I was not huge a fan of BxMxC when it dropped a year ago. But after hearing the live version where Su didnt have any autotune on and rapping in Japanese for real that fast. It was phenomenal. Blew my mind. Totally worth the wait. This song hits HARD live.

Barone played the drums on it during their EU tour. However on the recording, the backing band usually arent there unless needed on certain songs. Oh and yes it was most likely composed with 9 string in mind since they just released a 9 string guitar. The backing band however plays just on their preferred instruments.

There's a reason they used auto-tune on her voice in the album version. It's a diss track for a certain Japanese hip-hop genre that uses it. Like what Eminem said in The Ringer (Kamikaze album) about mumble rappers: "Do you have any idea how much I hate this choppy flow. Everyone copies though? Probably no". It's like Su and Eminem saying the same thing. Speaking of which, I would like to see Eminem featured in one of Babymetal's song in the future.

Hey DimitarK! Good reaction! "BxMxC" stands for BabyMetal Cypher, and it's a straight up Su-Metal battle rap. It's a huge fan favorite but it's one of the two Japanese exclusive bonus tracks on their latest album "Metal Galaxy". A year after the album released they've decided to make a music video and release this song internationally! A lot of the fans thought it'd make a good MV and it seems they listened. The format of the video looks like it took elements from the "Epic rap battles of history" format with a little Mortal Kombat thrown in for good measure.
Today is like BxMxC day lol. To me, its Babymetal showing their swag, its like a statement from the whole crew saying "if you don't at least respect us, we'll stomp on ya as we keep marching on"
It's a shame it was a Japanese exclusive song, but I'm so glad they at least released a official video. If you want another awesome Japanese exclusive song "Syncopation" is the way to go.
Also, bums me out we will never see YuiMetal perform this song with them :(
They've also released the studio track on international music platforms now. I know that Amazon has it (music unlimited) and think Spotify does too now...

Well over a year old and featuring on the Metal Galaxy album Japanese release, but not in the US or Europe. It was premiered live in Japan in the Summer 2019, but did not feature in the North American tour in Autumn 2019. It was already a fan favourite when it replaced Elevator Girl in the European leg of the tour in early 2020; a tour that was cut short by the Pandemic.
Wasn't the live debut of BxMxC this January at Legend Metal Galaxy ?
Léo forgive me if I was wrong about the live debut. I assumed it was played at the Meal Galaxy launch. I realise that it wasn’t played during the USA leg, but was in Europe, so that makes sense. I have the Japanese Vinyl, and feel it was a shame that it didn’t feature on the European release.
They did finish the original run of European dates, right through to the shows in Russia. When they got European festival dates arranged for the summer, they slotted in some additional club shows - these are the ones that didn't happen.
FourBleats yes, it was the extra dates that were cancelled. BM did play some very small venues (like Cardiff) when they did the tour
It's not a new song. Been out a year but only on japanese edition of the album.

The lesson to be learned from that song is that if you wanna sound like a robot, you *have to* use Autotune. I really fucking love the entire thing.
Before the pandemic shit has started they were testing the rest of the world through smaller venues. With the amount of traction they are having now, the next world tour will be a stadium tour. And I am happy about that. Their first album didn't click for me because their voices weren't fitting the backing instruments. But maaaaan, my mind was blown seeing their performances from the last tour and the way how Suzuka grew to an absolute monster of a vocalist. (While keeping in pace with Moa killing it around.) They are full package girls, band, live performance, and creativity in their music for pretty much anyone who loves a good piece of art. .... After Wagakki Band this is another Japanese band I want to see live.

this release was a surprise for me, i try to buy the jp edicion of the BM albums for the exclusive songs, this songs arent even avaliable on spotify, its nice that they release an oficial version worldwide, i hope that soon will be a live version with best quality, this song its awesome live

AFAIK, the Japanese Kamis haven't played this yet, have they?
But they dont play in the studio recordings at all. The drums dont sound like an acoustic kit more like electric or maybe they use keyboards to make the drum sound. That's why they are better live.

BxMxC woke me up in February 2020 from a two year hiatus. Yes, I've given up on them in 2018. Did it hit me hard? RIGHT ON THE FACE!!!

They use studio musicians for the official audio. The Kami band back them live and are all incredible and play it flawlessly, sometimes improving on it a little. They also have some input on writing the music, but more knowledgeable fans would have the details on that.
This song is such a grower, gets better every time. Fan base was distraught that this was omitted from the non-Japanese (international) version of their latest album.

I have been listening to metal for more than 10 years and Babymetal has become one of my favorite bands of all time, and they work because they are brilliant, the girls are extraordinary performers with great voices and energy, and the Kami band are truly excellent musicians, every member of Babymetal is great at every single thing they do and all of them take the project seriously, so... they're awsome!

Im probably not the first to say this but this is not a new song. The song was released last year but they only released the official musoc video now. That was fast man! I actually really didn't like the studio version when I first heard it, because of the effects on Su's voice with her singing in an unfamiliar style. After hearing the live version I was able to get over that and it became my favourite song on the album.
I don't think it felt right in the stadium performances, though. There's fan cams floating around of them performing this live at smaller venues and by all accounts it hit like a truck in that environment. th-cam.com/video/BjNHAZAAQug/w-d-xo.html
I saw it live in Glasgow in a (comparatively) tiny venue and it was the best song of the show. Absolutely fantastic. The fan-cam versions from the European tour are definately worth a look.
I actually was there in Belgium live (more to the left of where the camera is) and i can testify, i was amazed afterwards the roof was still on the building.
I heard the studio version of this song only once and while i didn't like it too much because of same reason OP said, it didn't sound as good because of the autotune/effects, but when they played this live i was in shock

So the actual live band last year.. til covid were different players then the normal Kami Band. As for what you hear from the studio versions. They keep a real tight lip on whos playing for some reason. I have been able to tell on some songs due to the style of the guitar solos. Who actually played it in the studio. But not many songs I can figure out. Probably guys no ones who they really are. They are just bad ass musicians. They do have guest guitar players on some songs. The kami band doesn't play in the studio versions of the songs. The only one that features both live and in the studio is Leda Cygnus. The other guys only play live.

This is not the Kami Band this is the studio version. The Kami Band only does live shows. This is ?? I know that Dragonforce arranged the guitars for Road of Resistance and played them on the studio version. Do they have the person who arranges the guitars play the studio version for each song? Dunno. I'm not a musician but they'd probably have to play the songs while they were arranging the music to make sure it sounds good?
