    good job. great minds think alike. i've been making my boxes out of these for years. i drill holes in the sides for the python lock. i was just doing camo paintjobs on them originally, but what really makes them better, is cover the box with construction adhesive, like liquid nails, etc. it adds wicked texture and really adds dimension, making a world of difference to the paintjob.
    mine are also done for bear protection, as they seem to just love the cams. those antenna will be a weakness though. bear toothpicks.

    Good idea. My only concern is if yoy already have weak wifi signal I wonder if the metal box will make it worse? Also if you have to pay $15/ box and it take well over a hour it seems it would be more cost efficient to just pay the $30 for the tactacam box

      When I made mine the boxes were $40 and I like to DIY so the hour wasn't hurting my time any. I haven't noticed any difference in the signal at all.

    Great idea!! Thanks buddy! I’m going to make three for mine not for bears , because of thieves. Just wondering if styrofoam would be better than plain foam because it won’t absorb and hold any moisture. In regards to long term effects on the electronics of the camera not getting airflow around it. Still, I love it

      I haven't had any issues as of yet but I agree Styrofoam may be a better option.

    Ever though about just making a cardboard template? Would be a little easier.

    • @HISBounty
      @HISBounty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      clenzyson you could do that for sure. Then just trace the templet, great idea.

      that's what i do. but with just simple paper. lay it on the cam, you almost see right through it, for where to draw, then cut out.
