Tbh most of these really rare tanks are only strong because of their rarity. If this was a more common vehicle people would learn how to deal with them
If you know where to shoot the 279... its easy to deal with, every US tank from 8.0 to 10.0 can go through the front of the 279 with ease

@@anotherherosfall depends, if your in the M60 at 8.0, use the HEAT round and shoot the exact center of the tank, any round that pens over 140mm at 60 degrees will go through.
When shooting at the side, try to go for the turret and not the hull, the hull is a little trolly

@anotherherosfall I don't see the actual answer here. Turret ring. Frontally you can shot trap right under the barrel into the drivers hatch. From a slight angle you can hit the main weakspot, the lower turret cheeks, kinda like a kv1. The transition from the turret to barrel is semi flat compared to rest. From the sides, turret ring. If you preview the tank in hanger you'll see the mounting for the turret ring leaves a section that's flat up and down. Tldr: aim along the turret ring line, shoot the barrel if you need time.

29:51 I think they recently nerfed its bomb resistance, it used to be immune to bombs smaller than 2000lbs but now even a 250lb can kill you if it is close enough
It was immune to 2000lb bombs 80% of the times earlier. Even with direct hits and even if it was over the bomb.
I was so sad when they did that I once got bombed 8 times in one match and it did nothing lol
i think they also nerfed the maus’ bomb resistance too. i get killed by like 200lb bombs so often now

I must say i dont get the 279 is op i am not lieing when i say i never hade a problem killing ore pening 279 even more so people that play it think they are god so they even 90% of the time make it easy to kill

The last few weeks it seems like all of my favorite WT youtubers are collaborating and I couldn't be happier. Jon and Odd have always been my most favorite so this is incredible. I learned to play better just by watching how those two play and adopting strategy from them. Got my first no death (9 kills) game because of Jon.
Seems they traded the 279s bomb resistance with the is-4. I had a game in my Saab and dropped 3 1000lbs right on them didn’t kill them only tracked. Then his teammate came to help him and I dropped my last 2 500lbs bombs right on them both. His teammate died he survived, bombs being closer to the is-4. May be a skill issue but the dude acknowledged he should have died.

The only weak point is the fuel tank at the bottom, you can penetrate it even with a tier 1 tank but it is still a strong tank

In most cases u cant blame spaa as u can lock a missle on a heli till they are point blank

Used to be 8.7, and was 8.3. As a owner of thia tank, it is much more balnanced now than it was then. Even in a downtier, heat fs will cut through you like butter. Any shot to turrer will destroy the breach as well because of how large it is.
