The reason you felt better while pregnant is because when pregnant your body is producing huge amounts of dao enzyme, which breaks down histamine. When your baby was born, that stopped, which is why you felt worse again after. Sibo can cause histamine intolerance.
Thank you for your story. For 15 years, I have spent over $20K out of pocket expenses for Drs to keep testing and retesting and prescribing all the wrong things. I am a GERD, burning stomach, flatulence sufferer. I watch what I eat and cook 90% of my food at home, but when I am traveling everything goes wrong. I was recently hospitalized after eating Brussel sprouts alone. I was in so much abdominal pain, I couldn't walk. At first, they thought it was an intestinal blockage, and so I was cut open yet they found nothing. I am not upset about my unnecessary 6-inch abdominal scar, I'm pissed they didn't find anything. Some days are better than others but when I am so distended like today I go into anxiety overdrive. I have been doing research this week on methogenisis and your story comes so close to mine, including the improved symptoms during pregnancy. I am requesting a SIBO test and will get back to you in a couple of months when someone takes me seriously.
I am SO sorry you have been through all that!!! Wishing you the best of luck as you move forward. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I can totally relate. Keep me updated!! 💙💙
hang in there! and keep in mind that when you have anxiety, your body can not self-heal. my experience taught me that i need to learn how to relax myself, calm my brain down and my body does the healing. of course 5 hr breaks between meals help a lot too
Look into low HCL levels in the stomach. As well as low bile and lack of pancreatic enzyme symptoms. And dont ask your doctor... do the research yourself.
Low stomach acid may be the surprising culprit for SIBO and bloating a lot of people who have Sibo always treat the condition but they never treat the underlying cause which is why the Sibo comes back what you want to do to get rid of this issue is to increase the acidity in your stomach by using betaine hydrochloride with pepsin i would start with 3000-4000 milligrams for a heavy protein dense meal trust me do this for 1-2 months you will see wonders
I just got some! Betaine HCL... GAME CHANGER! I can eat without experiencing belly pain and bloating. My bloating is awful. I can even eat a high FODMAP meal with no problem if I take Betaine HCL.
@@imsooblue I am currently using Betaine HCL with Pepsin. The brand is Dr. Clark Store. I take 1-2 capsules right before meals. There are 620mg of Betaine HCL and 180mg Pepsin in one capsule. I also started taking sodium butyrate, berberine, and oil of oregano before bed on an empty stomach with great success.
@@imsooblue Glad to hear that it's working for you. So, if you don't mind me asking, how do you know if you are experiencing die off? I've heard of this but not sure if I have experienced it or if maybe I'm just not that in tune with my body. It almost seems preferable to experience die off, because it's like confirmation that what you are doing is working. What are the signs of die off?
@@imsooblue ok! Well that explains it! I was doing the berberine, butyrate, oregano megadoses at night for about a month and was experiencing several of the symptoms that you listed but I just assumed they were unrelated. I experienced the intense, insatiable hunger (I attributed to hormones), brain fog (again, thought maybe hormones or stress). Most notable was the stuffy nose! Oh my, it was completely shut for the entire month, making it difficult to eat and sleep (I attributed this to pollen season, as I live in South Louisiana). I stopped taking everything about 2 weeks ago when I found out that part of my GI Effects test had to be redone bc one of the vials was expired. Ironically enough, it was the vial that checks for parasites. Super frustrated because you are not supposed to be actively trying to heal your gut 4 weeks prior to providing the sample for the GI effects test. And I started taking the supplements immediately after sending off the samples not knowing that I would have to redo one of them. So now that I am processing this entire situation and after reading your symptoms, how ironic is it that since I stopped the 3 supplements a couple weeks ago my breathing has returned to normal, I'm sharp as a tack with no mental fog and my appetite has normalized. I really think I need to just pay more attention and put more effort into connecting the dots, especially after starting a new way of eating or new supplements. It all makes sense now. I plan to continue treating with the trio again after I provide this sample, however not looking forward to possibly experiencing those symptoms again. I'm assuming you have not taken the GI effects test if you are still unsure of your diagnosis. Is this something your doctor can order for you? Thank you for taking the time to share your story! The info was SUPER helpful!
Some TH-camrs try so hard to be entertaining by being so animated and feeling like they have to be so cheerful and have all kinds of graphics and stuff and here you have a young Mom showing that all you have to do is be sweet, be yourself and tell your story just the way it happened! That's it! Great job!!
In some cases, it may be the symptoms of low hormones. This started happening to me during perimenopause. Our estrogen and testosterone helps and protects us with so many body functions. Anyway, I am now taking Bio-identical hormones and SIBO has gotten better, not completely gone yet, but much better. Menopause Taylor on youtube gives so much information on our hormones. She is a retired Gyno. You may want to check her out.
I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 15 . I’m 46 now . No doctor has ever helped me . Just anti acid and prescription for ibs or gerd . Always had issues with acid reflex , really extreme And constipation . Stomach issue run in my family but no one has had positive results from doctors. 2 years ago I got to where I became allergic/ intolerant to my foods. Took out gluten, dairy, some meats, carbs etc . Try different things, it helps for a little then back to the same issues. Went to the doctor no help so trying to figured it out myself . Was fine for almost a year and lost 30 pounds . Then it hit me again and gained weight back , I get tired, migraines , nausea, bloating , pain etc . Someone told me the other day maybe it my gallbladder . Everytime I eat I’m a mess even fuzzy thinking , get super cold , tired like my blood pressure lowers Idn just guessing . Last year for 3 months my hair just started falling out . I now have about half the amount I started off with , before it started falling out . This went on for a few months. I am now looking at imo and SIBO to see if maybe this is what’s up ! At least you have gone further then me . My doctors have always resorted to anti acids . I can scream with this over 30 years , many doctors and diet changes . I’ve never eaten bad because of this issue and always fought my weight . Sad that people have to figure out this on their own
Hi Christine I understand, it’s terrible I have put on 20kg. Been to specialists everywhere, had biopsy’s etc.stilllook 9 months pregnant. I am allergic to lactose, all sugar and fructose. I have done EVERY EAting PLAN. Have the symptoms you have.
