  • I was feeling better than ever at Road Atlanta - and was definitely bummed about what happened. I cannot stress enough that I do not fault Field or the judges - but I do think the judging system needs to be changed for calls like this.

See 26:11. right after contact, adam lifts. This unweights the car and rotates. Notice he gets back in it only to prevent the spin. This is liftoff oversteer. It was entirely elective, the incident didn't almost cause a spin. Best of luck to both of em.

Totally agree with you Adam, they had some weird calls this event with collisions. If this continues I feel it will only encourage the chase drivers to hit the lead cars. I get that taps are expected in drifting, but when a car is in transition it is very hard to predict what effects a collision can have on the car. I just cant see how they could have ruled in favor of Matt with the glaring mistakes he had in the chase.
Happy you got some good testing for orlando though, you seem happy and comfortable with the car. An impressive feat for running your own program again. Where do they find these judges? What's their seat time? Have they been in a situation identical to what happened here? Wild BS from Formula D. The live chat completely blew up for the remaining hour of the stream after the judges gave Matt Field the win. The chat never calmed down after that. EVERYONE was rioting, not just your fans. There was so much discontent, and whoever moderates the chat for FD was replying with messages that felt like provocative gaslighting.
The judges made a hasty call on the whole situation, and by the little info we got to hear from Matt it didn't feel like he really understood the result either, but it's oviously understandable that he accepted the win either way. Then you eventually got to say your piece in an interview with Laurette, and Jarod basically brushes the whole incident off as "it is what it is" straight afterwards.
I know you don't want to blame neither judges, casters or management, and I truly respect you for that, but I'm amazed by the level of unprofessionalism shown by all the above during this whole ordeal.
With all that said, really wishing you the best in Drift Masters!

@@ianj8505 drift masters does it really well the hardly have any missed/bad calls and they don't use any of that you don't need thermal imaging when a normal camera shows exactly where Adam was hit and can show the physical damage done by the other car

I really felt that comment about don't hate the players hate the game a subtle dig at FD. Head up Adam as Mad Mike says its a judged sport and it doesn't always go the way it should. thats why when he made his comp in NZ he got sensors and stuff for that. Love the video mike and the crew killed it.

You were killing it! The amount of poor calls was so infuriating. You got screwed, rome got seriously screwed. Its sad that with all the available views, tech, and experience, the judges still cant seem to make correct calls in these situations. Cant wait to see you slay orlando!
