No just no, toes to bar is a core exercise and when you kip like that it's takes the core engagement out of it and just using momentum to get your legs up instead of core strength, the only time you would want to do toes to bar like this is when you practicing for kipping muscle up which you would only want to do if your just learning the muscle up and your working towards an actual strict muscle up, a gymnastics bar routine, or freestyle calisthenics where you want to use movement for a natural flow into other skills but never as strength training. That's where you do strict toes to bar to increase your core strength by not using momentum at all and doing a controlled full ROM

It doesn't take the core engagement out of it at all. Part if the essentual training for toes to bar is the hollow hold. Sure, it's not as core intensive as a strict version but then it's not meant to be. The point of thos version, in crossfit at least, is to build endurance and to use it as a compound exercise that works the shoulders and upper back muscles as well as the core.

100% agree. I am in the process of trying to do my toes-to-bar with my core. This kipping technique doesn't speak to me.

This also confused me a lot. I could see a logic in parts of the video but kipping is kipping :/. It was well presented in general but felt like a video that was introducing a progression towards toes to bar, rather than toes to bar.