Thanks for the advice!. I'll keep that in mind as I make more videos. I am new to youtube and just learning. It is terrifying putting yourself out there like this. It's unfortunate that some people need to make rude comments when someone else is expressing themselves, but I'll just use this as a way to make future videos better. Try to be kinder next time, but I appreciate the advice. :)
You're right and I'm sorry. I'm trying to figure out how to deal with SIBO, myself, and I feel like it's making me act mean. I'm not normally like this! I keep crying and I have no energy. None of this has anything to do with you and I'm so sorry I was rude. I hope you find the answers, too. Thanks for calling me out. It was very mature the way you handled my comment.
Thanks for apologizing. I know i have a LONG way to go to improving my videos. I am working on it!!😊😊 I hope to one day be able to help people with my videos. Right now my focus is really improving my quality and getting more confident. But i hope one day i will have better advice videos. This video was mainly to tell my story, so in future videos where that are more focused on advice i van refer people to this one and dont have to tell MY whole story over and over again, if that makes sense. Im sorry that i couldn't help you! I am working on solutions and will share as soon as i find them! ❤❤
There's nothing wrong with your video, honest. I was taking my frustrations out on you and very unfairly. Just because you didn't give me the answer I am looking for (which probably doesn't even exist), doesn't mean I should have downvoted it. Seriously, I've been feeling like a jerk about it all night. I wish you all the best and wholeheartedly apologize, again. ✌️

I have been bouncing around doctors and had problems with my intestines and they think its IBS. I started milk and water kefir to increase pro biotics and it cured my intense stomach pain and brought me back to normal. I also found out that turmeric mixed with 1/4 tea spoon black pepper mixed with fatty foods increases stomach acid and many other important health benefits. However it reacts with IBS symptoms and I have experienced that so I decided to use it sparingly. The milk and water kefir, but especially the water kefir saved me the intense pain and are the best things I can recommend. Water kefir causes me more heartburn so I am going to add baking soda to the mixture to stop that but when it's bad, milk kefir calms my stomach down completely
I dont think it should be your sibo story but your sibo update, because u havent found the root of the problem and hast been cure. I understand because I have it n I'm still fighting it
Your story sounds identical to mine. A few weeks before my wedding last year (which was so stressful it nearly killed me) I started developing stomach issues. My stomach would hurt after I ate and then slowly each month that passed I became more and more sick. It got to the point where I lost 10lbs (which I became underweight) and became angry with food because all it did was hurt me. Eating was so hard because I would feel full after a few bites and be so bloated I could barely breathe. I was nauseous all the time, in pain and I stopped getting hunger signals. At my lowest point I was lucky if I could just force down some chicken broth and a few crackers in a day. It was so awful. I also had the burping/hiccuping even just drinking water. It was a nightmare and I cried constantly because I felt like it would never end and I couldn’t live like that any longer. I had an endoscopy and it showed I had mild acid reflux and gastritis. Anti-acids made it worse and amoxicillin did nothing. Going on an elimination diet and eliminating my food sensitives (like chicken, almonds and gluten) really helped me a lot but I was still suffering with the symptoms. I only did the diet for a couple months and then started eating regular foods again. I was just about to take rifaxin when I discovered that two supplements I just started taking, were helping me so much. I started taking digestive enzymes once or twice a day with my meals and “Terra Origin - Healthy Gut” this was my holy grail. It completely knocked out my SIBO in just a week. I was finally, finally free of the symptoms that plagued me for so long. I still can’t believe how powerful this little powder is and how much it changed my life. It’s honestly a miracle. I highly, highly recommend it and I really hope it could help you too!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your story with me!! Ill have to give that a try sometime. Im currently pregnant but once baby comes and im done breastfeeding I'm going to try some new treatments for sibo!
Aatif Charfare yes! I have not had SIBO come back but I have noticed that over the last year my digestive system gets sensitive very quickly when I’m under stress. I recently moved and for the last two weeks I’ve been under a crazy amount of stress. I started noticing some of my symptoms creeping back (nausea especially in the AM, feeling full quickly, bloating, loss of appetite, indigestion/sour stomach) I immediately started taking the gut repair supplement I recommended in my previous comment (by terra origin) and the next morning my nausea stopped for the first time and all my symptoms have decreased to about 20%. It honestly blows my mind how much this supplement has changed my life. I cannot recommend it enough. I don’t understand fully why I get these symptoms and why the supplement makes such a huge and fast difference for me but I cannot live without it!
Aimee Esther sorry I missed your comment. Please give it a try!!! I just gave an update and once again this supplement has helped me immediately. I really hope it could work for you too!!
Did you fix your problems completely? I’m in a similar situation and I’ve lost 45lbs. Doctors can’t find what’s wrong with me. I might need a feeding tube at this point
I had gas, bloating and constipation also from methane sibo. I took plain dairy free yogurt and the gas and constipation is gone. I’m also taking celery juice and it’s awesome. My stomach is going down.
Hey Aimee. I also have methane dominant SIBO. I take Atrantil every day and it helps me live a normal life (until the science catches up to tell us what the underlying problem is). Glad to hear you're doing better, but if things get worse I'd give Atrantil a try. :)
@@Aimee_Esther It's a natural supplement actually. No prescription necessary. :) It looks super gimmicky (in marketing) because the FDA has not approved it as a SIBO supplement. But, it's honestly changed my life. I actually have a few videos about it that explain how it works. atrantil.com/ It was developed by a gastroenterologist who happens to also be a functional medicine doctor, which is definitely a rare combo.
