Cool. I have a 2006 Matrix 4WD at 190,000 miles and stills runs great. Just recently replaced intake gaskets to fix rough idle and ltft of 6 (no lean codes). I am seriously in love with this car, it has excellent handling and utility. It has never ever not started (save dead battery) About to slap a set of michelin defenders on.
I have the 03 vibe GT Truly unknown little beast. Brand new steering knuckle assemblies, tie rods, sway links, ball joints, control arms just put in. Fresh Clutch, fresh engine seals, tires, so much more being installed. Should have made my own youtube series! Lol
Wow the 2008 Toyota Matrix is legitimately one of the best/reliable cars ever built. If the previous owner blew the engine, it was due to extreme neglect.
@@ChadWilliamsFixesAll looking forward to this. I got mine earlier this year. It runs & drives, so Im mostly looking for preventative maintenance. Also, I like the valve cover gasket video, which led me to here
Oh nice! Matrix’s and Vibe’s are great car, very useful with all the storage too. The valve cover video was on my buddy’s car (Vibe). Glad you liked it!
We have a 2005 XR and it had roughly 360k the odometer quit spinning at 299,999 but we still keep up with it through the trip on when to change the oil
Hi love your videos they are a great help. But I have a problem and I would like your help/opinion. I bought an 04 corolla with a seized engine. I removed both engine & tranny, installed a used engine using the same transmission. Before putting it back I checked and made sure it turned over by hand. Once back installed I tried to turn it over by hand but it will only turn half way 180° not the full 360°. Removed valve cover and noticed when it turns the chain gets real lose. Would the timing be off and would that keep it from turning over all the way?
It is totally possible that the timing jumped somehow. It would be best to retime it and possibly get a new timing kit while you are in there. Those tensioners are oil pressure driven, so can get loose when spinning over when not running. Hope you can figure it out! :) And thank you for watching!
Do you think this is a good car to buy in 2022 if the car is from 2010 under 100,000 miles? Would you recommend a new radiator, hoses, power steering o ring, chain, tensioner, timing cover gasket change just from the age?
It’s still a good car. I’d start with changing all the fluids first like engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, etc.. while changing the fluids I would inspect for leaks and if the bigger components that you mentioned are leaking, I would then replace them.
I'm driving an 04 with 186k, other than some maintenance stuff here and there, she's been rock solid. Cheap, functional, and actually kinda fun to drive if you get it in a 5 speed mt. I actually drove it home 80 miles with a bad misfire due to a bad spark plug and she took me all the way home no problem.

All these are cleaning fixing channels are the same. They throw mud on it and let it dry then say it wasn’t cleaned in years. A power wash and generic music. Then they say wow that was satisfying. Been there done that.
Interesting project, but its not worth wrecking your body by pushing it around so much, for the sake of some old car. Also, i call BS on those plugs. Seemed a bit too much like a setup for dramatics. Your smirking totally gave that away

Same here got an 06 matrix and love it.
Do you recommend a intake gasket replacement? I have an 07 m theory 180k
Check it for leaks with a smoke machine. Do you have a vacuum leak in the first place? I would determine that first.@@brucelee9941

For real, i have a 2006 xr with 210k miles and it has not wavered in reliability. Only repair i had to do was from a ac condenser failing
@@HallowsawYou recommend one as a first car?
They burn oil like crazy
I have an '03 Matrix, and I'm looking forward to some insights from this series. Thank you for making this!
You’re welcome! We got more of this series coming this week!

@@ChadWilliamsFixesAll oh yeah, those are the very reasons why I bought it 👍🏾
@@OzKittyboi How many miles do you have on your matrix? And how's the timing chain cover? Any leaks?
Kyle is ready to fight the matrix
Good on you Kyle

Hey started watching your channel today . I think you got real potential:) great job keeping consistent 👏 👌
I have a 2005 255,190 miles and runs great. Want to restore it though.
damn nice shop guys!

I have a 2003 Matrix with 90k miles. Still runs like a top.

Its a 2010 not a 1910 get a grip
also cool video. I have a 2009 and I love it
I have an 03 … about to replace the timing chain tensioner… ( bad oil leak)
That does seem premature for the matrix I have a 2006 with 230,000 miles in it and still running
My matrix is at 259k miles. Really hoping she lasts to the 300 😢
Watch your new e seeing them actually fix it.
The Great White Hope? You may want to run any future names through a PR firm first. 😂

😂 yeah, I can just make algae grow on the car by throwing mud on it. Not everything you watch has to be fake…
