I was 15 and it used to be played on one of the chart shows on TV here. I loved the song and the video, and it's still one of my favourite all-time songs too 😊
Only 80 000+ views?! This wonderful song deserves much more. I have fallen in love with it. I listen to this song all the time when i'm feeling down, and it always comforts me, in a way.
This was on our playlist in 89 a lot. On the video music channel and in car. My son sent me a whatsapp tonight saying he had just found it and it was my granddaughter's new song. She is turning 3. My son was born in 89. I love music.
32 years on and this song still sounds amazing. I kept missing them when the were playing here in the UK pre-pandemic, but I hope to see them in the future
Hah, I had a real relationship to this song about 12 years back. Listened to it over and over. Really fun to hear it again. It's really a catchy tune. Love that playful guitar riff.
went to his concert when I was 16 in Mt.Vernon wa he was so cool, there was a nasty storm and only 50 people showed he still performed as though we were packed!
gallweynm, He's a beautiful man. I became friends with him in an acting class in Portland Oregon, where I saw in him immense talent for anything he approached. He has a big heart as well.
Thanks for sharing. I miss Dan Reed Network.....Awesome music. This song brought back the memories...wow, ~ 23 years back. Someone please download HD of the official video of this song.
They got slagged really badly by the press which is why they didn't rack up the sales. This song is nice, but it's too poppy to rock out in the same vein as GNR, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue.
brywool They were a multi cultural band before a global acceptance of artists were ever in the spotlight. That is the reason why they did not make it. Basically put, rockers wanted white guys to look up to back then.....
Dan Reed .... all the best, 30 years still the best, I was in 3rd grade junior high, this music video always played on tv at that time, say hello from Jakarta, Indonesia
to my friend, Dan Reed : first this: they, you know whol stole two tof your themes. 1. gun face, i forgt to make her mine. ( I tough her everything.. mick the thief ) 2. the trumpet solo on Dan Reed Network album is used later for, the idea, in out of control. I have got the love from Barry, thank you man, there is love in the heart of the city. why i write : i had serious black time. death and all in my mind. you saved me. what an album is that, Dan Reed Network. your pain is not love, your pain is misunderstanding of your genius. well the stones did not overlook you. it is only now, after 24 years, that I understand something of music. it kept me alive, you did. saved at least one.
I love this song. My ex partner had these lyrics printed & framed for me. Memories of happy times. So sad it didn't work out. But we have a lovely daughter together who is a reminder of how good we were. I think I will always be in love with him. True. xxxx
I have been through so much lately my heart is broken but listening to this is definately some kind of comfort I have liked dan reed for such a long time god bless you for giving me some kind of hope when I need it.
Say Hello to the Rainbow child She don't talk much she just sits there and smiles She's gotta heavy heart that beats to the rythm of a different song Say hello to the Rainbow Child She don't say much it's just her personal style She's gotta magic mind that that reaches to the border of the riverside She don't know what she has in her hands If someone tried to tell her she won't understand She's like the wind & the rain & the flowers & the pain, She is everything. Open your arms to the Rainbow Child, If you needed her love she would travel the miles She's gotta heavy heart that beats to the rythm of a different song.
This song just came to my mind for some reason and I decided to look it up on the Tube. I was saddened to see your comment... I hope things get better for you... I really do.
All these guys were incredible musicians. WHat happened to them? I love Blake Sakamoto's keyboards and Brion James guitars. Of course Dan Reed's songs.
Jovi DID make them, but for a one song band this was a HELL of a song.....scary to think how old the song is...'cause it makes me realise how long I've been a Jovi fan!
they opened for the rolling stones (urban jungle tour). they started off loud and brash and were crap. then they played this song slowed it right down, and they got the crowd on their side. the rest of their slot was great. slow the way to go
Check out his website, I think I saw all the tour dates there. I know he's performing in Leicester on May 12. Just a small club, or a pub, for only £7! That's where Im probably going to be. Dan Reed rocks! peace :)
This was a band that wa way before their time. Thsy incorporated funk and metal. They made 4 albums I think. Their 2nd album "Slam" was their best album. What happened to them. They were produced by veteran producer Nile Rodgers.

The most underrated band EVER . . . DRN should have been huge!!
They are huge in the hearts of their fans. And that's what matters.

WHY was DRN not HUGE. This song is a masterpiece. Always was. Love that band.
They got slagged really badly by the press which is why they didn't rack up the sales. This song is nice, but it's too poppy to rock out in the same vein as GNR, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue.
A good song is a good song is a good song. Pop or not. They shoulda been huge.

This is perfection in the form of music.