I don’t have Sibo, however I watch Dr Berg videos I research health and wellness and the amount of people that have benefited from his recommendations is overwhelming. Everything is explained clearly in a few minutes and he gets to the point and you understand what’s going on with you. I watched a video from him on SIBO. I personally couldn’t function for years now I am from taking his advice and recommendations. People with crippling fibromyalgia have taken his simple and effective advice that pin points to the root cause and no longer have pain. After years of trial and error and sifting through so much information. He makes simple sense and I hope that you will benefit too from his advice. Try healthy Keto and Intermittent fasting for a week or two and see if you start shifting in your condition. You have nothing to lose. All the best.
Today my breath test came back showing high methane levels (from the start). Sometimes the bloating is so bad that it impairs my breathing, like I can’t seem to breath in deeply. Which is very uncomfortable. Not sure what the next steps are or should be. Besides the bloating and burping I also experience a lot of fatigue and brainfog. No constipation though, which is usually common with methane sibo.
Try Atrantil, it is a natural supplement that they use to help cows produce less methane. I am an ICU nurse and I have SIBO as well, which was identified on a CT scan. I have not been tested to evaluate which type I have, but I am trying this along with berberine and oregano oil to see if it makes a difference. I have POTS as well, so I understand what it is like dealing with both conditions.
I came across The Root Cause Medical Clinic located in Florida and California because I have symptoms similar to SIBO and a hiatal hernia. I have not done their treatment yet because in my case it will cost more than $5,000. But I want to share this info in case someone wants to consider this clinic. They use a “functional medicine” approach. I hope everyone going through health problems, including myself, feels better in the Name of God. Hug!
Thanks for your video!! You give me hope that you can be pregnant and raise a family with these awful illnesses. I also have methane dominant SIBO and have listened to the top researchers on this who recommend Atrantil, Biogaia (L. Reuteri) and S. Boulardi. If you go to “the healthy gut” channel on you tube, Allison Siebecker lists all the bests natural ways to deal with Methane Dominant SIBO and that’s actually the name of the video! Good luck to you!!
I have methane dominant and found a lot of relief from three weeks on the elemental diet. Then I moved to the Bi-Phasic SIBO diet with antifungals to address underlying SIFO.
Finally someone in this thread mentioned prokinetics-which seem to be being recommended more and more. They work by sweeping the overgrowth to the colon where it (more or less) belongs. Lots of success stories from people who have used ginger and artichoke extracts in a supplement such as Motility Activator or Motility Pro.
One thing I find infuriating. Lots of people with these types of illness go through lots of doctors. I'll bet they still charge the **** out of you, don't they. That isn't right . . .
I have SIBO too and it’s terrible!! I tried many different diets of gluten free, dairy free, and others and still had intense bloating and stomach pain. Eventually I got a blood tests for Celiacs and it came back negative and the hydrogen breath test came back positive for SIBO. I took two different antibiotics after trying a few more diets like Low FODMAPs and others. The first antibiotic was very cheap and made my stomach feel terrible/ symptoms much worse. The second antibiotic was extremely expensive (and the insurance company took months to decide whether or not they would cover it and they eventually decided no) and also did not work. I feel tired all the time and don’t think I am absorbing nutrients well because I am hungry all the time too. Now it is summer break and I am doing a little better because of less intense cross country/track practices and so much less emotional stress from school. However, The SIBO is still there and I am wondering if I have methane SIBo since the antibiotics didn’t work. It’s all so frustrating and hopeless!! Thank u for sharing your SIBO story.
Sorry to hear about your fatigue and hopelessness but you are not alone it this great struggle. I am not a doctor so my advice is just based on my body however, since I had a emergency c section (18 years ago) I've had IBS that quickly turned into chronic SIBO (likely methane dominate). You can throw a lot of money at this thing and not see results but reaching out to support groups is good. Staying hydrated, exercised and taking supplements are good go-to's but you'll still have flares and often for the silliest of reasons like going a first date. Journals, food diaries I've done sporadically which give me some idea what to avoid and what is more successful. Getting proper amounts of sleep is helpful. Reducing caffeine and removing alcohol are good but not a cure all. And a nonstrict FODmaps makes life a bit more managable for me. In you situations your exessess fatigue probably partial may be linked to back to back antibotics so reestabilish those good bacteria in your gut will help that. Wholefood groceries store has a lot of SIBO friendly product that will help you manage this beast. Hugs sister sibo :( Meditation or calming music is helpful for me too
Note: I think the SIBO thing is a lot of "balancing that gut" so generally it seems probiotics after two course of antibiotics is a good thing up to a point. As when I have NOT been on antibiotics and have take probiotics it does make the SIBO worse.
