The most important part of this video was your story. Thank you for sharing. Although I served time overseas during a conflict, I would never compare my experience to someone who literally lived in it. Just as you said, many of us here complain about little things that are luxuries to others...Be humble and count your blessings.

Fall of 1976 -- 4th Grade -- in the San Francisco Bay Area a new student came into my class. Lena Manoukian. She and her family had to leave their home in Beirut because of the war. We became friends because I was assigned to help her out (mostly because she wasn't fluent in English -- she blew me away in long division with a different method than we were learning). I'll never forget the day her parents came to our class and told us about the civil war in Lebanon and showed us their family slides...including their high rise apartment building before and after it'd been blown to smithereens. First time war seemed real to me.

I never thought watching a craftsman cobbler would be so entertaining. I admire craftsmanship in any field. Hearing a tidbit about your childhood in Lebanon helps me understand and admire your inner character. Your character is as much a part of your appeal as your creative craftsmanship. You mentioned someone commented on your dirty fingernails. Growing up on a farm in rural East Tennessee in the 1950's my dad taught me, “There is nothing wrong with honest dirt.” May God bless you and yours.

I also watch Trenton and Heath, they do great work, I like your details best, the explanation of how things work and how it should be done. His shop is long gone but his work ethic will rermain with me.

Your parents were extremely brave to move to a new country and start all your lives from scratch; I know it must have been a difficult decision to leave everything behind, but they may have saved all your lives. I respect immensely their strength and determination to give the best life that they could to you, and they must have been extremely proud of their sons and the men they became.

Came here for the shoe repair. Stayed and liked for the war story. Keep up a good work Steve! And please do share more of those stories. By telling them you remind people how lucky and spoiled we actually are right now.

BEAUTIFUL! I love to watch a craftsman at work. Thank you for demonstrating and explaining your techniques. Also, I enjoyed hearing about your childhood in Lebanon. I cannot imagine living in a war zone, and as a child, thinking it was normal. God Bless America. Let Freedom Ring 🇺🇸

Oh yeah, let interventionism like what happened in Chile in 1973 keep going, right?
