Buying a new bike required me to buy a new lock! While I didn't need an excessive large lock, I did not want my bike to be an easy target for theft. That said, I went to Amazon and found what I think to be the best bang for your buck aka the best cheap bike lock for only $28.99. For just a couple bucks more than the lower end models, I got a thicker lock that comes with a heavy-duty cable to wrap around things. This 16MM U Lock is big enough to even fit around (and secure of course) most electric and folding bikes. Think I made a huge mistake or do you think this cheap amazon bike lock will be just fine? I have the same lock. And a disk caliber lock with an alarm. I’m going to order a thick chunky motorcycle chain lock. I only ever leave it outside of the store. I have a juiced scrambler with the upgraded battery. Thing was 2.2k dollars. I’m super paranoid about it getting clipped. I bring it inside at night or when I’m not using it. I think after watching the lock picking lawyer any lock can easily be picked. The trick is using 2-3 locks and locking it in smart safer areas of where you want to park. Most crackheads can’t pick a lock. But they can cut cables and chains. So it’s best to slow them down enough to get caught or decide it’s not worth it. I’m thinking about getting a second disk caliber lock with an alarm for the other tire too. So that way even if you defeat one the second ones going to be going off also

@@3411HeavenMedia I love it, it’s like an electric motorcycle for the city. I get 25 miles off of a charge and it goes 34 mph top speed. I mostly use the throttle and peddle around in race mode.
Make sure you have an alarm too. There’s some really good ones on Amazon for under $20. I have an Ariel rider X-Class and I’m a lot less paranoid and anxious about the security of my bike with an alarm and locks

The security guard at work was waiting for me by my bike. Guess my cable lock isn’t good enough and someone was going to steal it
He went with me on Amazon and recommended this one. He said the only ones that stay locked up are the ones with this type of lock

i dont live in a crazy city like ny... but im in mass.... i think ima try it from amazon since i can return... its for my e scooter i just spent 450 on.. most the time i would carry it in with me... but here and there i cant and would need to lock it up for 5-10 mins.. think this would be good for that? EDIT: i think my situation it would be mostly for ppl walking past it and trying trying to zoom off with it fast... i think ima give this one a try