Ah sooo soooo glad i found this video. I have been seeing a nutritionist recently and she started me on a low fodmap diet and within the first week my excessive bloating stopped. I am on week four and have started taking nutritionist prescribed antibiotics to kill Sibo. For 8 yrs i have suffered. The doctors would say its all in the head but fk it never really was, it wasn't until my chiropractor who does accupunture on my bad back recommended me to see a specialist for bad kp on my arms, I consulted her 7 months later and told if my systems and now I finally am seeing light under the tunnel. Ppl would alway ask me how many months pregnant i was bcoz my tummy was so massive. So yeh guys please know there is hope u just need to consult someone who will orders tests which a normal GP wont normally do. 🧡🛐
Aimee. So do you have any acid reflux issues now? I asked you because I am a SIBO/Methane. My issues started having a burning sensation in my stomach. I went to the doctor and they prescribed me anti acid medication. It felt good for a couple of weeks and then my stomach got bloated like yours. I started burping a lot after each meal. I had an endoscopy and they didn’t found gastritis or ulcers. My esophagus was so irritated from all the burping that I had to be on a liquid diet for a month. I stoped the anti acid medication because it was making me feel worse and the GI doctors were not listening to me. I went to see a naturopath afterwards she gave me some natural supplements to heal my esophagus and calm my acid reflux issues. Then she gave me probiotics which is the worst thing you can take when you have SIBO. My stomach then got more bloated and it was very painful. At that point we decided to do the breathing test for SIBO and it came positive. I took Rifaximin and It didn’t do nothing. I was feeling frustrated because my acid issues were still there and my stomach pain was getting worse with the medications they were giving me and the low fodmap diet was not helping me. I can’t eat many of the stuff in the low fodmap diet anyways because of my acid reflux issues. I’ve been dealing with SIBO for a year now and it’s very frustrating. I’ve also done a 3 month course of herbal antibiotics and recently finished the elemental diet. Recently, I found out I have LOW Stomach Acid (Bile reflux) which is the root cause of my SIBO and yeast overgrowth.
Yes!! This sounds just like me! I was first prescribed antacids and it ended up making me worse. I have acid reflux as part of my SIBO. And the rest of your story sounds similar to me too! Methane sibo is the wort because Xifixan doesnt help. I tried herbals and they didd nothing either. Its so hard!!
I'm absolutely stunned to know your story. I'm suffering like hell and I feel for you. My doctors put me on RIFAXIMIN before even conducting the breath tests as they wanted to test my sibo through clinical trial instead. It's only made things worse. I'd like to know your experience with this type of antibiotic. How did it make things worse for you and for how long? And help and answer would be much appreciated :)
The antibiotics help a week. At first my test was suspicious for H SIBO, after Rifaximine, it became full blown Methane SIBO. It just wiped out my normal bacteria and gave opportunity to non- bacterial organisms to grow. Wrong decision to take Rifaximine 😮💨
I read somewhere your pregnant your body goes into a different mode and chronic illness you have can go away. Your body gets stronger In a way because you are carrying a baby. I know someone who has chronic gastritis and it went away while they were pregnant too.
I might have sibo. I need a test. But I started celery juice today. I'm going to bring my acid level up with celery juice first and I'll add that botaine HCL stuff in a few weeks. I'm testing the waters.
I am starting to think that methane based Sibo in women is due to fluctuating Progesterone and it's a hormonal disorder side effect because progesterone helps with gut transit times.
Thanks for sharing your story! I have methane dominant SIBO as well so I know how frustrating it can be. I've tried working with a holistic health care provider and traditional GI. Still no relief unfortunately. Have you found anything over the past couple years that has helped?
I have just been diagnosed with methane sibo, i await treatment.... i think i want to go to a holistic holiday resort where you eat nothing and cure everything...
God Bless you. I have SIBO too. Trying the Xifaxan for two weeks, followed by the elemental diet for two weeks, followed by the low fodmap diet combined with herbal antibiotics. I will let you know what results I have.
Hi there. Wow, your story is incredible! I’m curious, with the methane SIBO do you have constipation? I believe I’m suffering from the same but with no stomach pain but with severe constipation.
Hi there, thanks for sharing! I am have methane SIBO. I have been on a lowfodmap diet since Octo 2022. I've added sourdough, lactose free half and half (for decaf coffee) and low fodmap cheeses here and there. Ive done two rounds of antibiotics and many supplements through my dr. I'm tired of the strictness and the overload of supplements. I'm sorry for you long journey, so frustrating! It sounds like you haven't exactly found anything that helps other than pregnancy?
Antibiotics will just disturb gut bacteria. I believe that SIBO is also linked to leaky gut. And leaky gut is in part the absence of certain good bacteria in the gut. Antibiotics kill good bacteria. Antimicrobial herbs I think would be more effective, with probiotics to teat SIBO for that reason.
Hi. You have no idea how much i thank you for sharing your story and the whole time i thought: oh my, you poor thing:( So happy you are doing better and helping us:)) Thank you so much
I did the carnivore diet for a year. Turns out it doesn't kill it off, all the bloating comes right back when you reintroduce foods. This is according to mainstream and holistic professionals. You will have to actually take something to get rid of it. That's where I'm at now, trying to figure out what to take.
@@Aimee_Esther when you bath?time plz.Did you bath after eating fud?when you sleep?when you wake up?Do you zinc deficiency?Did you eat leafy vegetables regularly?.plz reply sis.
I’ve been suffering from methane sibo since at least 2011 maybe even longer ago. Of course I went undiagnosed until 2017 and have since had so much trouble getting it under control. My insurance refused to pay for rifaximin because apparently it is only approved to for ibs-d so even though I had a prescription for rifaximin for my sibo, insurance refused and I can’t afford the out of pocket cost. In addition to learning I had methane sibo, I also found out I have atrophic gastritis along with pernicious anemia and possibly Crohn’s disease. The number of deficiencies I have leave me so fatigued, tired, and with severe brain fog. I don’t know what the answers are but i hope we find them soon
So sorry you have to deal with that!!! Well if it makes you feel better rifaxian did absolutely nothing for me. Hope you find the answers youre looking for!!!!
Super rough, so sorry to hear. Healthcare these days in a bleeping joke. For folks like us we should be given additional stipends for gym membership, specialty foods and reduced work loads from the fatigue and bowel issues as those work better than rifaximin anyway for methane dominate. I should know, paid for it cash four times with very little results.
