I will also give you my thoughts and opinions on the game, and would love to hear yours.

Very much liked how you omitted the descriptions during the video. 100% agree it takes away from the experience just a little bit when such things are revealed. A nice Concientious touch.

Awesome video. I backed the last kickstarter for the expansion and base game. The more I watch about this game the more I want to play.
it has a hard learning curve but once you have it down it is a great game. I would like to do some more coverage of this game at some point.Thanks for the comment and for watching.

Thank you for making this video. Your introduction to the game and your style of teaching, is the best on TH-cam for learning complicated games like TMB.
There is a Kickstarter game nearing delivery called Merchants Cove. It also has the players playing completely different roles. I am hoping that you will be doing a video on that. It’s one of those big complicated games (like Detective, City of Angels, a big Kickstarter game that is just collecting dust on my shelf).

Wow, this tutorial was great! I’m brand new to TMB and this was very helpful, thanks! I reading about the Gearlocs, I’m thinking that Ghillie and Nugget sound more like the kinds of characters my wife and I like to use so we did pick them up along with the base game. Would they be tough to use as rookies? And would that pair be ok to use together? I wasn’t sure if we would need a character that was more of a “tank” in order to survive…

When the battle is over, do the die placed in the locked area return to the Gearloc pad? (Like with Boomer, do die 1 thru 3 return to the 1 thru 3 spots on the pad?

Just got this game, and I don't know if the rules changed between editions or not, but the way you describe defense increases working is not what I have in my rules. You make defense increases much more difficult.
You are correct I missed that and assumed it worked the same as attack increases. Thanks for watching and catching that I will add a note in the description as well.
49:47 Small correction, you cannot move after attacking (even if you have leftover Dex)

The singular of “dice” is “die,” not “dice.” I only mention thus because listening to you call a single due “a dice” make me want to pierce my eardrums. :-). Other than that and the rule error, great video!

Hello. When rerolling a failed defense training you only reroll the bones, not the whole dicepool.
You are correct I messed this up and assumed it worked the same a attack increases. Thanks for pointing this out and I will be adding a note in the description on this point.
Learn to Play Games guess fixing this error wasn’t that important? There’s links in your description to sell stuff, but no notice in the description about rules you messed up?

Ouch, after about 6 games, I just noticed that we can keep locked dice in slots after a successful Battle. I was rerolling after each Encounter. Ah well, at least I survived a couple of times :)

This game was over-engineered, un-necessarily "busy" and a chore to play.
Try to avoid saying “you guys,” it will improve the production

I've got a couple of channels and I can't help but say the most ridiculous things including criminal use of the word "literally". Unless you've made videos, you don't understand how hard it is, the mouth goes on autopilot. Keep up the good videos!
@@TabletopUpgrades I completely agree, it is so hard trying to remember all the rules you are covering, while trying not to say some words, while not pausing or saying ah, while adding volume to your voice and not being monotone. I have needed to take up to 20 takes to get it right and some videos have over 30 clips that make them up.

Skim forward then.....it’s not a hard concept.
Regarding format of the video, for me a ‘how to play’ should have minimum opinion, as if the video is a reference to learn how to play knowing your view isn’t pertinent. By all means have the review at the end or as a separate video.

That was my original intention but I have many companies request or require it in order to give me the games to work with so I met them in the middle with my opinions. I don't like reviews and feel that it can push people away from games they may like if they gave them a chance. Thanks for your feedback and for watching.
