Good video. I talked to the Horl people at a knife fair in Albacete in Spain last year. Though I use whetstones for kitchen knives and lately the KME for folding knives, I did like their system. Of course, the angle will vary a bit on blades with a strong curve, but I felt confident enough to recommend it to a friend, he bought it and seems happy with it.
The Horl 2 is the one to get.

I've seen both, but have seen more tumbler. It's not bad and I've had zero issues with the magnets on the Tumbler. Just as strong as the Horl. I got the Tumbler and bro got the Horl. It's a moot point. As far as the Tumbler knife.. mine did not come with one. That said, both sharpeners will have issues with knives like that. Just place the handle on a cutting board to raise the blade up higher. I do like the Horl having options to change the stone on the reverse end. That is nice. 👍🏻

Thanks! Will be getting the horl... you wouldn't have an international shipping link would you?. I live in Australia

Worksharp precision adjust can be used by anyone with about 1 minute of instruction. DBK proved that. They had the professional version, but still it's the same deal. I still, ALWAYS, recommend the precision adjust.

Bought the Tumbler. I like it. I’m just curious how long it will last.

Not very long, the work sharp version is really good if you ever wanna replace and the world is to expensive

Can I use these products to sharpen my combat knives?

I could be wrong, but the HORL 2, which you linked, does not come with all the interchangable discs, those are.aold separately. The HORL PRO 2 may have some extra discs, but I'm unsure on that as I don't see that listed, but @$429 dollars vs $189 dollars, what else could that be!!

any feedback if how safe the method is? the blade is facing the person

Why wouldn’t you be able to sharpen a folding knife ? Blade too low on the magnet like you showed with the smaller kitchen knife?
What if it’s a broader blade like a Civivi Praxis? Or a fixed blade like an ESEE 4 or 6?

Isnt it a problem with both of these if ypur factory edge isnt 15 or 20 degrees, you kind of need to reprofile your edge?

Tumbler is horrible. I am on my second one and it froze as well... wont turn.... waist of money.

Cool idea however, I don’t see this replacing anything sharpening systems I own yet

Well damn. I wish I had seen this before I got the Tumbler. Just wanted something simple for my gf and I to use for our cheap kitchen knives.
One of the rare times I fall for the stupid ads. Lesson learned.

Been hitting the gym mate 👍
Tormek does the same thing, sends you a scandi ground mora which is the least suitable knife for the system.

Ok so are the planetary gears for the like 3 to 1 ratio and better build worth the extra 200? Idk I just have lots of knives and little time..... I can sharpen knives but its time and mess I already dont have time or a space for. I ordered one today and im hoping it can just speed things up because everything else other than stones is absolute garbage.

Great info, thanks dude! Also, I have 1000/500 sharpening stones for my kitchen knives... can I use them for my pocket knife?

I use the same 180/500/1000/3000/6000 stones for my folders, fixed blades and stainless + carbon steel kitchen knives. No problems.

I would consider the Horl if I needed to sharpen kitchen knives all that much. I think I'm saving up to decide on that WS PA Pro or save more for the Kadet Pro.

The worksharp professional or whatever it's called looks great! I think it's $300 though. I believe pre-orders start next month.

So what’s the best way to sharpen your knife if the knife is too tall for the roller?

    • @NeevesKnives
      @NeevesKnives 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

If it's to tall you just stack a book or cutting board under so you can get more height with the roller, otherwise freehand or fixed angled

Go for the Horl. It's the original and it has a ceramic honing side.