I'm starting the process of testing for these exact same symptoms as you mentioned. My doctor first thought it was all because of my gallbladder so I had it removed. It was very infected when they removed it but apparently removing it did nothing for my symptoms. I've dealt with bloating and burping for a little over a year now. Stomach pains have just now started too on and off but daily. My primary doctor wants to try digest enzymes next and I have already tried the lowfob diet which didnt help. Acid meds also didnt work. I'm so frustrated and I am about to have to go to a GI doctor. I'm terrified of all the testing but I know my quality of life is terrible right now. I'm 36 and 114lbs but I look like I'm 9 months pregnant. Mine gets worse as I eat throughout the day so many days I put off eating even though I'm hungry. I've lost 36 pounds from when this first started a year ago. I suspect sibo but I'm hoping to find a GI doctor willing to test for that first. I dread a colonoscopy and endoscopy so bad. I'm so sorry you have had to deal with all of this and still have no true relief. You've been through so much... 🙁 I just want to thank you for sharing your story with the world. I've learned a lot just from your video.
Thank you for sharing your story with me. I hope you find some relief soon! Wish i had some better answers for you! Im still looking myself, but sharing my story is something i can do to help bring awareness!
I'm in the same boat as you antibiotics for two straight years off and on all the herbals off and on my only system is that I'm super bloated breath test shows hydrogen and methane sibo I know a few people who flew out of the country to get the fecal micro transplant and they all had sibo and they're cured unfortunately I don't have the cash for it
Have you tried the elemental diet yet? I’m just finishing my first week of it and I’m planning on going for a full four weeks as I have had SIBO for at least ten years and think it’s going to take all the extra effort to get rid of it.
I have SIBO and have just started the (specific carbohydrate diet) and its helped me a great deal. I've only been on it for about 2 weeks and I feel so much better!! I still have the bloating (but its better) and the stomach pain, nausea, headaches, and indigestion has gone. The specific carbohydrate diet heals the inside of your gut and is the only thing that might work. Get the book on the specific carbohydrate diet called Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet. Watch the video by the woman who wrote the book Dr Elaine Gottschall.
@@margiepalmer9519 I have been doing this for about 2 weeks also...lifelong bloating went to normal in the first few days! still have terrible motility though :(
I had to abort the elemental diet after 12 days due to blood sugar problems. My insulin and later cortisol got so out of wack. I stopped being able to sleep and started getting very emotionally distressed. I also developed more inflammation aches and pains. Bloating did not improve at all when I came off. I regret it.
i just got diagnosed with sibo, ive been struggling with symptoms for years but they recently got extremely bad and painful so i finally went to the doctor. i dont know what i should do, take my antibiotics and go for low fodmap or really up the acidity with lemon, acv, etc.
@@Aimee_Esther Great Plains Labs has some good urine tests, too. Which lab did yours? Have you followed Byron Herbalist on TH-cam? He has an excellent case study on Methane SIBO and how he was able to successfully treat a patient for which other therapies and antibiotics had failed.

Please guys I need help, doctors ain't helping me ....I have excess flatulence and trapped gas and it's driving me crazy, always trapped gas even after passing some.... please what can help?
What is archea ? I don't understand and Google translate neither. French is my native language and I've never heard about archea regarding of digestion issues. 😆 Thanks.
I have the exact same story. Had pots 3 years before my whole life never had any issues with food of any kind now with pots i bloat and react to most things. When you said nausea do you get nausea when you drink fluids? that's when I feel it worst.
I only drink water, and nothing else, but yeah when I drink water I usually feel a little worse....BUT always thirsty becauseeee POTS haha! It is a struggle! You should get tested for SIBO. It is super common with POTS. Not much you can do about it, but it's good to know! So sorry you are going through this! Wishing you the best!
Unfortunately not symptom free yet... i have been pregnant and nursing so i dont have a good sibo protocol right now. Once i am back to more normal life ill let you know!
Aimee, thank you for your thorough video! What is the name or type of medication that the individual at the POTS conference suggested is better to treat the archaea? Was she suggesting statins?
@Trace Hillier I have same problem like u... Plz suggest me what treatment u had done.. Because I don't have money to investigate to go to hospital... Plz reply me
Hi can sibo also cause horrid breath. Since we have been masking I noticed my breath smelled like sulfur and felt like it could smell a whole room. I have bloating first sure. My np didn’t do sibo tests but went ahead a prescribed xifaxan
Which is the best hour to take antibiotics in this case? It has to be with meals? And it has to be like 12 hours to 12 hours to next dose or one dose each day?
I also don’t know how legitimate these breath tests are . I have taken a lactose, hydrogen, and sucrose test . Results came back positive and tried changing my diet to see if it helped . It didn’t help at all . Other breath tests that I also have taken is the fructose test but that one came back negative .
Aimee Esther i swear , doctors have thrown all kinds and tests and diagnoses on me from ibs, lactose intolerance, sibo, GERD, isomaltase sucrase deficiency, to pelvic floor dysfunction. I’ve tried many tests including colonoscopy, blood work, an unpleasant test where u take a bariam and they have defecate while they take an x-ray. So much misery. In the end , all blood work , colonoscopy and x-rays come back normal . So annoying ......
Hi Aimee! I'm so sorry you're going through this! I was just diagnosed with Hydrogen & Methane dominate SIBO and my doctor put me on antibiotics. I am curious though, I see that you list endometriosis as one of your conditions... I actually am looking into the possibility that my SIBO has been caused by my endo. Has any doctor mentioned this to you?
That's interesting. I have endometriosis along with all the gut issues mentioned here. I'm going to mention this to my holistic doctor to see if he's noticed a trend.
Watched your video, umm, you said you have pots,it is a disorder of autonomic nervous system, and hence in some way,it is affecting your small intestinal motility, due to which the colonic bacteria are going up in the small guts, and causing sibo,I think you should have medication which increases intestinal motility, and lower abs motility exercises, sibo is also very common in diabetic autonomic neuropathy, the mechanism is same, where intestinal motility gets restricted, hope that helps you,I myself am also a doctor,Dr.Soumik, nice meeting you.
