Except for the Strange Suspense and Topix, none of those are golden age books. Couple dozen are silver age, which includes even some of my faves, like The Flash. Was the shoe box worth 50 bucks? Yep, but just barely, since most of them are in such bad shape. So I'd have to declare this deal a win-win, of sorts.
Thank you so much for your wisdom @MrEdWeirdoShow. My knowledge of golden age and silver age are limited. I'm the "buy what you like kind of guy" and I usually end up overpaying 🙄. Thanks again!
Nice finds. I think you found some great books. I would say you are right in the ball park with $50. I am glad you rescued those older comics, even if they were low grade. Now the magic starts. Like books attract other like books. More 15, 12 and 10 cent books are going to find their way to you.
That's a pretty awesome find! I didn't expect for their to be a ton of early silver age and even a little golden age books in that lot! You 100% got your moneys worth!
You got some great books there I think, a cool bargain for sure. That Journey Into Mystery isn't pre-code, you can see the comics code authority stamp in the top right corner, unless my eyes are deceiving me. Still a nice old book to pick up for a great price. That Aquaman 3 alone probably was worth $50 but I'm not sure. Either way I think you made out very well there
@thegreyman Thanks man, you're right the Journey into mystery is not pre-code. Thank you for the correction. Sometimes I'm so excited about the books that I sometimes get tongue tied 😁 And the Aquaman 3 I just saw at a shop for $75 about the same condition as mine 👍
@@ComicSnags that is great, that Flash is a good one too, $20 or more I think. Thanks for sharing and no apology needed about getting excited. I love folks who are excited by their comics, great stuff
The digitek and black axe books are part of marvel uks range of books in the 90s there were other titles like dark angel and warheads all in there own shared universe they had about ten interconnected books with different characters back in the day
Aquaman 3, The where Monster Dwell drawn by Kirby pre Marvel, the old DC titles, the early J.I.M with Thor vs, G.G., He got his azz handed to him again about 2 years later in Captain American and the Falcon 148-( I have a mint copy, valued at 85.00) Sam's costume was Green/brown, no wings and a real fighting Hawk named Redwing, along with the Original Nick Fury The Charles Schultz, Flash and some other goodies...Fair deal to me.

Wow. You made out with that box. The older books are best. A lot of good reading there. How do you forget your glasses if you need them to read? I put mine on first thing. 😂
You got a good deal. Just as a guess, there may be a couple of hundred bucks worth of books there. One thing. If you look in the upper right hand corner of some of these books, you will see the comics code authority seal of approval. Any thing with the CCA seal is NOT golden age. You seem to know quite a lot about comics.
Yeah, sorry about that sometimes I get so excited about my finds that I get a little tongue tied and confused. Oh well, the more I do this the better I will get. Thanks for your support 😀
This is the problem with TH-cam. Anybody can make videos and post them, regardless of their knowledge or experience in the field they are in. You're looking for a 2000AD with the first appearance of Judge Dredd? Great, so is the entire collecting and flipping community. Nice to see you grab a box of junk books for 50 bucks- the amount of bandwidth wasted on making and uploading this video was hardly worth it. Let the pros handle this, my dude.
Lol. Thank you for the comment! You made my day 😄 I never stated I was a pro. I'm just a guy who loves comics and I'm just showing ppl what I find. I love the art, the writing and the nostalgia that comes with collecting. Take care. And remember one man's junk is another man's treasure!

Why would you say the journey into mystery comic was pre-comic code if the comic code is right there? Upper right hand corner.. big white stamp..
My bad. I made a mistake 😀 Thank you for pointing that out. I will try to do better in the future.
