they have a lot of great songs... if someone's really into this kind of music. one of my favs still is ELUVEITIE - Thousandfold (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) th-cam.com/video/kb8WGig0MLU/w-d-xo.html
Love this band! The lyrics comes from ancient writing in ancient Gaul. Chrigel (the singer here) is an expert on the language eventhough it is basically extinct. Iris Mona was an island where druids went for training back in the day. Other amazing songs by them is: Call of the mountains, Aidus, Rebirth, Exile Of The Gods, Ambriamus, Helvetios, King, LVGVS, Ategnatos, Epona & A Rose For Epona. Anna, the Hurdy Gurdy player here, left the band and formed her own band, Cellar Darling. Then Michalina took over, she left recently to for her own bad, Lyrre. Now Eluveitie has their 3rd Hurgy Gurdy Player.
Thanks for reviewing this! This song is in my top 5 favorites of all time, from any band. Eluveitie has two sides to them - acoustic celtic folk and heavy folk metal. Even though they have a few "signature" sound elements that identify them, very few of their songs sound alike. They are highly versatile, and their discography is huge! Many of their songs are sung in Gaulish, an extinct language. They have also evolved quite a bit from this time period. BTW, I think that is a version of a tin whistle that Chrigel is playing, not a flute. Early Eluveitie recommendations are: Luxtos, Omnos, Omnos (metal version), Santonian Shores, The Call of the Mountains, Uis Elveti, Memento. Late Eluveitie recommendations are: Breathe, Rebirth, The Slumber, Lvgvs, Ogmios.
Whoa! From ANY band?!? That's huge for you, Mossy. That speaks volumes! I couldn't tell what exactly he was playing, but a tin whistle I can see that. Thanks for the recommendations I'll add them to the list. Thank you, my friend!
Thanks, Bill. glad to see you're up and at it. I hope you're feeling well. I definitely find myself remembering those childhood memories and experiences now as I continue to get older. Things so simple at the time you'd never think many years later you'd be thinking of. I'm glad you enjoyed the song, I find those pipes so catchy, and just pulling a flute out of your pocket? Very Ian Anderson lol All the best to you and Nancy!
So glad you liked it! I really loved this song and band. Flute in the back pocket- absolutely Ian! I am feeling better, thank you. I hope you are as well, my friend. Nacy sends her best to you, too!
As others have commented, Aidus will bring you right up to date with where the band is now. They have experimented with a lot of different sounds while staying true to the folk metal sound. This one is a very old sound for them. One of my favourite bands, not just for the sound but also for their dedication to this very niche cultural sound - if a modern reimagination can be cultural. Inas Mona was the school for the druids in Wales that the Romans destroyed as part of their war against the Celts.
The unsubscribing shenanigans is very costumary in controversial channels. 😉😉 This is one of their classics, there's always a sing-along on this one. Bill, if you want a look at what they're up to recently, try Aidus. th-cam.com/video/7nFc-oS7dv0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PO7U2ptEhG6OcP45 This is not a band that has been resting on their laurels. 🤘🤘 In case you didn't see it, Helvetie is the ancient name for Switzerland, around the Roman period, and Eluveitie is an ancient spelling found in an inscription. Thanks for doing this band, they're big favorites of mine! 💖💖
it's kinda good and sad to see all the old eluveitie members, too many of them left and "rebirth" finally killed the band in my opinion. rafi, sevan, anna, ivo & merlin were crucial members, when they quit i stopped listening to elu's new stuff (gave it a try though, but the soul was gone imo).
That's interesting. Thank you for that info. This being my first experience with this band I have no idea of their history so this gives me something to consider when I dig deeper.
nice folk metal with a touch of Celtic magic!
All things Celtic are magical!! Thank you! 🤘❤️🤘
El-Vay-Tee 😊. Try their song "Rebirth" please
Thank you! I added your recommendation, my friend. Really appreciate that! 🤘❤️🤘

I love the instrumentation in this. So cool to hear all of those different instruments together.
Really is a nice blend. And very catchy too!

@@BemusingBill Thank you for your interest in Eluveitie, let's hope the new album comes soon. 🤘🤘
Inis Mona was an island were the last of the Celtic druids were exterminated by the Roman army. Highly recommended song: Aidus.
Thank you for the recommendation, my friend! I didn't know that part of the story!
@@BemusingBill you’re welcome, my friend. Keep up the good work!
Most metal piper ever 😂