Hey girl, how are you doing this year with your SIBO? I deal with wicked 9 month pregnant looking bloating too and the burping. As of yet, I have not found anything that helps.
Hi! I am currently 24 weeks pregnant, so it's kind of hard to say. Once this baby comes I need to do an updated SIBO video. I haven't done much for SIBO since i've been pregnant, but it is still here for sure. Pregnancy can change the SIBO too so I don't want to say much of an update until this baby comes and things calm down.
I have been taking trulance for what i believed is/was IBS-C. So after reading "the bloated belly whisperer" ive come to conclusion i have SIBO. Now im hoping the nurse im seeing will order breayh test. If i test positive for either hydro or meth dom then im going to hope to get med. Insurance will probably say no. That altria or whatever sounds like a good one for meth dom. My chief complaints are left side bloating, tons of gas, farts that stink so bad i cant believe it,cant produce a normal dump, and miserable. My gas is unbelievably raunchy that i gotta run out of rooms and blame it others
@@gordonpeter1061 Ive given up and just fart everywhere and anywhere. I eat too much or nor enough. Dietary changes actually work. My shit no longer looks like a big pile of rocks.
The thing with symptoms getting better during pregnancy could come from a higher production of DAO, the histamine cleaving enzyme... Have you ever been tested for histamine issues??
@@Aimee_Esther do so! I have it and it almost killed me several times but everytime I manage it, all my chronic issues from my gut to my thyroid, brain, skin, reproductive system,... get soooo much better! maybe its something to consider as if it is that, it could help you resolve some of the other issues too. (even tho there is most of the times something triggering the intolerance in the first place ... but anyways, there are so many kinds (like too much and too little histamine))... ....hope you're doing well!!
@@Piecesoftheshadow the main thing that helps me is to always cook fresh from fresh ingredients. Never eat leftovers (so I'd rather cook less and eat more often during the day than to cook a big batch that makes leftovers). I always go for fresh and not overripe fruit and vegetables (I don't eat stonefruit like peaches and apricots, as well as citrus except lemons and I also can't really do bananas, strawberries and kiwi. For veggies I stay away from eggplant and spinach as they really mess with my body)... I stay away from stuff like tofu, soy sauce, fermented cabbage and other fermented food EXCEPT yogurt which you have to go for additive free ones. So additives are a big point. The less ingredients a thing has, the better you'll do with it. Gums, E numbers and this stuff can mess with you a lot. If you aren't too sure, try staying away from yeast (that's a big one for most - beer, bread, nutritional yeast) and wheat products and see if it helps. Also: Pollen allergy. If you have one, this is messing with your histamine levels. Try to get a good amount of sleep and try to keep your stress levels as low as possible. For exercise, I don't do well with long ones like running or cycling. HIT and similar stuff doesn't rise histamine as much but that's a thing to see for yourself. Also, histamine and estrogen are linked, so there's a chance that during certain parts of your cycle, your tolerance differs. For strong reactions, try having an antihistamine that works for you on hand, just to be safe. That also lowers your stress when you know you have one :)
I know this comment is rather late in the year, but I just came across your video. I was listening to a podcast that talked about methane dominant SIBO and Atrantil. It helps a lot of people who have methane dominant SIBO. I am struggling with a lot of the issues you and others have described. I was told I have SIBO through a GI-Maps stool test. Based on my symptoms, it seems mine might be methane dominant. :(
Try out celery juice. I've been bloated for 16 years and this green gold seems to have potential to be the cure. I have enjoyed it now for a couple of weeks the first thing in the morning and felt really good compared to what I used to be. I also eat AIP diet and take HCL and enzymes with food. Wish you'll find the best solution for your belly!
I wish! Just some of my digestion issues... i also have POTS, Fibro, Hashimotos Disease, and a bunch more. So even if i did one day beat sibo, id still have lots of chronic pain.
Aimee Esther I know. Because I think sibo has led to all the list of what you just said. In my case too.... sibo causes fibro pain ... sibo cause me auto immunity response ...

The reason you felt better while pregnant is because when pregnant your body is producing huge amounts of dao enzyme, which breaks down histamine. When your baby was born, that stopped, which is why you felt worse again after. Sibo can cause histamine intolerance.
I can attest to this
Can you speak more to this!! When I am pregnant I feel amazing and about 4-6 week postpartum everything comes back. How do I get more of that enzyme??
hang in there! and keep in mind that when you have anxiety, your body can not self-heal. my experience taught me that i need to learn how to relax myself, calm my brain down and my body does the healing. of course 5 hr breaks between meals help a lot too
@@olyanikulin6238 THANKS!
Look into low HCL levels in the stomach. As well as low bile and lack of pancreatic enzyme symptoms. And dont ask your doctor... do the research yourself.
@Melissa any updated regarding ur previous problem
Kefir really helps with Sibo and IBS so long as it is biotica and not a mobility issue
Also add in ox bile and pancreatic enzymes 😎🤗💖 all of these dysfunctions run in tandem. When one goes haywire ...often, the rest follow
Pepper mint oil on an empty stomach first thing in the morning helped me with my Sibo 😊

I'm editing, rather than removing my mean comment, so the other ones can stay. SIBO MAKES ME FEEL MEAN! Anyone else feel this way?
@@jewelli6536 ..Perhaps the meanness is a sign of being overwhealmed..I have that as well..I take extra vitamin C, a B complex and D3...and exercise..I also limit what I do that causes stress...and learn to trust that God won't give me more than I can deal with...which means I set boundaries, pray and study the Bible..(Psalms are great)
I have been bouncing around doctors and had problems with my intestines and they think its IBS.
