I've ridden both systems, just 2 of several systems I've used. Montreal gets full marks for putting the entire system underground. This has enhanced the useful life of equipment and saved thousands of dollars on dealing with weather related problems, especially in our Canadian winters. Not to mention all the grief and aggravation for all. Toronto gets credit for the way that passengers can get on and off with ease at the ends of routes rather than wait on a platform for the train to switch tracks before boarding. Nice and convenient when one train pulls out, to go into another and sit down on the next one.
+Joyce Taylor Also, I would add that TO design helps for ventilation, which saves HUGE MONEY on Hydro. So, it all depends how you look at it. MTL gets to keep their trains longer, but spends lots of money running ventilation systems across the system. Something that doesn't occur in TO, because there is always a break in the tunnel and air escapes. Especially when the AC is on. And that means less noise on the stations that those ventilation fans make.
+Joyce Taylor I would also add that TO subway cars are also wider, since it's a standard gauge. Means more space inside the cars. And the fact that it rides on steel, it's a smoother ride. And in the new trains, you hardly hear the track "clacking". It's very quiet inside those trains. You also hardly hear the Air conditioners when they're on. And finally, the fact that it's partially above ground makes gives an operator a bit of a break of constantly being underground in the dark. It's nice that the train gets on the surface for a few stops and you get some sunlight.
+Gisele Ngalula The Azur cars are being introduced here in Montreal. But being entirely underground is wonderful! I could go to my university without having a coat!
EXCELLENT video! I had the pleasure of riding the TTC way back in 1980 then again upon my last visit to Toronto in 2012. It was a MUST for me to ride the TTC both trips since I'm from NYC and grew up riding the subway there (in addition to being a train/subway enthusiast). I found the TTC SPOTLESS (superbly clean, stations and tracks), safe with beautiful stations. I made sure during the 2012 visit to video record for my channel the subway ride I had taken. Canada, Canadians are wonderful and Toronto is stunningly beautiful!
A personal trainer like them and a Final Run for the H5 Subway Car or a TR train repeatedly denied due to TTC Worker Quality and training blows around North York Centre and Summerhill stations. They are return to Polo mushrooms base thru Wellesley St. E and Lakeshore Blvd W at Baie D'Urfe like CN Rail, VIA Rail Canada and CP Rail on special Railroad crossings over Montreal, ON and some stopped by Long Branch GO Station to be evacuated from Baie D'Urfe to Toronto Union Station. I am breaking around the town, but you need to take the GO Train from Toronto Union Station to Allandale Waterfront the Barrie Line like this one.
foresight seventy-nine I am born and living there, And it's a very nice place! You have Ripley Aquarium, Centre Island, CN Tower, It's just a very cool place!! You should visit!
+Crazy Maniac I think NYC's will look even more like this in the future. The MTA is about to do a pilot program with extended train cars, or rather ones that you can simply walk between without having to go outside of the car. I used to like walking from one end of the train to the other when I lived in the city. I have to say, I don't miss taking the subway.
Ruzatrome Toronto's system is waaaaaay CLEANER and safer I'm sure than the NYCTA system which I grew up on and still love. You're probably speaking about station design? Yes, very similar to NYC.

Gisele Ngalula personally i think the T1 is more smoother than the Toronto Rockets.

For some reason what really sticks out for me in this video are the Transcendence movie posters.
How incredibly CLEAN....
Yeah well I take it in to work every morning...the footage makes it look so peaceful, but it's nothing like that trust me!
YUS line is a disaster in the rush hour. But once Bloor and Union pass, then its okay.
The TTC is not yet changing the trains on line 2 to the ones on line 1 and 4(as of July 5th 2016)
They did for 4 and 1
@@draze5521 they are retiring line 2 trains in 2026
Gotta love that Bombardier propulsion :3
Awesome footage!
I know ttc so well, and it’s getting a new line!

I always wondered what the City of Toronto would be like to visit.

Actually, the subway system that you have mentioned in your above commentary is really in Toronto, Canada. It is not located in Montreal at all.
Wut
this looks a lot like the subway in new york

JEUMONT FOREVER Yes I have now!!!

at 7:11, TTC T1 5000 is spotted.
I can't tell. lol
Is there a Conductor onboard TTC trains? I didn't see anyone watching the doors..
Frankly Speaking yes there is. They are by the last car (on the new train) and the second last car (older train).
@@cloudedflower They all at the back now (I live in Toronto) and they have been for a while as far has line 2 is concerned.
How many cars long?
we have 6 car subways on lines 1 and 2, 4 car subways on line 4, and 4 car small rapid transit trains on line 3.
Dude, this is not a video about Toronto's subway system. It's just trains entering and exiting stations. Zero information to be had here.
then go away and find a video that caters to your liking
I love canada
