke , on both sides!...Called IKEA for replacement handles, and they do not sell them...Looks like I have to throw them away..Terrible waste of money and terrible for the environment...Stay clear of these !!

      Interesting! Sorry to hear about your experience, but thanks for sharing your first hand knowledge.
      I'm about 6 months in on this one and so far its holding up. I'm surprised the armrests broke, given the design of the chair, all that you have left at that point is a stool.....
      Did they both break at the same time?

    • @jackseyghal6104
      @jackseyghal6104 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CluelessDad Yes ..just a stool...Yes...they broke ( sheared off ) almost a week or so apart ....in two places...But...I am going to see if I can glue them together...and tape over the broken areas...Hate to see dumping an almost complete armchair...and waste good money...and to cough up for another one...IKEA UK dont sell the Renberget...otherwise wud've given it a try

    Getting this, hopefully it's still comfy for a 6ft 8 tall guy

    • @CluelessDad

      i guess it depends on how wide your hips are and how much space you have to stretch your legs under your desk. I'm guessing with your height your shoulders will pass the top of the seat back (which means not much head support). I'm 5'8" so you can extrapolate... your shoulders should be like 6" higher than mine.

    ive had this chair for years and the seat is completely worn out, the pleather and the foam are GONE, do you know if its possible to just buy the seat part on its own? Ive been looking online and cant find anything besides replacement screws

    cool review. would you get this pvc/faux leather material or the mesh (Markus)? after tens of years of using mesh type, I would like to try out a more comfy looking chair like the millberget. do you live near the border?

    • @CluelessDad
      @CluelessDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think based on the cracking on the remberget faux leather, the mesh would be better in the long run. (not sure about the markus specifically though).
      Yes, near the border.

    If you push the leaver to put the chair angled back and then can you lock the leaver to lock the chair angles back?

    • @CluelessDad
      @CluelessDad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, it only locks in the upright (not angled) position unfortunately (i guess its safer this way...)

      It is a bit more comfy, but not sure its worth the extra cost over Renberget. If you're buying it at US prices (70 vs 50), probably worth it...

    Does this chair have warranty? I dont see any information aboutit

    • @CluelessDad
      @CluelessDad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm guessing it depends on the country you purchase in, but here in HK, IKEA has a 'product guarantee' for SOME products. The length depends on the type of product (up to 25 years!). www.ikea.com.hk/en/customerservice/about-product/guarantees-and-warranties
      I don't see Renberget listed there (this is a home chair, not a 'work chair'), but apparently its still covered by the "365-day return and exchange guarantee" - www.ikea.com.hk/en/customerservice/faq#online_aftersales-2

    What is your height? Do you think the armrests constraint your legs or do you feel any pain on your kegs? I am 1.90 and I am sceptical if the armrests are hurting my legs because I had this issue with the Ikea markus

    • @CluelessDad
      @CluelessDad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      by hurting, do you mean like if your hip or thigh width is too much for the seat, so they hit the arm rests?
      according to the dimensions listed on the ikea website, this one is 62cm wide, whereas the Markus looks like its 63cm. so if your legs are hitting those arm rests, it may be worse here.
      I don't have any problems though, I'm 175, I have a good ~3cm of space on each side.

      just fine. no wear problems or anything. still very comfy.
      That said, i bought another ikea chair recently (for a different house), and I chose the Renberget.
      its almost as good but significantly cheaper.