I understand because I have it n I'm still fighting it
Good idea! This is just my story from the beginning symptoms until i made the video! Ill do more SIBO updates as life continues!

Guys, any chance fasting will help?
@Lily how is ur health now. R u free from sibo right now
Aatif Charfare yes!
My stomach is going down.
plain dairy free yogurt ??? VEGAN???
Which brand?
Hey Aimee. I also have methane dominant SIBO. I take Atrantil every day and it helps me live a normal life (until the science catches up to tell us what the underlying problem is). Glad to hear you're doing better, but if things get worse I'd give Atrantil a try. :)
Oh wow. Thats awesome!!! Who prescribed it to you?
@@Aimee_Esther It's a natural supplement actually. No prescription necessary. :) It looks super gimmicky (in marketing) because the FDA has not approved it as a SIBO supplement. But, it's honestly changed my life. I actually have a few videos about it that explain how it works. atrantil.com/ It was developed by a gastroenterologist who happens to also be a functional medicine doctor, which is definitely a rare combo.
Waste of money
@@castrorichy i had it for a few days it did nothing but apparently helps with the bloat for others
No to Dr. Berg!
How are you getting on thanks
Oregano oil and allicin work very well.. Also a sugar free diet and low carb... You might have had also SIFO with the IMO
Dosage?
I have methane dominant and found a lot of relief from three weeks on the elemental diet. Then I moved to the Bi-Phasic SIBO diet with antifungals to address underlying SIFO.
So glad you found something that worked for you!!
Can you please explain the diets? Thank you
Wow that's such a frustrating story! I cannot believe you went through all that! But now you know and have a great story behind it!
-You probably have slow motioity which can be a root cause of sibo and methane dominat, they give you prokinetics for that.
Buy neem, Berberin, allicin capsules and take them twice a day for one month. Read the book supergut and make L reuteri yogurt
Neem is not to be used if pregnant or trying to conceive.
I’m just scared I been living with IBS for years in just learning of this after I got really sick out of nowhere . Ty for sharing .
Take baking clove powder in a chai tea. Drink it daily also fresh lemon juice squeezed from lemons
Thanks for sharing your story. When you do the sibo breath test they can tell you if its methane dominant.
How are you feeling? Did you get rid of Sibo?
Wow! What an experience you went through. I hope you are doing better!!
Aimee Esther do what do you do now for the acid reflux?
@@jazzy17forever nothing major. Just dont drink tons of water after eating, limit spicy/citrus foods, and dont lay down immedietly after eating.

And that helps you? You don’t take anything else? I would love to hear more about what you eat.
Live love laugh did the elemental diet help any?
I'm absolutely stunned to know your story. I'm suffering like hell and I feel for you. My doctors put me on RIFAXIMIN before even conducting the breath tests as they wanted to test my sibo through clinical trial instead. It's only made things worse. I'd like to know your experience with this type of antibiotic. How did it make things worse for you and for how long? And help and answer would be much appreciated :)
I have dealt with undiagnosed sibo.for 3 years. The antibiotic dont helped i tried it. Look up medical medium and you will find answers
This also happend to me with the medication. Feelt better a little and my gut got more bad after lost alot.of.weight
Have you found anything over the past couple years that has helped?
do you have nausea with your symptoms? I have severe nausea at night and it doesn't let me sleep. Also hiccups all the time.
I have just been diagnosed with methane sibo, i await treatment.... i think i want to go to a holistic holiday resort where you eat nothing and cure everything...

Hi there. Wow, your story is incredible! I’m curious, with the methane SIBO do you have constipation? I believe I’m suffering from the same but with no stomach pain but with severe constipation.
Mine switches between C and D. So yes? But also no 😂
I'm also facing the same problem,I am on protein diet, cause whenever I eat carbohydrates it makes me constipated, also avoid eating anything cold.
I took plain non dairy yogurt in my smoothies and it helped tremendously regarding constipation and gas. Celery juice is also as effective.
And why wouldnt the BREATH TEST BE FIRST???
Instead if all those other expensive a d invasive tests.
Have you tried Atrantil? Also SEED probiotics. Both have helped me. I had very high methane scores ( in the 70’s)
Hi. You have no idea how much i thank you for sharing your story and the whole time i thought: oh my, you poor thing:( So happy you are doing better and helping us:)) Thank you so much
You could try the carnivore diet for a month. I have heard it helps. Also add garlic. Avoid fiber until you feel better.
Thanks so much!
I did the carnivore diet for a year. Turns out it doesn't kill it off, all the bloating comes right back when you reintroduce foods. This is according to mainstream and holistic professionals. You will have to actually take something to get rid of it. That's where I'm at now, trying to figure out what to take.
You don’t remember the antibiotics they gave you for the methane??? And how did you treat it naturally?
This is dumb
I have methane dominant sibo . Still trying to get it handled .
So did you cure it or not? I appreciate the story, but you didn't tell if you cured it and if what worked
Nope. Still living with SIBO 5.5 years later
@@Aimee_Esther oh, so you are still on SIBO diet?
@@Aimee_Esther when you bath?time plz.Did you bath after eating fud?when you sleep?when you wake up?Do you zinc deficiency?Did you eat leafy vegetables regularly?.plz reply sis.
Actually, that doctor of yours was on the right path - it's the gallbladder dysfunction. Look into Ursodeoxycholic acid and bile salts.
hi why would u think it is bile acid issue
Is anyone else experiencing bad breath from Sibo?
It seems like fasting is the only thing that works. And carnivore diet.

This is what ive tried. Hope you find your answer.
Super rough, so sorry to hear. Healthcare these days in a bleeping joke. For folks like us we should be given additional stipends for gym membership, specialty foods and reduced work loads from the fatigue and bowel issues as those work better than rifaximin anyway for methane dominate. I should know, paid for it cash four times with very little results.
can relate to this very much.
