I work for the company that is the official accredited Samsung repair company in the UK and this is definitely not the way to remove the back cover . The phone is placed in an oven set at the correct temperature for a set amount of time and softens the glue holding it in place, once soft the rear cover is removed. To replace the rear cover a glue gasket is fitted to the phone and the phone is placed in the oven to soften the gasket and then the back cover is then fitted.
how would water go inside the phone if it is that glued? I mean, I have my phone that I forgot to take out from my pocket while entering the pool. I can see the water entering because the camera is wet...been 24hrs since then.

Took off the case with nothing but a sewing needle and a tooth-peck, just replaced the sticker afterwards and its back on. No need for a damn heat gun that not everyone has.

Samsung 2014: Makes IP67 water resistant S5 with simple click-in back case for easy battery removal. Why? Because that's what customers want.
Samsung 2019: Makes A50 with absolutely zero water resistance, but with heavily glued back panel that takes great ammount of skill to open to prevent you from upgrading your battery. The back panel is plastic so it's likely to get damaged when attempting to open it. Why? Because f*** you, that's why.

@@GAIUSJAKE Every day use, yes. Accidental sitting or putting it at a weird angle or something, no. That was for the A50 as well. A70 is way worse with an almost 7 inch screen, really thin and the back not supporting everything.

Throwing mine in the oven for an hour at 100 degree, will try to open with an old credit card with a sanded down edge, I fell in a river after trying to pole vault over using a 10 foot bamboo pole, it broke and I ended up submerged in the water with phone in the back pocket, of course the phone has not worked since. 😑