Im still looking myself, but sharing my story is something i can do to help bring awareness!
betaine HCL get in now Katie

hi katie any update it is painful and frustrating i can't live:(
Doctors are confused too.
The second antibiotic for methane is neomycin
I'm in the same boat as you antibiotics for two straight years off and on all the herbals off and on my only system is that I'm super bloated breath test shows hydrogen and methane sibo I know a few people who flew out of the country to get the fecal micro transplant and they all had sibo and they're cured unfortunately I don't have the cash for it
i had the transplant. it did nothing for my sibo.
@@elena-mariagrigore2666 omg. I saw a top Stanford dr. Treating me Said there coming out with new transplant targeting the small intestine.
I know I get bloated like her , it literally hurts and I'm set up for testing finally
I have SIBO but no health insurance so I've done the diet changes, and it's barely helping. 😢
i just got diagnosed with sibo, ive been struggling with symptoms for years but they recently got extremely bad and painful so i finally went to the doctor. i dont know what i should do, take my antibiotics and go for low fodmap or really up the acidity with lemon, acv, etc.
What procedure did you have to test for the SIBO? What is the testing called exactly that confirmed the diagnosis?
Hydrogen breath test
@@Aimee_Esther Great Plains Labs has some good urine tests, too. Which lab did yours?
Have you followed Byron Herbalist on TH-cam? He has an excellent case study on Methane SIBO and how he was able to successfully treat a patient for which other therapies and antibiotics had failed.
How is your daughter with her stomach ? As you had so many medication in your blood , before the pregnancy .hope your baby girl is not suffering from caliche .
No I wasn't pregnant when I was on these medications. So it didn't effect her. 😊
Hello Aimme!
Did you take Neomicin antibiotics too?
Just wanted to ask you , how's it going now , im 15 mth now finally got diagnosed and on all the supplements that my homeopathic gave me
Please guys I need help, doctors ain't helping me ....I have excess flatulence and trapped gas and it's driving me crazy, always trapped gas even after passing some.... please what can help?
I am facing similar situation😞. Did you find any cure?
What is archea ? I don't understand and Google translate neither. French is my native language and I've never heard about archea regarding of digestion issues. 😆 Thanks.
Antibiotics made my stomach bad. I suffer with back gas pain. Just feeling like pressure in the Middle of my back and bubbling. Constipation too
I have the exact same story.
@@Aimee_Esther whats your routine now and are you symptom free?
Unfortunately not symptom free yet... i have been pregnant and nursing so i dont have a good sibo protocol right now. Once i am back to more normal life ill let you know!
Try L- Glutamine and Betaine HCL together.
Aimee, thank you for your thorough video! What is the name or type of medication that the individual at the POTS conference suggested is better to treat the archaea? Was she suggesting statins?
Antratil
Sooo you didn't find anything that worked?
Omg so similar to me. I had hydrogen and methane sibo. Burp burp. :( heartburn stomach burns gas bloating nausea....
Etc
Its the worst!!! So sorry you have to deal with it.
it's horrible. I have it bad. I lay down at night and burp for hours
@Trace Hillier I have same problem like u... Plz suggest me what treatment u had done.. Because I don't have money to investigate to go to hospital... Plz reply me
had or have?
Hi can sibo also cause horrid breath. Since we have been masking I noticed my breath smelled like sulfur and felt like it could smell a whole room. I have bloating first sure. My np didn’t do sibo tests but went ahead a prescribed xifaxan
How are you doing now?
Since your breath smells like sulfur, you should look into hydrogen sulfide SIBO.
Seriously... i swear everyone would test positive to sibo haha
Hi sister...what is meaning of sibo
THIs was the underlying cause of my SIBO, it a very common association.
Thanks so much for the advice!! Im pregnant right now but once bby comes an im done breastfeeding ill be diving back into sibo. treatments
The bacteria itself can be what’s caused the POts as well
Hey girl, how are you doing this year with your SIBO? I deal with wicked 9 month pregnant looking bloating too and the burping. As of yet, I have not found anything that helps.
Hi! I am currently 24 weeks pregnant, so it's kind of hard to say. Once this baby comes I need to do an updated SIBO video. I haven't done much for SIBO since i've been pregnant, but it is still here for sure. Pregnancy can change the SIBO too so I don't want to say much of an update until this baby comes and things calm down.
I have methane dominant SIBO, too
I have been taking trulance for what i believed is/was IBS-C.
I just farted now and holy sh@t it stinks like some seriously foul disgusting odor. Imagine if i farted in a college class on gastroentolovg
What have you done that helps?

Yes

@@Aimee_Esther how's your health now?
Is it improving?
The thing with symptoms getting better during pregnancy could come from a higher production of DAO, the histamine cleaving enzyme... Have you ever been tested for histamine issues??
I havent but ive looked into it. Ill keep doing my research!
Hana S I have histamine intolerance. What really helps you to feel better and get it under some control?
Did you manage to heal it? Any update?
Do you have H Pylori or have had it?
I know this comment is rather late in the year, but I just came across your video. I was listening to a podcast that talked about methane dominant SIBO and Atrantil. It helps a lot of people who have methane dominant SIBO. I am struggling with a lot of the issues you and others have described. I was told I have SIBO through a GI-Maps stool test. Based on my symptoms, it seems mine might be methane dominant. :(
Thanks so much!!! I have heard of that recently and i will talk to my doctor about it.
Thanks for sharing
and you dont have Crohn disease?
So did you finally resolve it?
Try out celery juice. I've been bloated for 16 years and this green gold seems to have potential to be the cure. I have enjoyed it now for a couple of weeks the first thing in the morning and felt really good compared to what I used to be. I also eat AIP diet and take HCL and enzymes with food.
